Well the Old Man came through for me. (He's a politician )

He was able to obtain the free overnite shipping and found that if your order was cancelled by Apple at any time (like mine was) it was because the warehouse where it is being built was changed. Mine is shipping from Fullerton, California.

Despite the free overnite shipping my date is still "on or before 8/20." So the addition of faster shipping will not slow down your ship date.

No more calls to Apple for me I think.

How old are you, and who is buying/funding your $3000 computer for you?

If someone was buying mine for me I'd be the happiest guy in the world. I wouldn't care about how long it took to get it because I'd be so grateful and thankful that someone was buying it for me (even if I had to pay back without interest) Being able to buy anything that costs $3k without going into debt is not easy.

So if your old man is funding this purchase I'd be acting VERY VERY thankful. And on top of that, having Daddy sort out your order & shipping info for you is great. Lots to be thankful for there Invalpsion. And not much to bitch about......so quit whining!!!

As a side note, the biggest financial contribution my old man ever did for me....ever.... was buy me a $400 car that threw a rod in a month. (was forced to sell it & be car-less because "the old man" was too poor to help in getting it fixed & I was a broke student putting myself through school). Thats the best I ever received from him.

Now back to business -- anyone else get a shipping notice? I'm looking forward to getting mine.

Sweet! i hope this happens to me to, i've also been starring at a 9/20/04 date since the 31st. Is yours an edu order?

Yes, mine is an edu order. I ordered mine on June 24th and had mine mysteriously cancelled and then re-added a couple days ago with that Sept 24th ship date. I would think (PURE SPECULATION) that Apple may send out to the edu market at least with some priority. Apple has always prided themselves about their position in the edu market and this would fit the dwindling summer time frame. I know how summers can end faster than expected.

Correction: I received mine with the Airport Extreme card installed.

What is the problem solo-act? Why are you so determined to try to control everyone's emotions? Why begrudge them their forum to vent? If I were still in their shoes, all your comments would do is make me more angry. If you're such a patient person, why doesn't that patience extend beyond Apple to your fellow posters? Lay off of 'em, ok?

Like I said, they can freak out all they want. If I was being controlling, I'd be telling them not to freak out. If I was condemning their freaking out, I'd pass some type of judgment on them and put them down.

I did advise Invalpsion to be thankful... and quit whining (with a smiley face to lighten it up) but thats about as far as I've gone. BTW I can now see that he's footing the bill himself....which we all know ain't easy. So he's understandably frustrated like many others.

However, after seeing post after post after post of the same few people being so upset, I thought I'd offer all the info I managed to put together in an effort to be HELPFUL. Destructive criticism offers no help....and I wasn't trying to be an jerk, just trying to help with more info.

If my posts with stats aren't welcome just say so & I won't bide my 2.5waiting time here. I thought assembling and contributing some useful info amidst all the whining might help those that are blowing off steam most of the time, and those that are coming here to find out more info.
