Ha nice!

Yea the hat is ridiculous (so are the glasses to be fair! Found them in our ‘junk drawer’) and I was honestly surprised it worked so well with that combo!
I made a short video on YouTube earlier showing it working numerous times. Have a look if you have time.

have you tried it at night in bed?

So, I'm using the iPhone X after sticking with the 5S for 4 years. It is very nice to experience a sea change shift in both performance, quality, size, shape, usability...it was almost worth waiting for 4 years to experience that old-school iPhone upgrade that felt notably different. Remember 5S was first gen 64 bit and first gen Touch ID...and it still has legs today as a phone due to the advanced tech that it premiered back in 2013.

I regret having some relatively crappy 5S photos of my kids, I have more of those than I did 4 years ago.

I'm now on the iPhone upgrade program so I may start upgrading every year. We'll see.

I guess this does work but I don’t like the extra step of having to press and hold to see the red dot before you can swipe up. What’s the reason for that?
I think when you swipe up now as it’s the home button, people would be closing apps when they are trying to get back to home page. It’s definitely a compromise

Except when you’re in multitasking mode the app cards don’t fill the screen so you’re not really swiping from the bottom. I hope they change it.

Oops!

Who will be the first to drop theirs and crack the glass front or back?

I'm betting the ones who will open it up in excitement just as they leave the Apple Store.. Excitment sets in more, so you start your fumble your phone. We've all been there, even me.

And you do realize that you can restore from iTunes from a local Mac/PC over WiFi, right? ;)

Really, who wants to deal with plugging everything in and dealing with iTunes?

I didn't realize you could do that... But I'd STILL rather plug it in because it's likely to be faster and more reliable than WiFi.

Setup was a breeze x it took almost exactly half an hour (including downloading all my apps etc), dead easy to do too. Excellent iPhone, lovely screen, great feel. I also I love the new size - I was finding with my iPhone 7 Plus that it kept falling out of my trouser pocket especially in the cinema which was a pain!
Fantastically fast and I’ve actually noticed that the WiFi works faster as my internet connection speed is 250Mb/s and the iPhone will pick up 125Mb/s instead of around 80 with my iPhone 7 Plus.
Would highly recommend IF you can afford it!

I got my iPhone X today and found out my wife’s phone which was scheduled for Nov 17-24 is coming Monday Nov 6.

I love my new phone and the easy data transfer from my 7 Plus phone. Very impressive. Getting familiar with the new gestures.

BTW, to force quit an app, do not follow the iPhone User Guide on the Apple website. You just press on the app card until a minus sign appears and that is what you press to force quit an app.

I ordered two leather cases from Apple and originally Apple gave me Nov 6 but both cases came today.

In addition, I already received both upgrades return kits today. Wow!!! Apple is working really hard to please its customers.

What version of iOS does it come loaded with? 11.1?
It updates automatically to 11.1 after you power it up.

I would have thought the early adopters would be "most" troubled with the remove of Home button over performance, but perhaps that's just me..

Would you get more confused ? I mean we all set ourselves up to do things a certain why, I would of thought that would take priority.. It's only just out, so give it time, I bet more people will be asking the same questions how to i do this simple task i could do on my iPhone 7
I thought that it would take time to unlearn the Home button but it was much easier. Swipe upward instead of pushing Home. In the last few hours that I have used the phone, I only pushed the phantom Home button only three times. Give me another day and I will ask What is the Home button?

View attachment 731857 I don’t know about you guys, but the WHITE on my iPhone X is looking absolutely TERRIBLE compared to my iPhone 7 Plus.

To me, the iPhone 8 is looking better and better the more I assess my iPhone X.

EDIT:

True Tone is off. All is well. :)

It is called True Tone display and you can turn it off in Display settings. Funny that some people still didn't get that, as it is actually part of the setup process.

I leave it turned on as it is easier on the eyes.

I turned off True Tone. All is well. I never used it before. Thanks!

Not having the remaining battery percentage is annoying the crap out of me! Swiping down the control panel is stupid.

They’ve gotta fix this. I don’t need the stupid battery icon. If it’s a space issue, just replace the dumb icon with the percent numbers.

Meanwhile... "preordered" my iPhone X 256GB Kevin Spacey Grey at 12:06am a week ago ... 2-3 week estimates......................
Me too. I’m happy for everyone who got their new phones today, and at the same time I’m like what the heck!? I woke up at 2:45 a.m. on a work night to order my phone, and today I have nothing, except for my new folio which feels like some kind of sick joke. Why bother shipping that when I don’t have a new phone to put in it!? I just stuck my old iPhone in it to pretend.

An option for this could indeed be interesting. Something that could be sent to Apple via their feedback form.

You can add the battery percentage widget to Notification Center for quick access with a right swipe.

Just swipe into Notification Center, scroll to bottom of page, click edit and add battery percentage. If you don't see battery percentage as an available widget make sure the battery is nearly fully charged...strange but true.

I'm really happy with mine. I moved from an iPhone 6 to the X. I'm really impressed at how well it's designed. I also like the feeling that I have a "New" phone design. It really does feel good in the hand!
