Seriously Eddy Cue should not be out there pitching this product. He uses it to read email and go to websites? #facepalm
Even as a fellow Cuban, I have a hard time supporting Eddie. However, I think people are missing the point here. As with any computer, even a desktop, most users (with specific exceptions) tend to consume a lot more than they produce on a computer. That is what eddie said and I agree. I work in IT and Spend more time at work reading and writing emails that most other tasks. I also spend a lot of time reading and creating word and excel documents (more reading that writing). I don't code anymore as I have a team for that so they do more creating than I do. But still I think his point which is valid is that even a tool meant for the Pro is going to be a consumption device a lot of the time and that the iPad plus took that into consideration.

Aside from that, He should really focus on his shady back room deals and stay away from the camera.

Because not everyone wants a desktop OS on a tablet, oh an Windows I much prefer OS X and even IOS over Windows.

Lol iOS over Windows 10? Yeah, on a phone, but you can't even begin to compare the 2 when it comes to actually getting stuff one. Using an iPad for any kind of productivity makes me want to pull my hair out, because I have to copy the same file repeatedly in order to open it in a different app and don't even get me started on the no file system problem.

iPad Pro's A9X processor is rumoured to deliver 'console-class' quality graphics. I just hope it can run at least two future generations of iOS smoothly. Currently my iPad Air runs like crap on iOS 9.1.

iOS 9.1 is Beta, and not released yet....

I think Jobs was right about the stylus. I had it on my Pocket PC in 2003, and it was a pain to get out. Often I tried to use my fingers, but it didn't work well.

But the biggest problem with all these devices (iPod Nano, iPod mini, iPod, iPhone, iPad mini, iPad, IPad Pro) is that I don't want the size be to set in hardware. I want it to be controlled by software, just like the keyboard on the iPhone.

I want something like Metaglasses or HoloLens, that can project any kind of shape in front me.

- Who wants to carry around a set of plates, ten different size, one for every occations. Yuck! No. We are going to use what you all have, your eyes, and project the information on to your retina.

Please Apple, give me that, instead of another size to the iPhone

This is exactly it on iPads. That's because I don't think it was ever meant as a productivity tool. All this sandboxing, restrictions just make it really un-intuitive as a productive device. It's great for watching web content, reading, downloading pdfs, etc. But many apps just try the square peg in a round hole approach to making their apps work right.

You are forgetting the iPad Pro doesn't require a stylus. Its an accessory, non essential to the devices usage.

What Steve was crapping on about was standard, base level operating gestures, at the time the only way to operate a touch screen was with a stylus, he changed that with multi-touch - the iPad Pro falls into this category.

The stylus is optional, and most iPad Pros wont have one, or will use a third party one already purchased (like Pencil etc).
Its not a stylus, its a drawing pencil.

Consuming device does not equal Pro. if I'm needing to write email/Word/Excel on an iPad, I'd likely already have a $70 bluetooth keyboard or keyboard/case already. I'm not sold yet on the additional two inches and... speakers?

I'm happy to give it a go for two months with zero commitment until I feel it is worth my buck afterwards. Bring it on! Not ventured nothing gained.

Just turn on iCloud Drive on your home screen in settings. Voila. File-system.

Yes, what a total revolution, a file system for the device that replaces your computer, that solely exists on the internet and you have to have a constant internet connection to use it! Amazing...

If every device followed that ridiculous model, global warming would increase because of all the extra power and machines needed to run it. Just to replace something your own device is much more then capable of doing itself.

I'm not going to get into an argument because the same argument has been made for many years now by many different people, but I use to be a Windows user until I switched to a MacBook and an iMac and I haven't looked back since. My point was simply that not everyone wants a full desktop OS on a tablet, some people feel it doesn't work well.

What horrific marketing of a new flagship product. Cue tries to sell the thing that is so amazing about the Pro is how he can read his emails....

I was always concerned by the size of the Pro, but seeing it like that is looks so cumbersome that is lacks any sense of portability. It is a MacBook with the keyboard sold separately.

The real gift from all this is the Pencil which is finally a proper stylus that works for iPad. Now wait for the next Air to have a faster refresh rate and this accessory will be a big earner for Apple. There most selling accessory I would say.

I do agree partly, the iPad Pro is very good at what it does for a niche market. And expensive – very much so.

But it's certainly not comparable with the Surface Pro. The SP runs a full Windows OS. The iPad Pro is still on iOS. Not to say the iPad Pro is bad, it's just targeting a tiny sector of the market (specifically graphic designers) whereas the SP is for the broader market.

Not everyone thinks that having full Windows is a positive. I surely don't.

Oh boy, I just watched the video of Cue and... I haven't cringed so hard for a long time, even during lackluster keynotes.

Did he just pitch an 800$ (and WELL UP) device as great for reading emails and surfing?
Did he listen to stereo speakers for the first time?

What the... And CNN gives them the stage, I guess that's just as bad... Everybody wants to ride on the "tune in, listen to an Apple executive here*" train.

*(and watch our ads, surf our site, etc...)

Nobody wants to ask actual questions, everybody demotes themselves to shills that piggyback on Apple's gravitation.

This almost literally physically hurt, especially if you actually love Apple and want them to invest the effort they USUALLY invested.
Just remember: No. New. iPad 10". This year. None. (and Mini is just... well... not what they promised.)

But Apple is marketing the iPad Pro as a being a content creation/productivity device and iOS is completely ill suited for that purpose. Is W10 perfect? Far from it, but it's a FAR superior productivity tablet OS and in my experience works just as well for content consumption although admittedly I'm not a big app user. Full version of Chrome >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> mobile Safari any day of the week.
