Because nobody has a g5 with a 6800 card, pretty logical eh..

the bench that exists of the 6800 is just the cinebench, run by someone at wwdc. that's all

I just talked to an Apple Rep concering my order, she said that the 8/20 date for my 2.5MP w/6800Ultra should not change, and that it might actually ship out before then.

I'm hoping!

I keep checking my email every 5 minutes to see if i have a ship notice. my productivity at work has seriously taken a turn for the worse!

Just remember that a watched pot doesn't boil any faster. Would be best to get involved in projects that will allow time to pass by quicker.

For Hoopy, gnOm, GeckoHD, Klaus

Here's my spreadsheet I updated this morning. Its sorted first by estimated ship date, then by order date. Green=arrived, pink=USA soon to arrive, dark pink=non-USA soon to arrive.

Maybe that'll help a little in sorting it out. The good news I see is that there are definitely some European orders on their way.

But if you look at the long list of orders with est. ship date of Aug 20, Apple has a long way to go - even with just our small forum group (138 orders now). I'm hoping to hear a lot of excited people in the next seven days.

Otherwise, all those "on or before Aug 20" orders will get another gang email by Thur or Fri next week. :(

If its any consolation, there are 28 people with "on or before Aug 20" that ordered their G5 before mine. --E

Just ordered mine

My first Mac and I get to start with a 2.5Ghz G5...can't wait. :D
Just to clarify though, the wireless bundle ($79 on ADC) includes the bluetooth module (the separate option for $40) so that I won't have to use a dongle? So I got the wireless keyboard and mouse for $39 instead of $62 each?

Never mind that post -- I just updated my list again. You can see where I sit now.

There's now 33 people with "on or before Aug20" that ordered before me. Keeping this list is a good idea.... right? (laughing.....)

NEW STATS: 51 that need to ship "on or before" 8-20

Do you guys really think that 51 orders set for "on or before" Aug 20 will actually ship in the next EIGHT (if shippers work on Sat.) shipping days left before Aug 20?

That would surprise and amaze me......I could use that......

Bad news is, after an extensive update to my spreadsheet and correlating my info with Brykken's spreadsheet I came up with this:

On top of the 51 KNOWN orders for "on or before" Aug 20, there are 42 orders that are UNKNOWN. 26 of those unknown est. shipping date orders were ordered before 6-26 (my order date).

So that means that there COULD be up to and beyond 70 orders just from this forum that need to ship VERY soon.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the 8-20 ship date is going to slip -- maybe just a few days. I could be wrong, but right now it doesn't look good. I'm still hoping for a big shipping push, but I have yet to see it.

It's all right here on this excel document

Apple's pre-authorization on my credit card went away again today. That's the third time. Still no shipping notice.

Yes, I think they will all ship. 70 orders is nothing. Even assuming there are hundreds and hundreds more that are not reflected in the spreadsheet, I still think Apple (and IBM) having an additional month is a good buffer.

My money is on a ship date for 8/17. No later than 8/20.

Add me to your list!

Solo.

You can add my info to your list. what do you need?

And, I think just because it says that it will ship on or before the 20th (like mine) doesn't mean it will be arriving in a day or two if the history of the other posts are accurate.

But I am in line with you, anxiously hoping it does! :)

solo-act, I sent you a private message via this forum (to save others from the clutter) with updated details about my order.

In case you missed it, though (since its not on your updated spreadsheet), you can change my configuration from just "9800" to "1R-250-BT-9800". My order was shipped on 8/10 and its status is now, according to FedEx, "delay beyond our control" in Shenzhen, China...

Nice job solo-act, your hard work is appreciated. ;)

How is it that individuals are finding that their Credit Card has a pre-authorization. How is this information located? Via Quicken I can check to see when my card can be charged.

For those who ordered in early June:

As Apple sputters along in their shipments, I have a question regarding their "Order Status" page on their website: if for some gawdawful reason Apple needs to postpone their shipping date into September, will the "Order Status" page still show our orders, 'cos the page is supposed to only show a "Summary for the previous 90 days"?

Inquiring minds wanna know...

24 hours to go...

...or maybe 48.

Shipped y'day 10th from Ireland to London.

If you don't hear from me within the next few days, you'll know what I'll be doing...

Mind you, I'll probably post here before going down to reception to sign the delivery note :)

Not to sound too much like an imperialistic bastard, but why the hell are European orders shipping before American ADC orders???

I guess I was misinformed, but I thought developer orders had high priority, not to mention ones that were placed days after release.

I just don't understand how they could bump an order like mine back to 9/03!!

...it hurts...

I really want to believe that we're right on the edge of several shipments of hundreds of machines all landing in multiple distribution locations in the next few days. When thats the case, you're right....it doesn't matter how many orders there are, they'll all get filled.

But so far we've only seen the first machines trickling out of the supply channel. There are no signs so far of a rapid buildup of outgoing machines, let alone a fully open supply channel that can easily handle hundreds and hundreds of additional orders out there beyond this forum.

Yes you're yet another person on the list and in line IN FRONT OF ME! That brings it to 38 people in front of my order now. Thanks Kneecap........ ;)

I'm quite sure that there are many people out there in the US and in Europe who have already received their orders and we haven't heard of them because they're not all registrared on Macrumors.

As far as I can see, neither Europe or the US is getting orders first. They seem to be going to both, but the ORDER in which they are being sent out does not match when the ORDER was placed.

I still think that Apple has database issues...with orders prior to about June 25 or so it looks.

1. We placed on 06/09/2004 (mine was 7:45 am PST)
2. I'm an ADC member (although I ordered Edu)
3. Europe ships from Eire, septics from China

All clear?

;)
