I still haven't gotten the e-mail and I preordered and paid on July 1. Anyone else who preordered still not get the e-mail?

I think the email was just for those who are on the pre-order notification list, but have not paid yet. I think it's their way of warning us that money might be due soon. Probably before anyone here has an actual case in their hands!

Naw man, I paid on the 3rd and got the order info and I got that email today as well.

Aluminum foil

So I did this quick test with aluminum foil and folded it until there was 8 layers. Wrapped the foil around phone w/bumper some parts of the phone got overlapped so that part of the phone actually got 16 layers of foil.
Results:
Without foil = 3 bars
With foil = 3 bars
After putting on the foil I let it sit for about a minute, at first it dropped to 2 bars but it quickly went back to 3 bars and stayed there.
Btw I'm on 4.0.1.

Ps I had a OSIR Carbon fiber case for my 3GS and that actually decreased the signal strengt, but not to a point that I never wanted it off. The only time I couldn't use the phone was in really weak signal areas where my wifes phone had 1 bar and usable mine had no service.

Thanks for posting the info... anybody else want to give it a try?

It's great to still know that I filled out the preorder form before this even made headlines on July 1st and still never got my preorder order email. And no it's vein sent to my junkmail and yes I put in the right email address.

People need to stop spamming this thread... I don't like reading 40 pages of garbage.

Unless if you have a picture of the case stop posting.

Just my two cents.

So the carbon fibre backplate is just an add-on to the case, and not a replacement for Apples glass one?

It is a carbon fiber plate, no sticker, but it has adhesive on it to attach to the back of the phone. You can also remove it without removing the bumper part of the case, but you won't want to do that too often or the adhesive might wear off.

I spoke to the folks at Element at length about the carbon plate -- that's what they told ne.

Also, as for the preordeers, I was in slug two of the July preorders and did pay and I did also get the email today.

Can't wait to get this puppy!

And to the naysayers -- we have a picture now, an email from them, and probably shipment next week. Sounds legit to me.

More like they were the only one who had a semi-decent case. I've ordered a Vaja case so either way I'm getting a case, so whoever gets to my house first gets my money. If both aren't here in September then I'm canceling both orders.

You might want to check Vaja's return policy. Unless they've changed things, they do not let you cancel your order once it is placed. Period. And unless there is someone incredibly wrong with the case you receive, they don't accept returns either.

I would also say that September would probably be the earliest you will receive it. My eariier phone case was held up in customs for three weeks! That was AFTER the "handicraft" process -- gotta love their fractured English!

It's not a custom order so yes I can cancel. If anything I would rather cancel the Vapor case due to my past experiences with them. I never received my IPad stand from them despite them claiming they shipped it. I sent off multiple calls and emails and never heard back from them so ideally I want to never do service with them again however they have the ony semi decent case.

if you don't like ec so much then cancel your order...I've bought their products for the 2G, 3G and iPad already....I just registered for pre-order for the Vapor and I know they won't disappoint!

Here we are with just two posts on this forum and all two about the case! And attitude! Astroturfing???

Ugh, I'm confused about the email they sent:
First, thank you for your patience while we retooled our shop and waited for Apple's announcement regarding the antenna issue.

Before accepting more Vapor orders, we wanted to be sure that Apple was not going to recall the iPhone 4. During this wait, we retooled our manufacturing facilities and are now back in production of Vapor cases at an accelerated rate! With the exception of Pre-order Groups 1 and 2, orders will be received ahead of schedule. More colors will be available when your pre-order is ready to process. We will also offer replacement parts in a variety of colors beginning in August.

Does the words in bold/red indicate the 1st two preorder groups got screwed? Or is it implying our cases will get shipped first, or already have? Thanks in advance! I can't imagine why they'd ship orders placed first later than the orders placed after the preorder groups?

It would appear to me that Groups 1 and 2 would receive their orders as previously advised. Later orders will be received quicker than previously advised.

I am asking these questions again:

1. For those (in the US) who received advices that their order has shipped was any tracking number given? I assume the shipments are going via some trackable means as that is the only way that makes sense.

2. If so, what happens when you try and track your order?

A fellow Canadian answered me clearly on this but nobody from the US has answered this question.

I really hope I get mine next week. Can't wait to tear this crappy Zagg off and send it back :p

I don't think anyone has received any shipping info?
