Okay all you guys who are doubting your purchase. Here is a review from a excited som b!tch i would like to call ME.

Preface: I already came to terms, i wasn't receiving this case until i got back from PUERTORICO (leaving tomorrow morning) I come home from a hard leg workout at the gym, limping in the door like frankenstein with potato chip in his buttcrack that he doesn't want to break...anyway...my fiance is taking a nap on the couch, and i come sit by her, she awakes to tell me, in a slurred state, you got a package....im like ummmm WHAT? (the only package i was expecting was my vapor) , i run to the kitchen,...BAM from elementcase....im like wHOOOOOOOOOO HOOOO motha ********. I unwrap that bastard faster than an 80s baby opening a Nintendo NES in that same decade.

now to MY review.

um this thing is AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEE. I have black on black, and it feels SOLID, and sturdy. If you think this thing feels cheap and flimsy, just wait till you get it, and screw it on. I adore the feel of this thing on my phone and it is GREAT!. I really am so excited that i have this finally in my possession, it was def worth the wait. It looks really sleek. Oh and reception....no changes at ALL. im glad to say, because i was worried about that, just like everyone else. I made 4 calls on it after putting it on, and no troubles whatsoever. I haven't left my house and made calls yet just to be fair, but no nothing noticeable, and my bars are still the same as before.

Lol and to those who say i am an elementcase employee IM AINT! , but Ill say one thing bad about this though. WHO IS THE GENIUS THAT INCLUDED ONLY 1 SMALL LITTLE ALLEN WRENCH FOR THE SCREWS (there are extra screws that are included though). I almost lost the wrench like 41 times just pulling it out of the package! Oh and i still can't use 3rd party charges. they got the width opening big enough, but vertically nothing fits but apple charges...well so far that is. but if you had the apple bumper, you will at least have a little more freedom with this.

lol.. but i took some pics with my fiance's 3Gs (crappy quality. sorry), ill take somemore pics when i get my digicam out of my suitcase in PR.

once again...its awesome, hope you love it as much as i do.

Yeah, looking at the real life pics put me over the edge to finally pre-order the silver/black today. Hope it doesn't take too long to ship. I was about to grab a slider, but I remember I had a free speck fitted from apple on the way and I like how that one looks instead of the slider. Now I have 3 options on which case I can switch to every week, but I'm mostly gonna switch back and forth with the vapor and speck fitted. I really hate how the rubber part of my black bumper makes the phone look/feel cheap, I don't think I'll be using it again.

re Bumper, that is the ONLY complaint I have about it. Built quality is superb. But the rubber part makes the phone look cheap. I've ordered Incase Snap smoke via the case programme. The best minimalistic case, IMO.

As much as I hate to do any business with unprofessional Element Case people, Vapor is still on my list as I actually like the bumper type cases. Still need more extensive reviews and user feedback though.

I now have ZERO confidence in them as a business and service provider. All that is left is the actual product itself. It's got to be just about perfect, if they want my money.

Is this an attempt at humor in this review? It is not at all funny and your use if slang makes you come across as uneducated, case looks good though.

I'm usually a stickler for grammar too, but I laughed reading the review. johnny has been picking on people throughout this whole thread. Just ignore him.

How's reception? That's my biggest concern.

Great stuff, perplex.

Could you post some photos of the shock absorbing stickers inside the case? Or just explain what they look like? Four stickers on each corner, similar to iLounge v1** photos?

** I'm having a hard time believing this v1, v2 stuff. Sounds very much like their "batch 1 shipped, batch 2 will be shipped tomorrow" nonsense.

Aww....no backplate/carbon fiber sticker thingy? I realize it's a sticker but was wondering for some other "hands on" reviews about that piece.

No I just play one on the Internet.

Case is nice, of course they didn't open up the pre-orders today like they said...weird.

appreciate all the review whether it praise or diss the case:) perplex since you have both the bumper and the vapour now, which one has a slimmer form factor?

