True! Thanks for the quick response. I was just wondering, because it seemed way too cheap if it was a real one. The poster also said it was 1 week old, which made me doubt it even more. But the pictures taken made me a little curious since it had all the certification of authenticity and all the materials. Thanks again.

If it's really just a week old, he can return it and get a lot more than $65 for it. The certification means pretty much nothing since those are being faked as well. I would ask for a copy of the purchase order. Pictures can be faked. Keep in mind that fake white cases tend to yellow quickly also.

I just wanted to post this since a lot of people were wondering if these cases are purely for looks or if they offer any protection:

I own a black vapor comp, real deal straight from element; so I can't comment on the fakes but here we go:

I dropped my iP4S yesterday for the first time. Face down. On the concrete garage floor. No screen protector. I don't keep my garage clean, either, so there are tons of pebbles, dust, you name it. I nearly had a heart attack when I saw it happen, but the Vapor Comp protected my phone like a champ... this was a pretty forceful drop from at least 5 feet above ground. The case got an extremely minor scratch on one corner but it's barely noticeable. I can't believe it protected it so damn well!

Just thought I'd throw that out there. I bought the case more for looks and possible minor-drops onto carpet or whatever, because I don't normally drop my phone - but this thing protected it well for again, a pretty forceful drop. The phone sounded like it cracked it hit the ground so hard but I checked all over and not a single crack.

So for all you wondering - yes this case DOES offer protection. Maybe not the level of protection you'd get from a lifeproof or similar but it's nice to know that even though I don't plan on dropping my phone onto concrete; if it happens, this case will more than likely protect it.

One of the ways is to have the original receipt from Element Case as proof.

Vapor R8 Pro

Picked this case up from Element, real classy looking. I am noticing a slight decrease in wifi signal.

Ok so, I learned / realized that I came off as a total douche. Little Black Robot is a great reseller for Elementcase. The fact they have an Amazon Storefront just makes them that much greater and convenient.

I jumped the gun, much too soon really, everything was resolved, just beyond poor judgement on my part.

For those who read my post before I edited it, just erase that from memory, it was all simply a terrible misunderstanding. LBR only sells legitimate Elementcase cases, and Frank [owner] is beyond helpful in all definitions of the word.

I bought a Vapor Pro second hand I believe it's fake but I would like a second opinion. It has the shorter RF insert which I believe were from the first edition but far as I can see Element didn't do the first edition in all black. See pics below, any help appreciated.

I have two real Vapor Pros and I've had two fakes that were made in China. You are correct, the shorter RF insert did appear on some early real versions but not on the all black ones. All black was not offered as an option early in Vapor Pro production.

The finish appears rough in your first photo which is common on some of the fakes. Some appear to be painted rather than anodized. Even the real satin black "stealth" which is bead blasted and then anodized is not nearly that rough. Also the fit where the RF insert is pressed into the aluminum is much smoother and more flush on the real ones, in my experience.

Thanks for replying. I've also sent the pictures to Element to see what they have to say but you have confirmed my suspicions.

A real one should have a black power button switch also

Only if it's a Pro Stealth [which means no Vapor Pro text would be present] or BlackOPS [which means it would have an Orange poly cap].

I'm really leaning to fake, the text seems printed / painted and not laser etched :\

So for someone about to take delivery of the authentic element case black ops case, do you find the suede backing stick on piece difficult to keep clean and lint free and looking like new?

Should I put the suede backing on first or should I put the phone in the Black Ops Stealth frame and then try and line up the suede perfectly centered in the framed area?

How does this case look with the back uncovered except for having just a Power Support Crystal CLear film on it?

Thanks.

Well I bit the bullet! I have been looking at fakes for two weeks. Wife says to me you really want one of those cases don't you?
Her reasoning is as follows:
vapor pro stealth 150.00
Ultrasuede Back Plate - Black 15.00
minus 20% off coupon she found on the
minus the cost of an old razrV2 i sold
minus the over payment i made at the bank.
She says it really only cost 30.00 Same as the fakes! So listening to my beloved wife of 30 years I bit the bullet.

Enjoy Bill.

I'm loving my Black Ops case just received Friday! I agree with earlier posters about the lip should extend more over the front screen protector to eliminate that slight gap.

But I still love the overall look and feel. So far, reception seems excellent with no drop off.

I love my 2 vapors. 1 is a venom serial number 145 out of 250 and my wife's black and pink vapor pro. We switched carriers and went with droids this time. I am happy with the phones but have no use for my cases. Anyone interested??

And these are real and I have all the stuff that came with them including receipts.

Anyone experiance any signal loss with the Vapor COMP? I am thinking of ordering one. Not sure if I will use the suede back or not, might just leave that open with the power support crystal protectors I just ordered. Also, is tekcases a good place to order from? Anyone know of any discount promo codes or anything, 10% maybe? Looks like the REAL comp case starts at $99.99 but I was wondering if there is a code to bring that amount down at all.

No signal issues with the comp.

Which one did you get? Are you using the ultrasuede? Also, where did you buy it from if you don't mind me asking. I'm not sure which is the best place to order one from. I am thinking about getting the black or the silver for my black iphone 4s.

My vapor pro stealth shipped today! I thought processing took two days. Hoping it will be here by Friday, I can't wait.
