I thought this was a very professional video by Mr Greenberg who clearly has a good voice for this type of work, as opposed to the majority of iphone video reviewers I have heard :) :)

Leaving aside any potential issues re signal impairment and the ability to use various non-Apple accessories, what I find a bother is the actual fit and the "daylight" as Mr Greenberg mentioned. The idea of pocket "debris" having very easy access to the stainless steel surrounding band and scratching it up would require one taking out the Allen key and disassembling the whole thing on a very regular basis.

Waiting for more reviews on this thing. But right now. I think this thing is not worth the $80 at all. ADHESIVE????????? Biggest fail. More reviews and pics please. I have a feeling the majority of people will not buy this. Seriously, there are better cases under $80. YMMV
 
Anyone think the silver/black will look any good? I'm deciding between that and the silver/silver. I would have gotten the red if it wasn't that bright, a darker red would look much better.
 
Cut the Cord

The recessed phone jack is not an issue for me since I use BT ear buds and headphones and I only use the Apple cable and no dock. But the execution of the end product looks less than perfect and it doesn't offer much protection. My order is on hold for now.

Who knows? The orange was ugly and the black was lackluster. I think the Vapor 4 has bigger problems then the color choices, tho. :(
 
Lol , glad I did not order . That thing looks like it sucks. I knew it was to deep just by the pics of it. The colored cases look almost comical in real life. Among other things that review pointed it's the biggest iFail of 2010.
 
To me it seems just a little rushed, for instance they had rendors everyone was stoked about getting it and they got overwhelmed and had to crank something out and this was the output, I bet in 3 months it will more refined, better looking and cheaper:)

Any impact on signal?

The carbon back is supposed to use an adhesive that won't harm the phone so you can take it off without residue -- but element said you couldn't do that very often without it eventually losing adhesion over time. Does it impede the camera flash in any way?

And could you tell us more about the shock absorbing material? How much of it is there, etc.

On the face of it I'm thinking I may want to pass on this case -- I am a case fetishist and definitely would want to swap the phone into other cases from time to time which sounds like a pain with this case. Then again if I fall in love with it that's a whole other thing -- not looking likely, at the moment anyway! Nmaybhold out until I get to see a pink one in the flesh but since they haven't sent me a shooing notice yet who knows when I'll get to see one!

They haven't shipped mine yet and I paid on July 03 order # 34**
I sent them my first email today asking when it will be shipped. I called twice today ( First time calling them too ) and got a voicemail both times.
 
Great review Larry.... just totally underwhelmed. It almost seems unusually thick on the top and bottom, however the sides looks fine. The gap around the screen might really bug me though. Would like to hear about any signal issues pro or con.

SOOO glad I didn't order one. It doesn't offer much protection! Seems like it's just a metal frame. I don't like the lack of 'lay on the table' and i really don't like the small gap between the phone and the frame! To me it's worth maybe 15 bucks! Yikes!

ok first of all... great review! very nice job!

2nd....
where to start... im thinking in short im going to have to wait till mine comes in and just try it on... im having some really big probs with spending $100 now.... yea and not just after the review, i think as the big picture comes in view, its hard to fork over $100 for everything that has gone on...the wait, the lack of comm, and now regaurdless of how good/bad a review is it looks like the QC dept failed on a simple missing part...

guess we are all in the same boat now...
 
I think the bottleneck on Vapor 4s is going to clear up quickly. Lots of people who were planning to order one are reconsidering and those who are/have received them may be sending them back for a refund. :eek:
