So far Im not impressed for 80+ dollars, i was pretty interested in this, but so far my sosche bumper is looking pretty good right now.

The inside "padding" looks like crap and thrown together in about 2 seconds. I was expecting it to be lined with rubber all the way around.

I don't think they do very good reviews. That really wasn't even a review, it was like the person spent 10 minutes with the case and rushed to write something. I'm sure the case will be fine but it's going to have a hard time living up to our expectations and hype over the last month.

It's called a First Look. Not a review. I find it funny that people are bitching about someone giving their opinion in a First Look, saying that it's a "crap review", just because it doesn't agree with what they are hoping the case will be like. So freaking hilarious! People need to get a grip!

Preface: I already came to terms, i wasn't receiving this case until i got back from PUERTORICO (leaving tomorrow morning) I come home from a hard leg workout at the gym, limping in the door like frankenstein with potato chip in his buttcrack that he doesn't want to break...anyway...my fiance is taking a nap on the couch, and i come sit by her, she awakes to tell me, in a slurred state, you got a package....im like ummmm WHAT? (the only package i was expecting was my vapor) , i run to the kitchen,...BAM from elementcase....im like wHOOOOOOOOOO HOOOO motha ********. I unwrap that bastard faster than an 80s baby opening a Nintendo NES in that same decade.

now to MY review.

um this thing is AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEE. I have black on black, and it feels SOLID, and sturdy. If you think this thing feels cheap and flimsy, just wait till you get it, and screw it on. I adore the feel of this thing on my phone and it is GREAT!. I really am so excited that i have this finally in my possession, it was def worth the wait. It looks really sleek. Oh and reception....no changes at ALL. im glad to say, because i was worried about that, just like everyone else. I made 4 calls on it after putting it on, and no troubles whatsoever. I haven't left my house and made calls yet just to be fair, but no nothing noticeable, and my bars are still the same as before.

Lol and to those who say i am an elementcase employee IM AINT! , but Ill say one thing bad about this though. WHO IS THE GENIUS THAT INCLUDED ONLY 1 SMALL LITTLE ALLEN WRENCH FOR THE SCREWS (there are extra screws that are included though). I almost lost the wrench like 41 times just pulling it out of the package! Oh and i still can't use 3rd party charges. they got the width opening big enough, but vertically nothing fits but apple charges...well so far that is. but if you had the apple bumper, you will at least have a little more freedom with this.

lol.. but i took some pics with my fiance's 3Gs (crappy quality. sorry), ill take somemore pics when i get my digicam out of my suitcase in PR.

once again...its awesome, hope you love it as much as i do.

Yes, it would be nice if it was integrated some way into the case, but seriously, it was advertised as a carbon fiber adhesive backing.... And that is what they have been shipping.

I don't think anyone realized it would be a paper thin sticker, I think they thought it would be an actual piece of carbon fiber.

I actually think the bumper looks nice! Not as nice as the renders, but...I kinda expected that too. The colored ones look kinda shiny, whereas in the renders they looked like a semi-matte pearlized finish. (ETA: however that could be the pictures, I take lots of pictures and sometimes things don't always appear in pics as they do in real life)

Still not digging the "daylight" gap either. I think I'm on the fence till I see the black/pink and the black/yellow-green ones.

Kinda hopin it's not an actual see through (daylight) type gap. I think it may be just the top edge of the stainless steel band around the edge of the phone that may be slightly visible. If I am guessing correctly they didn't machine the pocket depth of the case deep enough to completly cover the top and bottom eges of the stainless band around the phone in order to ensure the case would fit tightly on the phone due to production tolerances in the phone itself.
I think if they would have machined it to the exact depth of the actual phone they used for setting their machining tolerances, they may have had some problems with other iP4's not being the exact same dimensions as the one they used, thus creating a loose fit on some phones. This is purely speculation on my part though. Maybe someone here could measure a couple different iP4's with a pair of dial calipers to verify.
If my hunch is correct, I think it could easily be remedied with a black sharpie around the top and bottom edges of the stainless steel band before installing the case if it were bothersome. The sharpie marks could easily be wiped off with alcohol if / when you would ever want to change cases or use no case at all. Just a hunch though. I guess I wont know for sure until my case arrives.
