Yeah, they should've let us known wtf was up on the 12th. At least they could outsource it to another company in the mean time. Way to screw early purchasers.

I'm not going to crucify a company for making me wait 2 days for a response. How long has it been now that apple is finally holding a press conference on the iPhone problems?

Booyah! Where is your common sense argument now?....idiots. You people claiming it was a render smell of trolls trying to kill excitement for a product.

Sorry... don't believe it. These are people working out of their house...and they have time to send one off for some sexy product shots while trying to figure out how to fill orders? I really, really, doubt it.

Renders or not....wouldn't it be nice to see each of the color combinations from all angles?

lol

You need to grow up. Do you realize what it takes to outsource CNC work? The costs associated with it? It takes time to meet with 3-4 companies to see who can do the work...negotiate the price. Those outsourcing companies have to get ideas on how long it will take to cut, how much materials are and if they will take that big or small of a job. It can take a week for each company to get back with you.

Then...these things have to get anodized. Its doubtful that the machine shop will do the anodizing process...so that would have to be sourced as well. The guy who is building these now would have to hope he has a good idea on how many to order. If he orders 1000 and only had 500 orders...he has to foot the bill for 1000 which could render him with no profit. Hell, he could lose money.

Then if he underestimates, you are going to bitch because yours wasnt in the first run at the machine shop and will have to wait a couple weeks for the outsourced company to get more materials, finish the job that they are working on now, then do another run where the Element can possibly lose money AGAIN.

I still think it's a render, and I'm still waiting to see some real world photos and reports on reception. I'm not buying a $100 bumper if it doesn't alleviate the antenna issue.

I'm gonna wait and see too... although I don't think anything's going to fix the antenna issue except next year's iphone. I'm just afraid all that aluminum will make the antenna issue even worse.

Photos would be nice!

I spoke to them today as well and they were very helpful! Apparently it is an easy thing for them to not put the logo on there so by all means call them to ask them not to if that is your preference. One thing they did say is that because they wanted to show the concept in as much detail as possible some things look larger than they are. So the logo is not as large as it appears to be. Similarly they say the profile of the case is close in width to the apple bumper -- something like 3/32 of an inch on the sides. There Is a lip also on both sides so that the screen never rests on a surface, and that lip is a little more than the lip you get with the apple bumper.

The moral is that we won't really know how this case looks until we get one in our hands, but the rendering makes it look bulkier than it is in real life.

I too was in the four thousand order range and really hope to get it before august but there are a lot of orders ahead of me!

Can't wait to see it in the flesh!

Oh and they did try to test it with multiple headphones and dock connector cables and they are hopeful it will work with many or most of them, but of course there is no way to know that for sure until we get our hands on one of these cases.

Are you saying that they will leave off the logo on individual orders?

Wow! That sounds a little out of the ordinary to say the least.

These things I am thinking must be done in huge quantities, so unless their just doing a batch without and setting those aside, I would really be surprised if they can actually accommodate this request.

These are hand crafted if im not mistaken. meaning a human must make each case. so therefore it should not be unreasonable to think that they are able to leave the logo off of certain orders.

Did anyone register to pre-order...and then received an email explaining how to order? Or did ya'll just go to the shopelementcase.com website and order right away?

They told me that the logo was the absolute last thing they added to the product so yes they could just leave it off. I think on their last website update though they started backing off on that offer, so I wouldn't be surprised if my order still has the logo on it.

Whateveer -- I'm bummed that they expanded production so that august orders come earlier than expected while July preorders are delayed. Still trying to make sense of that one.

I registered to preorder and then got the email explaining how.

None of it made any sense to me at the time!

The only thing that went swimmingly was the charge to my credit card! ;)

Regarding colors....

After studying the pictures...it looks like the screw attachments are on the lower right hand corner, and the upper left hand corner forming two "L" shaped aluminum pieces. So... one of those pieces will be colored and the other won't? I guess I kind of thought the color was on the sides, and the top and bottom were black or silver?

Looks like they have collected a boat load of cash doing these "pre-orders" and have yet to deliver any product. Great way to do business if you can get away with it. I thought there were laws regarding payment before shipping. Nice looking case, I just hope they deliver and the final products live up to the drawings....

Somebody said they're doing business out of a house... hope they don't move away in the night... Not seeing an actual product is just really fishy to me. Also, I read in the UK that it is illegal to advertise product without using a current, actual picture... Not the UK but...Just sayin'

Maybe they took all the pre orders money and just starting to get the renders off the drawing board. Pretty smart. Don't have money to cover operating costs so thus taking in pre order money to cover ha!

Ouch, small cash strapped start-up company working out of the house. No real photos or product to be seen. This has all the makings of trouble. I hope I am wrong and this turns out good for all the pre-order crowd, but I think I will wait on the sidelines and see how this plays out.
