Ha yes, the very poor college kid with a daddy who owned half a smaragd mine and was wealthy enough to have a private plane and the biggest house in pretoria who could leave south-africa to avoid his army duty and then left school to found several businesses.

(And before any of his fans try to deny it because Elon has been publicly denying the emerald mine story for the last couple of years, back in 2014 he talked about it himself in a Forbes interview: https://web.archive.org/web/2014090...cret-of-success-hint-it-aint-about-the-money/ )

Ah yes, the wealthy father who paid for his college… wonder why he was working blue collar jobs to pay tuition.

Things are never black and white.

From Wikipedia.

“Musk arrived in Canada in June 1989 and lived with a second cousin in Saskatchewan for a year,[36] working odd jobs at a farm and lumber mill.[37] In 1990, he entered Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario.[38][39] Two years later, he transferred to the University of Pennsylvania(UPenn), where he completed studies for a Bachelor of Arts degree in physics and a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the Wharton School.[40][41][42][43] Although Musk claims he earned the degrees in 1995, UPenn maintains it awarded them in 1997.[44] He reportedly hosted large, ticketed house parties to help pay for tuition, and wrote a business plan for an electronic book-scanning service similar to Google Books.[45]

Now Elon haters should say thank you for helping creators earn more money.

What kind of mental gymnastics are they going to pull now to justify their hate?

Do they hate on Apple for not allowing sideloading or hate the billionaire space man? Decisions decisions...🤣
Elon has yet to succeed in a business without government welfare.

Nope, never said Apple should. It's 100% Apple's decision.

But clearly there's a huge market Apple is ignoring simply because the 30% of the total subscription exceeds the fees the content platform charges creators which is why Patreon doesn't even have in-app purchases. Same goes for Wordpress. 30% of the "platform fee" instead of "total revenue" is very logical to me and would probably boost Apple's profits.

Ultimately I think Elon should just band with other app developers to leave the App Store in protest to force Apple's hand. Let the market forces work.
I agree, let the market forces work.

However, that has never been how Elon works and it wont happen now. He is just going to cry and whine and try to bully like he did with PayPal and Tesla.

The original x.com wasn’t a failure. PayPal just didn’t like the name.
The orioginally X was absolutely a failure and lead to Elon being removed from PayPal as its CEO.

He wanted PayPal to adopt t he X brand and then expand beyond payments to an an everything place. That everything place never happened nor did X.

$15k is a preorder to lock in the price before they inevitably raise the prices again. And what does that have to do with this topic?
Musk is raising prices on a product that doesn't exist (and IMHO never will since it's locked to the cars it's purchased on) but wants Apple to lower their App Store pricing because he doesn't want to pay it. The creator fee is actually an interesting proposition, but I get irritated at his App Store policy bashing given the way he runs his own businesses.

Apple should agree but request in exchange Elon puts apple carplay on all teslas and uses apple maps! Would be 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Someone makes $100k on Twitter then Apple takes $30k cut just for processing the transaction. Good for Apple and painful for creators.

That's what a preorder is, you pay for a product that currently does not exist. And you get perks like lower price and features. The final price of FSD is looking to be around $30k.

(and IMHO never will since it's locked to the cars it's purchased on)

Actually you can transfer FSD. People already did and upgraded to the HW4 chip:

Regardless that's just a personal prediction and if it never happens, there's obvious consequences (class action lawsuit would be an easy win)

but wants Apple to lower their App Store pricing because he doesn't want to pay it.

Again, not sure what that has to do with FSD.

I don't see the relation to his own business. He's been going against shareholder desires and instead are constantly lowering prices of Tesla cars instead of just doing a TV ad campaign which so far Tesla still has never done before. This hurts their margins and shareholders aren't happy.

Goodluck with that Elon.

How is Apple providing traffic to Twitter/X. Who is using Twitter/X because of Apple?

Apple helps drive traffic to Twitter/X at least a couple of ways.

One way is by actively posting/reposting/replying on Twitter/X through its multiple accounts.

Another is by allowing the X app in the App Store. Apparently, around 80% of Twitter/X users view content via a mobile device and Apple is a major player in the mobile space.

I am sure if Apple removed all of their Twitter/X accounts and banned the X app from the App Store (not that they should or would want to do either), it would notably impact traffic going to Twitter/X.

It’s fun and trendy to hate on Elon Musk.

If it were anybody else, say, an anonymous person asking for lowering fees it would be applauded… but since it’s Elon asking for lowering the fees, SUDDENLY people don’t want lowering such fees for creators.
I bet you that if Musk asked for 3rd party AppStore and side loading suddenly nobody wants sideloading anymore…

It is what it is, and no, I have said it many times, I’m no Elon fan and I do get behind the 15% fee lowering that Apple did some time ago, I would totally get behind this endeavor too… if possible that is, so why not knock on that door.
