Hi all, this is my first post..waiting on my first mac! Just a quick thought, though: Since a handful of people on here have received their G5's, it's puzzling that Apple hasn't updated their web site with a clever "Now Shipping" stamp on top of a 2.5 box.

Am I correct in understanding that you recieved a 2.5 through a reseller and not through apple. If that's the case, this is the first time i'm hearing of such a thing.

I obviously won't be getting mine today because it's still stuck in Idianapolis, IN for some reason. So looks like I won't be heading down south to LA in the afternoon because I have to wait for the package before I can leave. I live in an apt here Downtown SF and I've encountered FedEx people leaving "sorry we missed you" notes. So by being gone I'm afraid it will just bounce back to Apple after three days.

I would like to see pics of people who received theirs. That is of course after you guys are done playing with it.

MacMall update

For those who may have ordered from MacMall, I just got some info from a guy there. He says they're receiving a shipment of 15 to 25 this Saturday and "the rest next week." I've been told they have 1200 on order, but I'm a bit doubtful that they will receive the full balance next week.

When I placed my order, I was told there were a little over 200 hundred on backorder so I don't expect to see mine for a while.

Just called FedEx Cust Service and asked the reason for the package being held at Indianapolis at the moment. She said it is delayed because there is a severe thunderstorm and the plane wasn't able to leave and would be held back until the storm clears in the area.

She couldn't promise a delivery for tomorrow, but was assuming it could be tom. Oh, well. There goes my waiting. No complaining here. What else can I do. A lot of people are still waiting for news, too.

No, it hasn't arrived yet..and it was from a distributor, not a reseller. I'm waiting for a phone call from my rep, though. I have no idea how/when Apple will be sending the systems to distributors. Hopefully SOON!

So checked the weather at CNN and there were heavy rains yesterday in the Midwest. The reason why it wasn't able to leave perhaps last night. Today is cloudy going to sunny over the weekend. I wonder when the next plane will leave...just want to see it get moving again from yesterday's delay.

Jacasey, checked your status and we have exactly the same details (time and location) except for Aug 5 where your package left Indianapolis at 3.28am, while others got stuck and was "being held" at 4.18am. Kinda odd that despite the storm, a plane could leave and others were left behind. Especially when LA and SF are already in the same State and a few hours drive. Hmm.

Lancetx, I wouldn't really know except for what she told me over the phone. But now the weird thing is Jacasey's had his shipped by 3.18am from Indianapolis heading to LA while the person on the other end just told me their plane was grounded due to the "severe weather condition."

In any case I'm glad Jacasey would be getting his today. I'm now thinking of heading to LA as originally planned. Oh well life goes on...just without my G5...sob sob. 🙁 He he. 😛
