Eddy Cue's iWatch looks strangly upside down... he either slap it on really quick for the cameras or could be a prototype of the iwatch2?

iPad Pro's A9X processor is rumoured to deliver 'console-class' quality graphics. I just hope it can run at least two future generations of iOS smoothly. Currently my iPad Air runs like crap on iOS 9.1.

I doubt it will.

Although there is always hope that Apple finally reaches the point where power exceeds demand (like for it's "real" computers).

That said, I just won't roll the dice again on an Apple 1.0 product version.

They WANT you to upgrade ever frakkin' time.

- 16GB base storage since the iPhone 3GS.
- 'New' iMacs which have considerably worse specs than their predecessors, especially when it comes to graphics.
- Spinning, non-upgradeable 2.5" drives on a £1500+ machine in 2015.
- A ludicrously expensive purchase of Beats for little/no visible benefit.

It's Cook's Apple all right. Immeasurable profits, with even more cost cutting. Shame he doesn't have the vision or foresight to throw a bit of that cash back into the products. It really won't take much to make a lot of people here happy.
Amen :(

The usual clap trap marketing BS from them then. And Eddy Cue needs to get out more if all he can come up with is what a revelation 'stereo sound' is! I mean seriously? The guy behind Apple music 'changed the way he thought about the iPad Pro' because it has stereo speakers!

Note how they are going to some length to 'distance' themselves from this by claiming they made a 'pencil' or 'sketching tool'

And yes Apple zealots, Jobs IS talking about tablet stylus.

It's all just marketing folks.

You don't need a stylus to use it... It doesn't come with a stylus. Unlike the Windows XP tablets Steve Jobs was referring to.

Honestly...

You are forgetting the iPad Pro doesn't require a stylus. Its an accessory, non essential to the devices usage.

What Steve was crapping on about was standard, base level operating gestures, at the time the only way to operate a touch screen was with a stylus, he changed that with multi-touch - the iPad Pro falls into this category.

The stylus is optional, and most iPad Pros wont have one, or will use a third party one already purchased (like Pencil etc).

Not to say the iPad Pro is bad, it's just targeting a tiny sector of the market (specifically graphic designers) whereas the SP is for the broader market.

Not too many graphic designers will be able to afford this on a graphic-designer-salary.

Adobe has also shared a video where visual designers, illustrators, educators and other creative professionals offer positive first impressions of the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, with a focus on Creative Cloud apps including Illustrator Draw, Photoshop Mix, Photoshop Sketch and Photoshop Fix.

Now just I wait for Adobe to backpedal on supporting Apple Pencil, saying: "these are not our designers and they don't have a clue", - similar to what they did with their commitment "bringing Metal to After Effects", while stabbing their own director of engineering in the back...

I think most people are happy. I think we complainers are the last few that can see through this garbage. The 2.5 hdd really irks me. I decided years ago I would never buy an Apple desktop. When my 2011 MBP finally dies I'll think long and hard about buying another.

The number of people not resting their palm on the screen concerns me. I know there is palm rejection that has been confirmed multiple times but it would suck if some developers implement it "better" than others
Are you judging by that Adobe video? People who draw generally don't rest their palms on the paper/canvas, which tends to smudge things. It's no surprise they'd treat the iPad similarly.

Palm rejection is cooked into the OS. I doubt developers have much, if any, say over how it's implemented in their apps.

No, "Think differently". Jesus, all these people and companies dropping the 'ly'. And as for th over use of the word 'amazing', Apple are one of the worst offenders offenders.

How many millions is Eddy Cue worth and he still can't get that tooth fixed?

Jobs: "If you NEED a stylus you've already failed."

Amazing how some people continue to ignore and twist what Jobs said. One doesn't NEED a stylus with the iPad Pro. It works just like a regular iPad. It does not come with a stylus and works fine without one using your fingers.

Of course there will be many people like artists, graphic designers, photographers and other creative folk that will be stoked and thrilled that one is available as an option.

Still, some will continue to distort what Jobs actually said. One has to wonder why.

