I'm in for group buy... I see they just updated their preorder page -- it now says the preorders for July are sold out (now taking preorders for August). I preordered one yesterday but all they did was take your e-mail and say they will contact you once they receive them, I guess they will e-mail a page to pay for it then or something.

They also just added two new styles, Silver / Silver and Black / Silver. If only I could get them to respond about not including that stupid VAPOR logo now :eek:
 
I'm confused about the V4 Carbon Back Plate. Do you somehow replace the back of your phone with this? Is that what I'm reading? Am I reading the posts wrong?

If that is what you do, how difficult would it be?

I'm pretty sure its just a thin insert that you put into the case along with the iPhone and then screw it together.
 
Just got my preorder e-mail, you can purchase them now (for shipping in July)... The picture they sent me with the preorder email has the case with a smaller logo now on the side.

They seem to have terrible customer service though, I've tried e-mailing and calling them for more pictures of the other colors and info about leaving off the logo... no responses or answers. :(
 
I am having a real hard time how covering the Antenna with AL will not cause reception problems. I know it will prevent the death grip because of the internal insulation but the radio waves have to travel through AL vs plastic. Still a nice looking case.
 
I just pre ordered my case as well from them but I've been a bit confused about the back plate myself. It CAN be the thin piece that goes in between the case and the phone to be screwed together but I was wondering if you don't order it, if the case itself won't for some reason squeak or move slightly because of the small opening. Screwing too much into the case wouldn't be a good idea. I stripped the screws in their previous case.

Thats true, I really wish they would answer their phones or respond to emails... they really didn't put out many pictures or details about the backplate, colors, logos, when the colors besides black and pink ship out, etc.

I guess I'll order one and just return it if it sucks :eek:
 
I dont get all the hype they look ok but nowhere near worth 80 dollars

Also who wants Vapor in big block letters going down the side of there phone? Meh
 
Wow these look nice! I'm def in for a group buy. For all of the people saying it's overpriced:, if you had a CNC mill and access to raw materials you would understand why. If I order one it's going to be red/black with the carbon back, best looking case IMO.
 
I notice in some pics there is no cutout for the noise canceling mike like on the all black one.

The only annoying thing I would say with the case if it's like their other models is the allen wrench that you need to carry around if for some reason you need to take the case out. I haven't heard anything about if they are doing the same with the Vapor but that's something to consider as well.

Dude, I always carry Allen wrenches with me lol! :p But seriously I might change out the Allen head bolts to Torx to prevent stripping of the bolts.

Coming from someone who owns an old wrangler. Torx are the devil. Allen are much harder to strip if you use the right size. I'm sure they will include an allen wrench with the case.
 
From the pre order email, the size of the logo appears smaller than the original. Placed an order this afternoon.

What's up with that coupon code? Only gives you 1% off?!?!?
But I went ahead and ordered. If I don't like it I will return it.

Would be nice if they would answer their damn e-mail or phones though :mad:
 
If anyone here ordered a black/red one with a carbon back and you don't like it, I would love to buy it from you.
 
It's nice, but in the renders seems to make the iPhone look much larger than it really is. I have bulky cases.
