Hate speech is a left wing political idea. That is the issue. You can't just say "hate speech" and think everyone is going to agree and understand. It's a standard that was invented 5 minutes ago and doesn't work in the real world.
You may want to educate yourself a little https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hate_speech

"Starting in the 1940s and 50s, different civil rights groups responded to the atrocities of World War II by advocating for restrictions on hateful speech targeting groups on the basis of race and religion.[11]"

Did you not see all the kiddie porn that had to be removed from Twitter? Apple never said a word until Elon bought it. Totally fake outrage from Apple.
You act like child porn was all over in peoples face. I've never seen childporn on twitter. WTF are you doing that you actually saw child porn regularly? I'd also love to know HOW that was "magically taken care of" that somehow couldn't have been done like last month. Because likely anything that was implemented DID exist before Elon bought them and either was not finished or was not enabled yet. That is assuming that there really was a drop due to a change and not just people posting less of it due to being unsure how moderation/tracing was going to happen.

Also its very easy to find who you are on Twitter and anyone posting kiddy porn there is just a MORON on multiple other levels as well.

Apple should pull Twitter from the App Store and reinstate it after Musk shows Twitter's plan to deal with spreading lies, misinformation, and hate.

This is just enforcing your politics on to the whole world. Only the left side of politics agrees with you on this.

Why'd they allow it all these years without that rule in place? Seeing as nothing has actually changed there since he took over.
Musk reinstated a lot of banned accounts. That's a "change".

Live and learn, baby. It is now time to scrutinize information dissemination services like Twitter.

Maybe, but he’s also just trying to bully advertisers to backpedal on their decision to cut ties with Twitter.
They never had legit reasons to cut ties. Just pressure from activists groups. They are well within their rights to cut ties, but there's been no actual good reason for it thus far.

There has historically & publicly been a moderation system in place at Twitter. Now that he's gutted that, Apple wanting to know his new plan would seem to make sense? If this was a small one dev/person app, they'd flat out be banned. Done. I think Apple's really giving him the benefit of the doubt, you know, from a business perspective. His response to that is nothing more than childish. And that's to be expected from someone like him who's been easily handed or taken everything he has- and in some cases doesn't even have! He used the value of some of the Tesla stock as an investment to buy Twitter, but then tanked Tesla's stock by being a dick Twitter CEO LOLOL I mean...

And if you think nothing's changed on Twitter, you're not paying attention.

I’m not a fan of Elon, but he isn’t wrong. At some point our civilization started believing what was marketed the best rather than what is true. Sometimes the truth hurts at which point you grow up and become an adult.

Lol... Elon is a pro at "marketing" all kinds of total BS that is absolutely not true, and his followers eat it up. If you mention any of that on Twitter, you're probably getting banned, though.

Hey Elon, it's called freedom of choice. You don't like it apparently, so you try and blackmail Apple by trying to strong arm them on your platform and make baseless innuendos. Sounds like what the product of apartheid would do.

You can find any definition from as far back as you want, but everyone knows that the term hate speech as employed in modern politics is purely a left wing device to silence their political opponents.

The problem with censoring people based on the idea of hate speech is you need someone to define what hate speech is, and it is always going to be the people that you would least want to be the ones who define it. It doesn't work in a free society.

Anything you say that they disagree with, you're automatically racist, or homophobic or whatever else.
I've been called every buzzword in the book from people I never met just because I didn't agree with their viewpoints 100%. They have no idea what race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, etc I am but they decided on their own what I was.

Moderation has definitely dropped and hatespeach spiked up high. You cant fire like 2/3 of your company and "not change" anything. Sure, he did not REMOVE things, but they are clearly not going to work as intended with minimal staff left to do/inforce/implement them.

Musk keeps on doing his best drunk uncle at the holidays impression.

We here at Dewey, Cheatum and Howe are representing the Drunk Uncles of America and we are asking you to cease and desist from claiming that Elon Musk is as good as a drunk uncle.

Failure to stop will result in your being bound to a chair and forced to be in the room with Elon at Twitter listening to his utter nonsense. I think you will agree this is a fate worse than death.

:cool::p:oops:🙀

The reasoning here is actually a great one- Businesses are tired of seeing their ads for Charmin Toilet Paper or Cheerios side by side along with Nazis and White Supremacists. It's actually quit obvious really...

Musk has made it clear that he wants to allow content on Twitter that goes against Apple’s own established content guidelines. That is reason enough for them to leave.

Anything you say that they disagree with, you're automatically a socialist and they want to fist fight you.

See that works for the Right too.

The difference is you can just shrug it off and/or say nah I'm not a socialist and I'm not for violence. If you are labelled as a racist or homophobe, it is a serious attack on your character that many will automatically believe, and you have to do a lot of work to defend yourself. It's not the same at all.

Oh, I don't know - I think it is hilarious that Elon Musk uses a product of the the big bad company that is trampling all over his precious "free speech" rights.

😭😿

There are probably a lot of Apple employees driving Teslas too. Just because you like using an iPhone, doesn't mean you can't criticise what the company that made it is doing. Come on, what is this, elementary school?

Twitter is calling Elon "Major Strasser"

Does that make Tim Cook "Victor Laszlo"?