What a joke. How can he say he was surprised at the audio improvement with stereo speakers? Do these people use other products, or are they trapped in their own Apple bubble where everything is perfect until they change it. I think everyone for years now has wanted better iPad speakers.

Apple products are created in total secrecy and inside a huge bubble where no outside influence is allowed. That's why when the final product is unveiled, it is a few years behind other competitor products. The entire saving grace for the iPad Pro are the speakers. Lol.

But jokes aside did you see how fast it was loading up that cnn article and the movie played instantly? If that's the case then this is definitely worth buying because there isn't an iPad that is close enough to desktop browsing speeds.

Also note - I can't wait until the iPhone 7S has a stylus just like the galaxy note series. If that happens, it will be amazing. The note stylus is the most compelling feature and it's extremely awesome to use.

I don't know why so many people are so down on new stuff. Value means different things to different people. People seem to have a problem with the product because of it's perceived value vs some other thing they have. However when they do that they omit the detail.

The surface pro is a full PCs with all the normal PC stuff like fan noise, 3 hr battery life, applications that have yet to scale to retina properly (sql server management studio etc...), applications not built for touch with small fonts that demand the stylus etc... The list goes on. Yes it can run "full versions" of some important software but what is the point? If your only gonna get a few hours on it and have a greatly reduced experience I don't see how that is an amazing product. It's ok and the best you can get if you need both but it's not a best of breed experience like everyone seems to pretend it is.

The iPad on the other hand will have a huge battery life, 100's of thousands of apps designed for it from the go. No need for audio drivers and plug in sound cards for musicians, no rouge services / processes killing your battery like a "real" pic (I hate that term so much, used by people who have no idea how computers actually work).

I do have reservations in terms of application workflow which they seem to be trying to solve with app extensions. But I'm hopefull they make a more fluid environment to move things between apps. But other than that, I'm excited at seeing full mixing desks, instruments and so on modelled on an iPad pro. Also I'm hoping that this moves us beyond the already 40 yr old paradigm of keyboard and monitor to a new environment. The ability to touch and reconfigure our Tools through software needs to be explored more. Holding on to "real" operating systems, (whatever that means?) is just boring. Let's explore some new stuff for a change.

Compared to SP4 this seems like a totally pointless device; it's way too big to be a pure tablet, but at the same time it can't replace a laptop for content creation and productivity. I just don't see why anyone would get it over a SP4 that actually runs real productivity software and has a file system. Also, no mouse/trackpad support is a huge fail since using your finger to move the cursor and select stuff in Word/Excel etc. is frustrating as hell.

I believe this will be popular among artists and creative types. But I wonder if that's enough to make the iPad Pro a homerun.

Is it enough to revive the sluggish iPad product line?

If the Apple Pencil only works with the iPad Pro, how does that translate into increased sales of the rest of the iPad line?

I can't believe how much negativity there is about this product. Eddy Cue is using it as many people will, as a great big portable screen to consume content on. I am very excited to hear the sound watching movies, and was happy to hear he was enthusiastic about that. I am also looking forward to holding super-large 264ppi fast-loading webpages in my hand or seeing my photos on that amazing screen. The pencil, productivity and multi-tasking options are all very nice, but for myself and many others I am sure, they are secondary.

Because not everyone wants a desktop OS on a tablet, oh an Windows I much prefer OS X and even IOS over Windows.

Well, that's because the CNN News app sucks IMO but if an app is designed properly, it may be very useful to see multiple sources at the same time. However, it's most useful in the landscape mode where you can easily set up two full screen iPad apps. Some of the hands on were talking about using two Adobe apps to work on the same project at the same time.

Also, "pro" is a marketing term for Apple, it means nothing for the rest of us, just a way to set two devices apart. Macbook Pro isn't any more professional than Macbook or Macbook Air when used for a specific use case. For many creative pros, MBA is more of a fit than MBP due to the portability/weight.

Absolutely, hence why I wrote that it might work very well in "professional" use by utilising it in areas such as landscape.

Indeed. That I know too well.
