Appears that Musk is trying to rile up his fanbase against Apple (looking at the Tweets to Musk's comments). Too many Musk fan people are upset now against Apple.
Maybe Musk doesn't want to pay Apple for any of the monthly Twitter subscriptions through the Apple app, which is the real reason Musk is riling up his fanbase?

Their decision would have nothing to do with how they feel about Musk. Their decision would be based on the fact that the Twitter platform is used to spread hate speech and lies. Trust me, Apple and Google don't give a damn about Elon Musk the man. They care about the apps which they give permission to operate on their iOS and android platforms and will protect the image of those platforms at all costs.
Did you not see all the kiddie porn that had to be removed from Twitter? Apple never said a word until Elon bought it. Totally fake outrage from Apple.

Should Twitter get to the point where its lack of moderation causes Apple and Google to remove it from their stores, Musk said that he will "make an alternative phone." He said that it hopes "it does not come to that," but will do so if there is "no other choice."

Is Elon looking to make an alternative phone? What does Elon Musk know about privacy and security much less a smartphone? SMH

You don't need an "new" phone platform, you can sideload Twitter on any Android device or just use the web.

I get that they don't have to support it. So pull your ads for it and delete your account. But they are saying "since we don't support it, we aren't going to let anyone use it." Seems a little off to me.
No, they are saying if you allow hate speech on your platform (which they are allowed), we will not host your app.

It's a waste of money only on Twitter because there is just too much negativity on Twitter. I was only referring to Twitter specifically.

There was already just as much negativity on Twitter before Elon bought it. The only difference is that the left side of politics no longer controls and censors it. That's it. By actual metrics, Twitter has more users, more active users, and less "hate speech".

No, you're talking about the first amendment. The first amendment is not synonymous with the concept of free speech.

Everyone should be in favor of free speech in online discourse.
The concept of free speech is what it is…a concept.
If you’re on a platform, in a business, or just at someone’s else home, they have every right to kick you out if they don’t like what’s coming out of your mouth or feel threatened.

Hate speech is a left wing political idea. That is the issue. You can't just say "hate speech" and think everyone is going to agree and understand. It's a standard that was invented 5 minutes ago and doesn't work in the real world.

I can't believe Alyssa Milano was such a huge fan of supposed "far right" member Elon Musk not too long ago. FimywFDWYAEmmW6.jpeg

Apple wants to promote its far leftist, pro gay agenda and doesn't like when someone calls them out on it. Previously, they enjoyed being promoted by liberal twitter engineers. If Apple isn't careful, they are going to end up in a major anti-tust, anti-competitive lawsuit if they block twitter. Elon has a lot of money, unlike Epic games to fight them.

Apple's stock dropped after Elon tweeted about this. This shows investors are not keen on Apple's actions.
Context is important. If you look at SPY it dropped 0.85% over the same time period that Apple dropped 1%. You're free to read into the market how you want, but if you're making investment decisions off of your analysis that investors don't like Apple no longer advertising on Twitter, I hope you don't mind losing money.

Hate speech is any speech that isn't in 100% agreement with their thought of the day.

Not saying it isn't there, but I don't follow anyone that shares child pornography and can honestly say I've never seen child porn on Twitter. You can really customize your feed by who you follow, so I'd only assume people following people that share child porn would see child porn. While folks like myself that follow artists, bands, and tech folks would only see art, music, and tech related stuff.

I’m not a fan of Elon, but he isn’t wrong. At some point our civilization started believing what was marketed the best rather than what is true. Sometimes the truth hurts at which point you grow up and become an adult.

Why does Apple think they have the right to influence speech on other peoples' platforms? This is a clear overreach and abuse of power. Twitter has not violated any terms of service. Permitting normal speech online is a good thing. It's crazy to me that leftists are so opposed to normal, mainstream viewpoints being shared online. Yikes.
This is a dumb take when TRUTH SOCIAL is in the App Store.

Maybe, but he’s also just trying to bully advertisers to backpedal on their decision to cut ties with Twitter.
