element bumper "vapor"

My order # was in the 4,000 block, so I hope I get it sometime in July :( I dont think I could wait until August. I'm sure alot of the people who signed up to pre-order won't go through with ordering them anyways.
 
I can't wait to get mine. I was thinking of using some graphic skin for the sides to cover the logo. but I dunno.
 
I spoke to them today as well and they were very helpful! Apparently it is an easy thing for them to not put the logo on there so by all means call them to ask them not to if that is your preference. One thing they did say is that because they wanted to show the concept in as much detail as possible some things look larger than they are. So the logo is not as large as it appears to be. Similarly they say the profile of the case is close in width to the apple bumper -- something like 3/32 of an inch on the sides. There Is a lip also on both sides so that the screen never rests on a surface, and that lip is a little more than the lip you get with the apple bumper.

The moral is that we won't really know how this case looks until we get one in our hands, but the rendering makes it look bulkier than it is in real life.

I too was in the four thousand order range and really hope to get it before august but there are a lot of orders ahead of me!

Can't wait to see it in the flesh!

Oh and they did try to test it with multiple headphones and dock connector cables and they are hopeful it will work with many or most of them, but of course there is no way to know that for sure until we get our hands on one of these cases.

Thanks for the update! Looks like I better call them up tomorrow so I can get a no logo option before it's too late lol.
 
Anyone know if there's a wait time on the phone when you call them? Plannin' on calling when they open tomorrow.
 
Hate to be the voice of dissension, but this thing looks like something made for Best Buy's Rocketfish label (esp. the red/black version). And where's the left handed option?

Yea, I got an email response today too! I also asked them about the logo and they said if you order to put "No vapor Logo" in the comment. Or if you already ordered to contact them with your order # and let them know you don't want the logo.

OH sweet!!! Thanks for the info, That was the only thing holding me back was the having to come up with a way not to have the logo.
 
I pre-ordered the silver/silver with carbon back. I can wait. I got my lame Apple bumper today. What a waste of time and money that was.
 
This is an awesome looking case, but I have to wonder how much the aluminum will reduce antenna performance even though its insulated it still is wrapped in aluminum which would reduce the amount of signal getting in and out. We shall see when reviews come in.

I'm waiting on switcheasy to come out with their cases.
 
I ordered mine black/black using the "julypreorder" code on july 5th. its awaiting fulfilment, I've been charged for it too. Hopefully I get one in the first batch. In the comment field when ordering I noted for "no logo please". So, hopefully it comes with no logo on it and if it does I dont care really either way. It was an impulse buy thats for sure an expensive impulse buy!
 
I think most people are going to wait for the guinea pigs to get it before dropping 80 large on something like this... hell, half the pics on their site dont load, your picking color schemes you've never seen. That's OK for 10 bucks or less, but not 80 to 100. Anxiously awaiting some RL pics!
 
UPDATE: Just called them to have the vapor logo removed, and I asked if the carbon fiber back is indeed a replacement back for the iPhone, or an inlay, and he said it has an adhesive back, you peel if off and apply it to the back of the iPhone 4's glass. He did say it won't leave a sticky residue if you choose to ever take it off though. Thought I would inform everyone here. :cool:

I agree, I'm waiting on some HQ pics before I pull the trigger on this.

cool, a carbon fiber sticker that costs $20. i feel bad for anyone that ordered that.
 
Does the Element keep the back of the iPhone slightly elevated above a surface its placed on like the Apple Bumper?

If so, I'm not sure I see the need for the Carbon Fiber "sticker".
