The title says only on the plus cameras, if that's what that means. Which is fine for me, those are the ones I will buy anyway. Sorry for everybody else.

The more the leaks start to come out, the more it is shaping up as next year it'll be the iPhone 7S and 7S Plus and a one of special anniversary mega expensive 5.8" edition.
So unless you like the S models, or want the special edition one you may as well buy now yes?

I doubt I can afford the most awesome 10 year anniversary edition that's super expensive and has cheramic body and diamond screen lol..

I just need a phone that works, and that the Apple phones look great really helps. But I don't buy one for the fashion. And it kinda feels that's what Apple is leaning towards to.

Apple said:
The high-gloss finish of the jet black iPhone 7 is achieved through a precision nine-step anodization and polishing process. Its surface is equally as hard as other anodized Apple products; however, its high shine may show fine micro-abrasions with use. If you are concerned about this, we suggest you use one of the many cases available to protect your iPhone.
Vissible scratches for only $749.

No, like i said, its warranted criticism towards a boneheaded move by Apple. They've been disrespecting their consumers for years now, it got to the point where I got tired of their bullsh*t and built my hackintosh. Damn near every product of theirs has at least one crippling flaw;

Apple TV; has a USB port but you cant connect an external drive with media to it for native playback. WTF?
MacBook Pro: soldered ram and glued battery? Seriously, no upgrade path at all?
iMac: mobile GPU in a desktop?! Plus, it's borderline false advertising of the speeds considering the case is so tight theres poor airflow requiring the CPU to downthrottle otherwise it'd fry.

The list goes on though... But these aren't 'screw ups' on Apple's part... these are deliberate efforts to LIMIT their consumers. As a prosumer/power user, I'm done. OS X is their last great product.... unless they f*ck that up too.

Where to begin:

Apple TV: Does take the walled garden approach. Apple wants you to consume movies that they sell through itunes on this device or through one of the channels/apps. If you need to play music/movies from usb from the network etc etc then I agree this a wrong choice for you. Get yourself an Nvidia Shield. I have one and its great.
Lets you connect USB drives play 4k run emulators and even xmbc.

Macbook Pro: In an effort to make the laptop thinner for a better looking/appealing design the replaceable ram and battery of course had to go. What drove this? Look at consumer buying patterns. People want thinner and lighter laptops not the reverse. This is the case not just for macs but computers in general.

iMac: A mobile gpu inside? Can you list me some All in ones/AIOs similar in profile to the iMac with desktop class gpus inside? How does the cooling work for these because I can tell you the power requirements and therefore thermal dissipation in going from a mobile to desktop class gpu can easily be 2-3x. Even considering the beefy fan solution that would have to be built to make that work, if you are apple why would you put that in the iMac - Thats definitely going to cost quite a bit more money for the end user. Why not put that in the mac pro.. oh wait thats what they've done. CPU downthrottling? Thats a feature. Are you not looking at the space you are dealing with in an iMac? If you want a full blown rig get a full blown rig thats 5x the cubic volume of the iMac. By the way again, can you list me AIOs that dont down-throttle?

I think you are misunderstanding design and engineering tradeoffs as well as the target markets for some of apples products. To say apple is deliberately limiting users is a bit of a stretch.

Thats not to say apple doesnt act in their own "for-profit" "for-wallstreet" interests. Look at the 16gb iPhone and 32/64gb iPhone for $100 more fiasco. Thats definitely a move for apple to make more money. The chips are practically the same cost to apple. But of course wallstreet and margins. This year they finally conceded or did they? New iPhones can record 4k so as far as them plenty of ppl will still see the need for the more expensive 128gb model. Imo this is why they upped the capacities this yr. Business is business or did you believe Apple is a nonprofit :) ?

Your point about the mobile gpu inside is one reason why I wonder if the iMac is worth that money. I don't want a machine that;s good enough for today. I want it to last at least 4 years and not regret having investing 3200 euro.

