no it does not.

For you? I have had the case a few weeks. I like it...

- No decibel effect on CDMA signal (I posted my tests a few pages back in this thread)
- No problems with wifi for me
- I never use the GPS so who cares for me. Haven't tested...
- Love the look and more importantly, the feel. The atomic cut into my hand...

The case is not perfect. But it's the best one out there for me.

Everyone needs to step back and get a little perspective. Each poster has their own opinion that is really only relevant to their own situation. I had to buy and return 3 aluminum cases before I found one that worked for me.

But in general, the reviews on the Vapor Pro Black Ops and Spectra have really been uniform: Great for 3G and wifi, questionable for GPS. If that works for you, great, if not, then keep looking...

no it does not.

Yeah (very) small numbers, and also most people are only aware of Element Case, I didn't even know about the existence of those other aluminum cases.
Again, I loved the design, but I'd love to see a poll with a specific issue of cellular/gps signal and how many users are experiencing it and how many are not. I'm talking about the new pro. I'm not fussed about ~5-20 dB loss in cellular signal, at least I can hold the phone comfortably :p, but the 3G performance was a bit affected.

Anyway, I'd like to see some real answers, perhaps videos?

Could you show us in a video?

Here's a review from a highly respected reviewer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6c2ahIucmOk&feature=player_embedded#at=38

I'm almost shocked. You guys are the first complainers I've heard about this case as far as reception. Really every review has been great. Now if you're talking strictly about GPS function I have heard it is inaccurate. 3G and wifi are flawless in my experience and virtually all I've read. You are talking about the "Element Vapor Pro" models aren't you?

Yup. Just buy a separate GPS, so what if the case effs up the GPS signal. For $130-$150, you guys need to stop being so picky :p And hey, the element shill told us we need to keep up with the Joneses and spend our money like it was going out of fashion......so lets all do that, lmao. Keeping up with the Joneses, now Ive heard everything. Buy an expensive iPhone case that doesnt work......that'll solve all your self-confidence problems too, lol

Man your absolutely rediculous! I think everyone is seeing how big of a douche you really are! I'm glad, keep up the bashing on element. I'm sure they are laughing all the way to the bank.

He like said about there cases working hands down probably referring to performance not customer service Which perform better vapor pro or atomic. My spectra pro is useless to me navi wise and drop signal in nyc.

I may be on the opposite coast, but I heard that NYC blows for cell reception. GPS?! Well, as I posted before, there are a lot of mitigating factors there like buildings being in your way to a clear line of sight.

You needn't be insulting and disrespectful. I'm a 70 year old man. I've been an Architect my whole life. I know a design I like. everything has compromises. The Iphone itself has compromises (antenna on the outside). We still like it. I believe you do to. I am very self-confident. Are you?

The joneses and self confidence comments were directed at the shills. Are u an element case shill? If not then there is no need to feel insulted.

what video? you have a tons of video on YT that shows there is no reception wifi signal degradation ...also I dont have a degradation on GPS

Yes, and I'd like to see a video of your iPhone 4 with a Vapor Pro on running say TomTom or even maps.

Could you do that for me please?

What I was saying before, regarding a total loss of GPS signal, was about the AR15-V. I tested it in various areas in UK on three different iPhone 4's and in ALL cases I had NO GPS whatsoever.

I'm very surprise that some people just won't accept the fact the a $149 case is just crap and totally impracticable. I don't want to argue over a silly (yet very expensive) case. I just state facts - and this is regarding the AR15-V.

Now I'd like to know how the Pro version performs with regards to GPS strength.

I'm not interested in the reviews from "trusted" reviewers. I'd like to see a real video with the Pro on and say Google Maps running, or even a free app from AppStore called GPS status.

Please anybody, show me a video on GPS Status app running on iPhone 4 with the Vapor Pro on it.

PS. I think some people need to calm down, because at the moment it just seems like nobody can say a bad word about any apple or apple related products. Just read yourself guys!

I just assumed you were addressing me since your post was right after mine that praised the Element Vapor Pro and called out some of its critics.

No I don't think I'm a Shill.

Well, it was a misunderstanding.........I was referring to those who made the "keeping up with joneses" post, harrassed me via email, and then attacked me and called me names for having a poor opinion of the GPS performance of the Pro.
cheers

Cool, it was late and I over reacted, sometimes I get in a mood to start trouble.

Amazing quality on this one ;) fits better (no gap on top or bottom) than the blackops I sent back. No signal or gps issue so far - will do further gps testing in downtown tomorrow.

Quality is top notch - it feels exactly like my blackops - if you ever held the black ops it feels like a matted gunmetal. This is exactly like that except silver which matches my white iphone much better ;)

Hey, please do me a favor and install a free app from AppStore GPS Status and post some screenshots. You don't have to go outdoors, just stand by the window if you can be bothered ;P

Actually, the photo of the whole phone with the case on and with running GPS Status app would be better though :p

Thanks

Ok, here's what I got with my Black Ops case on. I don't use GPS often, but here are some screen shots.

The first three (Bad, Poor, Good) took about 20 seconds to get a good GPS lock. Note that this was in a stopped car, under a tree, surrounded by tall buildings, and not necessarily under clear sky (the App's disclaimer indicates that you'll get the best GPS fix when you have clear view of the sky).

However, when the car was moving with a good GPS fix, it stayed consistent. The video is here:
http://youtu.be/dQagDbjFA70

Indoors, by a window in a building, the reading came up as a "Poor Fix".

This is hardly reliable science, but I hope it's somewhat helpful! LOL

Generally, I don't use GPS often, if at all, so the GPS performance is sufficient for me.