I'm really want the bumper but from description it seems to add quite a bit of bulk. I really like the form factor of the ip4 and want to try to keep it relatively slim. please advice :)

Dude, you quote his entire post (including photos which I find incredibly annoying) and you're asking about reception. Read it again!

Having such a fancy, CNC machined case complimented with a GENUINE carbon fiber backplate.....that's taped into place. For a case that costs $100 total, I would think they could've come up with a little better application of the backplate then using some 3M tape to stick it on there. Guess I was expecting TOO much from a case manufacturer.

I agree, a backplate would be MUCH better. But it's been known it would be a stick on solution for some time now. Also for $20 good luck finding any type of genuine backplate for the Iphone 4.... Hell you can buy a white one for $120...For $20, you have to be crazy to think its an actual backplate replacement...I would honestly rather them have come out with like a $50 carbon fiber backplate then a kind of odd looking stick on...but again for $20 it is what it is and for the money it's technically a better deal then say the SPG carbon stick thats actually a sticker...(although IMO the SPG carbon fiber sticker looks better...)

I don't think most people thought they'd be taking the glass backing off their phones and replacing it with the Element one. Instead, I think people expected that the carbon fiber plate would be held on via the lip of the bumper itself.

Please, someone help a brother out, who was that guy on here who said he'd let me buy his black/red case since he bought a bunch?

IMO im glad the carbon fiber back is not an insert. Think about it for a second an insert would have to fit absolutely perfect to prevent it from moving. It would make it thicker and could possibly bend if the case is overtightened.

I agree that the sticker is not the best solution possible but it's the most practical short of replacing the back glass.

Guys, I've been talking a bit with Element case and wanted to share a few points.

1. The version I was sent today was apparently version 1. Element was/is aware of some of the issues with this version and stopped production of it a short while ago. I'm told only about 100 or so of the V1 units went out. When I received notification that mine had shipped I assumed I was receiving V2 since it had been sometime since they noticed the issues with V1.

2. I am being over-nighted a V2 case. Anyone who gets a V1 can have their case exchanged by Element for a V1 case at no cost.

3. The V2 had added fixes for any reception issues. It has a small slot over the SIM card and the addition of the correct sleep/awake button adds more foam to help.

4. The spacing around the edge (or daylight as I referred to it) is intentional. They created the channel to keep the case from being in direct contact with the iPhone's antenna. If stuff gets down in the channel the case should be removed and cleaned.

5. The carbon fiber piece is removable and can be reapplied. I figured this would be the case as I've used skins before but I also know they all lose their adhesiveness eventually.

6. The Element web site will be updated over the weekend with new pictures and information.

7. The new version also has a revision to the cutout for the headset jack. But I'm not sure exactly what the change is.

8. The last photos sent out were not renders. They were actual product shots.

9. I'll have a red/black version tomorrow and will post a fully updated review ASAP.

10. The "foam" isn't in reality foam. It really is a compound that does offer a certain level of shock absorption. They've done some drop tests from at least 3 feet to test.

Thanks for the info and thanks for putting a review up.

I understand, but when its been know that it was a sticker.... obviously its going to STICK on. But again I agree it could have been implemented WAAAAY better.

Also I like the pictures, but now that we can see close ups, I wish they would have been brushed aluminum... It would give it a better look, and make the anodizing job actually look real instead of like plastic or paint. But thats just my opinion.

I have no interest in buying this case but much thanks to lgreenberg for taking the time to put up a pretty thorough review and video.

Please, someone help a brother out, who was that guy on here who said he'd let me buy his black/red case since he bought a bunch?

He disappeared when I pointed out it seemed like he was a element employee, defending them at every turn and claiming o have ordered multiple 80+ dollar cases.

Has anyone in the 44xx slug gotten a shipping email yet?

Hardly matters for me now cuz I leave for vacation tomorrow but still I would like to know it's coming. At some point anyway! Gotta see a pink one in the flesh.

I'm fine with it being a sticker as long as it's real carbon fiber. I think it looks cool but I'd sure like to see one in person before placing my order. I look forward to watching Larry's revised review, hopefully tomorrow. And I hope he shows a closeup of the padding inside the Vapor.
