Apple doesn't care about the owner, they care about the user generated content, the moderation process of the app developer and how this affects Apple.

Apple doesn't care about the user who generated the content either.
Apple should care more about the curation on TikTok. From what I've read, TikTok has left numerous videos on its platform that detail how to easily carjack Kias and Hyundais, which have been stolen at very high rates for months now and then even used to commit further crimes, like bashing into gun storefronts with one stolen vehicle and escaping with the stolen goods in another stolen vehicle.

No, I fully get it. Since corporations are people and money is speech then they should have full control over the speech on their platforms up to and including complete censorship of one side. Anything else is compelling speech. If you’re ok with compelling speech then you can send me $200 as well.
Anyone looked at the Murdoch Press lately?

Looks like Apple is the baddies now or maybe they have been for some time. Did it start when they got in bed with communist China?

Are you just making up words and arguments now? What are you even trying to say.

Corporations are operated by people. Within the extreme bounds of the law, and governance charter, the corporation steers largely wherever those people want it.

Its well known the majority of folks in operating these companies have a political proclivity. Its readily apparent Musk has his also.

That means Apple does whatever it want. And Musk can do what he wants with Twitter.

Do you still need the charity?

F Musk! Free Speech /= Moral Speech. Yes people have the right to free speech but it doesn't mean what everyone says should be monetized and spread over social media to further hurt our democracy and society in general. There is a reason platforms have moderation as there are too many idiots in the country who believe anything they read on Twitter. I hope every company stops advertising on Twitter! Burn it to the ground!

What’s the problem then? Apple can do what they want. Musk can do with Twitter what he wants. I don’t get what argument you’re trying to make. You said people should be discussing how companies deal with popular versus unpopular speech. I said however they want, within the confines of the law.

I’m certainly not too good to turn down $200. Let me know if you need account details.

This is coming from the right that doesn’t like anyone of different sexuality, race, or their rights to their bodies...Censoring books, rewriting racist history, preventing other people from marrying who they want, and banning abortions.

EDIT: Oh and btw, literally tried to overthrow our government and tried to hang the Vice President just because your guy is a sore loser.
You’re basically full of it.

You couldn't be more wrong. Free speech is a principle that supports the rights of anyone to articulate their opinion without fear of retaliation or censorship.

The first amendment limits the US governments ability to curtail free speech.

Only dorks with bad arguments try to silence people.
Literal wording of the 1st amendment
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Translation: the government isn't allowed to make laws to censor people. It doesn't mean that everyone can run around shouting whatever they want and/or posting it online without consequences from their friends, family, employer, clients and etc. These people are still free to decide if they want to associate with you, listen to your bs or do business with you.

Did I suggest there was a problem? Or suggest what Apple/Twitter is or isn’t legally allowed to do?

I said people here should be debating the speech thing - what can be said on twitter - from a framework of principles and reason, not law. Whether/How the US Amendments applies to this is mostly pointless. No point cosplaying a law scholar.

Cant you be a man of faith and believe in free speech?
No. Because it’s always curated. Which is really the point. Of that situation and also that of Twitter and any public or private space.

We live in a society where we control the narrative by what we are allowed to say or do. And that’s about as free as we can be.

Taliban is on Twitter yet people lost their GD minds when Mr. Mean Tweets was allowed back on. Y'all some hardcore hypocrites.

Even outside of the law you do not and should not be able to force me to help you make speech with my resources that I own. Is that better for you?

Let’s be real. The left doesn’t like any speech that disagrees with their viewpoint and they want to shut it down.

No one is taking away your free speech, but everyone can decide for themselves what kind of crowd they want to hang out with. That goes for companies as well. Companies like Twitter and Apple. So Twitter has every right to have fascist shitbags on their network (free speech) and Apple has every right to not advertise or even ban Twitter from the App Store (also free speech). It has nothing to do with left or right, btw.

This will all backfire on him.

He only showing the world what a jackass idiot he really is.

Not claiming to know why Apple may be taking a position on moderation and App Store exclusion is pure BS - if it even happened at all.

His claims to make a rival telephone? Stochastic threats and boo hoo nonsense. Nobody who cares about personal privacy, security and reliability would touch a Muskphone.

Reports of him calling CEO’s and berating them? Business suicide. Just his tweets alone are enough to alienate advertisers by pushing them to advertise on whatever elsewhere that the current users flee to.

As soon as a decent alternative to Twitter arrives (just like Twitter, but easier to use than mastodon, maybe Post or some other?) people will be gone.

His ridiculous right wing rhetoric and lashing out will alienate potential Tesla customers just as traditional OEM’s are making the jump into EV’s.

His unpredictability and fascist leanings will alienate SpaceX launch customers just as both NASA and ESA develop the next generation of launch vehicles.

This jackass is proof positive why oligarchs are dangerous, a wealth tax and Eisenhower era marginal tax rates are a good thing.

Sooner he burns his wad and disappears into obscurity the better.

I hope Musk does develop his own phone and take some business away from Tim Cook and his censorship practices.
Order today to get on the 12 month waiting list.

Btw. It’s not Tim Cooks censorship, it’s Apple. And censorship is necessary to keep as much hate off the internet as possible. Or do you prefer it with the hate?
