Now that I've seen pics of both the chrome and dark chrome I kind of want to get one of the two..just need to figure out which one better complements dark grey and red bottom pieces

I assume the revised Hybrid back is now what is being shipped

Yes. The first edition that I've shown in photos was just a prototype/"proof of concept" version. Just for testing. The version to the right in my last photos, and installed on the case in the full phone shots is the one shipping now.

For the red, I'd say the dark chrome definitely. For the dark grey, I'm not so sure. I'd think it'd be better with the bright chrome. Actually, hold on...let me dig through my pile of e13ctrons....I may actually have a dark grey bottom to mate up to the dark chrome top and see what it looks like!

You wouldn't know what the black chrome looks like, I assume this can be a matt finish as chrome tends to be very shinny and a finger print magnet.

The displays on e13ctrons site are poor enough they don't really give you a image of the various combinations and finishes, (unless I am looking in the wrong location)

Chris975d, Just found your post of the 26 April, I assume that is a polished finish

Lol. I was going to say "I wouldn't know what it looks like?". I've posted it several times on here now. I've had the dark chrome since January. And yes, it's a highly polished finish.

I think whether the black chrome looks good with the dark grey or not I'll still get it since I use the red bottom more often. Will probably throw some black screws in there for good measure (I really need to stop spending money on cases...)

It looks like the black chrome front and hybrid back must be on backorder...

still no word from e13ctron since I ordered on 5/25. Items appeared to be in stock on the website... still anxiously waiting.

No I have not tried the case but I would rather have an all aluminum case than a half plastic one that has been questionable from the get go. The element has been solid in all area's and they didn't have to use plastic on half the case to get the same or better results!
so you have tried the hybrid case from electron? i dont remember seeing your review

i dont get what questionable from the get go means?
i also would prefer a full aluminium case.
did you not experience same problems with gps that others are seeing in element case?

No I don't experience any gps issues with either of my phones and I have now used 4 element cases. Black ops and 3 others and all performed exactly the same. Also a gentleman on here reported that when he just put on 1 half of the case his signal dropped almost to an usuable state with the e13.

I actually ran a few more test last night. I had my phone with the e13ctron case on it and my wife's phone with just an apple bumper on it and the test came out pretty interesting. I put both phones in field test mode at the exact same time in the house and the e13 was actually about 2 db's better than the apple bumper was. I repeated this about 3 more times inside and outside of the house and it was back in forth so I really don't even think that I am losing my first thought of 5 db's with this case, I don't think I am losing any. I also did a wifi test and the e13 still does very good, especially for a all aluminum case but the bumper would give me a little more distance and speed at further distances that the e13 would but the e13 still did very very well, nothing really to be concerned about unless your trying to connect to a router that is 100 yards away going through multiple walls. I still have not got a chance to test the 3G but I will soon enough. Again the GPS is not 100% perfect but dang close, it does take alittle bit longer to lock onto you then the bumper but again, its a aluminum case. I still love this case, its very very light, it looks incredible in person, it will dock and I really can't find any flaws. I would still after a full days worth of use recommend this case very highly! I do have an Atomic case on my wife's phone but I am not going to compare one vendor's case to another, I don't think it is morally right. Again, if you are in a area of very low signal like chris975d had said in his post, you might want to go with the Atomic but the e13 case performs overall very well. I am truly shocked as to how well to be honest but also very pleased. I still have not taken any pictures, sorry about that but the wife has me running around the house bouncing form chore to chore. I do plan on getting another e13 for my daughter though, she absolutely loves the case and the feel of the case. I am just waiting on the guys at e13 to send me some real pictures of some different color combination's that they would recommend in pink and purple. I will try to get some pictures up later today sometime. Again, my results may not be like your's. This is in my area and all area's are different in terms of signal and GPS but as many positive reviews that are out there now about this case. I would feel pretty confident in purchasing it at this time no matter where you live unless like I said you have very very low reception, then you might want to play it safe and go with the Atomic.

it is just hard to follow you on this thread, you posted the post above but now act like it is a horrible case. I understand that you like your element cases and havent had problems with them. yes i know the electron case is half plastic but it is also near half the price of the element case.

unfortunately I cant afford element spectra so I have to go off of reviews and videos. I do have the hybrid electron case and it performs great so far ill give you a full update when i am done testing.

i cant wait to see your diamond back review

Gees Weisjt, I am relieved you are confused, so am I.

Dependent which thread you are in, users have different opinions on the Vapor 4, Pro, Pro Spectra, Atomic, and e13ctron which is expected.

