I don’t think I’ve ever seen in my life such an example of someone who is voluntarily destroying his business, kamikaze style. Right now he is complete unhinged, he has openly threatened to shame ANY business who would stop advertising with him. I don’t think you can find any example in the history of business someone who is actively hostile against his own clients. He already lost 50% of his advertisers, right now he is tweeting frantically hostile stuff against Apple and Tim Cook, like a dozen tweets so far, and probably thinks that’s how he is going to change their mind.

Great way to attract advertisers, Elon Musk !👍 Keep doing what you’re doing, we’re going to enjoy watching Twitter sink like the Titanic when the other 50% of your advertisers leave.

Like how pre-Elon twitter kept censoring Libs of TikTok even though they just re-tweeted other's posts? Yet somehow not censoring the original tweet? That kind of "misinformation"?
Or the Hunter Biden laptop stories that turned out to be true? That "misinformation"?
I can go on.
Soon as i hear anyone pull a "but Hunters laptop" i stop giving a damn. So where is all this damning evidence? who is putting any of it to any use? What has it actually DONE or exposed that somehow no one knew before hand? Why does anyone care about Hunter at all?

The same people that scream "but her emails" and "but Hunters laptop" also do not give a damn "about his taxes" or "but his clearly proven lies" or "but his racist history" or "but how hes a scam artist" or "but how hes talked a lot about introducting policy then never introduced any" and until you do.... sit down and ****.

Loser? He loses 100 billion in stock and is still one of the richest people on the planet.... not a loser.

And he has way too many kids to be an incel. Stop projecting.
LOL.... i feel like anyone who uses the term 'incel' is projecting. It's also hilarious seeing someone use it as if like 'YES! I finally found the most insulting word against someone that isn't racist, homophobic, etc.'

Why does Apple think they have the right to influence speech on other peoples' platforms? This is a clear overreach and abuse of power. Twitter has not violated any terms of service. Permitting normal speech online is a good thing. It's crazy to me that leftists are so opposed to normal, mainstream viewpoints being shared online. Yikes.

They want their opinions and only their opinions to be allowed.

Care to elaborate? While this story was posted in the political news section, no where in the article are the political sides of "left" or "right" mentioned. No one is telling anyone to shut anything down here. Trying to understand your comment and its relevancy here.

It does not have to be Left or Right explicitly. All one has to do is read the comments. It is the Left who is freaking out that they cannot control what is said.

Twitter spend two years "banning for life" people who vulgarly criticized Biden, but people who vulgarly criticized Trump had no repercussion, with or without Blue Checks. Twitter also "banned for life" people who posted COVID info that ended up being proven true months/years later. Twitter interfered with election information regularly with explicitly partisan reasons and biases. Twitter showed they cannot be trusted to be a gatekeeper. People cheering for it are the ones who are wrong, as they have lost the difference between partisanship and principle.

I posted this before on this thread…but define hate speech…and give examples of racism and bigotry….
Here you go. Hate speech essentially incorporates it all, but the use of n word and anti-semitic posts all over the site are your examples. The anti-LGBTQ posts, covering as "anti-grooming" are particularly disgusting as well. All of it just diminishes other people. I understand why Apple wouldn't want to be a part of that. I guess the real question is why some people want to allow it.

Abusive or threatening speech or writing that expresses prejudice against a particular group, especially on the basis of race, religion, or sexual orientation.

The types of people you're describing are ones with an addiction to social media. Their lives wouldnt change drastically if Twitter went down. A business for example, that 'depends' on social media... would change drastically.

That said, who or what is depending on Twitter??

Do you realize that people use twitter for their businesses? I'm honestly shocked that you think there are people out there who don't depend on it as a source of advertising for them. When I say people I"m also referring to businesses as they are ran by people. But whatever, we are done here.

Something to keep in mind. What Elon Musk tweets on his company stream may be false, or even a lie he has laboriously invented. Note: Musk has gone so far as to photoshop together a CNN headline which never appeared, and then tweeted it as if it were a true "screenshot". It's okay with me to not read stories about this guy. Because now, Twitter is just a guy.🍸😹. p.s. I am logged in here through twitter, but my account only works half the time. It won't be long now, so, evryone, it's been real!

It is not just Apple, but all of Silicon Valley. The people are are the most ideological inbred, close-minded, and use their centralized organizations to enforce specific communication modes and content. They think they control everything, and even worse are convinced they are entitled to.

The mainstream is Left. The western world is left leaning. Maybe you should re-educate yourself on what these "normal mainstream viewpoints" are before you endorse them.

If Elon is "far right" as some here say, why did liberals bow down and praise him just a few years ago? You know before the media told them not to? You're telling me he went from liberal sweetheart to far right in the past few years?

I get the sense "far right" now just means anything but 100% liberal.

He didn't photoshop anything.

And the pretentious dolts who take offense at everything need to re-learn humor and sarcasm.

Twitter is not just a guy - that is your excuse to not be aware of a much greater world.

'Free Speech' includes the right *not* to advertise on Twitter.

The only guarantee of free speech one has is from the government. The government cannot you for your speech. The principle of free speech does not apply to the private sector.

Apple does a lot of business with China. It’s no surprise they don’t like free speech.

Musk is showing us just how much corporations control our thoughts. He’s risking his wealth and status to do so. I didnt have strong opinions about him before he bought Twitter. But he is really impressing me with his dedication to free speech.
Lol @ the amount of dislikes you get. It’s absolutely bonkers! Your analysis is spot on btw! Freedom of Speech is under attack. Massively! Scary times for sure.

Ever been to r/conservative on Reddit? They ban you if you do not 100% agree with all talking points. They have banned people for being "too liberal" when literally quoting the founding documents. Same with most "conservative" alternatives to Twitter. So do NOT pretend it's a Left only thing. The Right 100% does it as well and is more blatant about it, yet still complains when its done to them and denies they do it.