Thats very very valid. But you have to decide yourself what are you trying to get out of the machine. Is it gaming? build yourself a pc for $1-1.5k USD with true desktop class gpus GTX1070s. Is it work thats mac based, sure get the base imac with 16gb of ram. It really depends on your needs.

No, it's not gaming. But it won't hurt that it's at least capable of doing it. It will be Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Lightroom, 4K content that we make, as well as what others make and I have to process. As well as the stuff we watch from the Internet. Huge MySQL database stuff, etc. I will still go for the iMac, but I am planning on buying the best card option possible, knowing I want it to still be useful in a few years. The iMac from 2009 I have now came with an okay card at the time, but again, underpar compared to what we throw in Windows boxes. And it's 2016 now and every app that requires a gpu to show its muscles is struggling.

And too heavy! Nobody is saying that. Way too much for my taste.

The 6s Plus is ridiculously too heavy. I had the 6 Plus for a month in 2014 and enjoyed it. But they put way too much in the 6s Plus.

I skipped the Plus model this time around and got the 7. I was pleasantly surprised that it weighs less than the 6s.

This is what really sucks about the current Apple. They make design decisions based on profit concerns. There would be not way in hell Jobs would not out a high end camera on the mid-size phone it was technically possible. He would charge for it, but he would not cripple the product just to "differentiate the high-end line". Galaxy S8, here I come...

Apple has a boss and it's not the customers it's the shareholders the joy of capitalism is this. Shareholders want more and are greedy!!

Something tells me that nothing will satisfy your wish list. Every year just makes the list longer, so Apple will never get there.

My comment has nothing to do with a wish list (not that you would even know whether I even have one or not). Way to miss the point.

Can't say that I'm surprised, OIS was with the plus for a couple of years before making it way to the smaller model, so this will be the same

Pretty sure it's triple cam next year.
LinX Imaging, the company Apple acquired last year for their advanced camera technology, designed triple and quadruple cameras.

I love light phones, but I have a secret.. I love if they have some weight to it as well. It's what I liked about the 4 that I had. The 5s spoiled me, it felt so empty on the inside and sorta lighter than the 4. Amazing.

The 6s plus was a lot bigger, i expected it to be maybe a tad heavier. but it is quite heavy. I sometimes really do not notice it. It's what i love about light devices. But sometimes I am flipping it (like doing tricks on a skate board, but with my hands) and I notice how it is hefty. Heavy.. whatever the word is. It's not 'heavy heavy', but just has weight to it.
But for some weird reason it never really bothered me. I am hoping the 7s will be a slightly bit lighter. Love for light wins it over liking some heavy feeling.

I don't understand what high end has to do with screen size. Why can't the 4,7" model be high end?

The 4.7" model is high end in everything but camera, which is limited by available space.

What's the point of 2 rear cameras? Superimposing two images or picking the better of the two?

Not odd at all; iPhone 7 was an option... until they turned it into kludge without the headphone jack.

Doesn't matter, the criticisms of the iPhone 7 are warranted.

I doubt a person that owns a Nexus would consider an iPhone 7 regardless of headphone jack. Especially when The Pixel is near release.

This thread is about a dual camera being exclusive on the Plus model in future iPhones. Personally, I don't care because the iPhone is the highest performing non phablet phone you can get.

I don't think I am. I think my presence is necessary to point Apple's faults rather than have everyone nod up and down like lemmings, too many of the faults fly right under the radar.

People are aware of Apple's faults. Yes the whole world knows they're shipping a 5400rpm drive in an iMac, but it's not the end of the world. You upgrade to an SSD.

The iPhone 7 doesn't have a dual camera like the 7+. Ok so you buy the 7+.

These faults aren't deal breakers to the majority of users.

Very innovative. Couldn't make a waterproof phone with a headphone jack but Sony and Samsung have been doing it for years... now they cant add the camera to regular sized phones?

I don't call this courage, I call it incompetence.

I see someone else read the headline and not the article...