We will be very soon coming to the end of the iphone 4, whether the next generation phone is the same concept will be revealed this year. However we have lived with the iPhone 4 specification for what 10 months and we still have issue's apparently with all aluminum cases, but we still buy them for $100++, and we buy another, and maybe another. Sure, I've spent mucho dollars on cases, someone says, my phone not longer looks like an iPhone but hey I can brag.

Then we have the "Hybrids" and we complain, because it is plastic, so we put different back plates and screws.

So when walking we have case "A", then when using GPS we have case "B", at work we have case "C", at home we have what no case, Wow! the phone looks rather nice in it's original condition just like Apple made it.

I too wish to have a aluminum case, but which one to go for I have no idea anymore.

I wrote that review when I was with at&t and case did work fairly well but I still had gps issues then. Now that I am with Verizon and I have explained how both carriers use different frequencies, the case works horribly with the Verizon iphone from what I have read and the messages a few people have sent me. So there is really nothing to be confused about! At one time everyone said I was a Atomic worker, now its Element. I just like cases that work.Period! I don't care what e13 does with their case, it will not work with the Verizon phone unless they do a redesign. I am sorry you can't afford an Electra but I am just giving you the details from what I have experienced and read from others. I have nothing against e13 but I just don't believe it will work with the Verizon phone. Everyone who has tried it has said the same thing.

How's the cut outs for the ports. Are there issues with non apple connectors and headphone plugs?

One of the features of the Vapor Pro case appears to be the large cut out areas.

you have knocked others for posting stuff on cases that they dont own or have tried so why do you do it. if you just kept your element posts in the element thread it wouldnt be a big deal but your on this thread saying that the element case is the best hands down and you havent even used a electron case on your verizon iphone.

this is my opinion and then i am done, i dont have a element case so i cant say much about it, i like the design. i own all aluminum electron and the hybrid and they look good, the hybrid performs great and it is half the price of other aluminum cases.

Go to post #857 and you will see what I am talking about . He used only half the case and was getting huge loses so what would be different with the hybrid? Its the exact same thing! And I have tried the case and my gps was off. So I don't know why you tell me not to knock something I have not tried because I have tried it. The only reason I posted is because the guy didn't know if he should get it or not because of reception. So its not like I am promoting any case, I just made a statement.

lol, whatever scelzifan says, goes! How dare you question his opinions and intentions? He is a saint  If you had a different experience or have an opinion contrary to his........, Well Sir !, you must be lying, lmao.

As far as the cutouts, having both of the cases, I'd say it's about equal. Element really improved accessory compatibility with the Vapor Pro compared to their earlier Vapor. When it comes to headphone cutout, I'd give a slight edge to the e13ctron. It's cutout is much more shallow than the Vapor Pro. I have a few high end IEM's (earbuds basically, Westone customs) that won't fit in the Element headphone cutout but will in the e13ctron. If you stick to stock Apple stuff, neither will be a problem.

Your correct about the saint part! But I also don't lie about companies cases. I buy them and run them through test, document EVERYTHING and then post my results. I am not biased to any company. If it works then it works and if not then I will say it no matter what company it is. The Vapor Pro just flat works. The e13 does not on a Verizon phone. Read the post I noted and use Google, a lot of people have reported the exact same experiences. I just ask people to be honest is all, especially when people are spending their money on your reviews. Be able to back up your data and every review I do, I do just that. Plus I know a little bit about how this stuff works like the frequency issues I have mentioned. I work in this industry and the people that know me well know who I work for and what I do for that company.

^^^^^^^^^absolutely stunning weisjt, wow  , Ive never been a big fan of the S4, but I may just have to try that color combo.

Yup the Vapor Pro "just" works, but but but......wait a second, the GPS signal gets shot, according to most folks who have tested it. But hey, twist the facts whichever way you want, you are the saint, lol :D

Your bias and intentions are apparent from the way you've chosen to pick a fight in this thread and announcing how the vapor pro is perfect in every respect, when its not, and also badmouthing the electron S4 and everyone else who chooses to have a positive opinion about it. And my "bias" is apparent in the way I reviewed the Vapor 4 as one of my favorite cases (still LOVE my satin nickel even though it does have an effect on signal) and not being so enamored with the vapor Pro due to its issues which include GPS problems and a high sticker price (an absolute ripoff considering the GPS issue.....thank heavens for the Pro knockoffs ;) :D, the pricing on them makes the issue more palatable).
