Lets search then.

but moyank already searched this room, and found nothing (except the goon with the gun, who now is presumably on the floor)

i was asking ravenvii if a search could possibly yield anything different from moyank search (like a key on the dead goon), but from his answer and moyank post i would conclude that anything that's there would have also come out from Moyank's search (in other words her search is exactly like our explore move)

moyank, do yo have unlimited searches? is it only limited by the chance of getting caught if a goon is in the room? can you search two multiple rooms in the same room? what about the room we have been to?

for example, could you search the stairs room we just came from?, we know there are no goons in there, but maybe there is something.
depending on the search mechanism to might be worth to back-search every room, and/or perspectively look into every new room/ corridor

you can get hurt, but i can heal you and even resurrect you (with some limits), the drawback is that we might not level up as a group, but only you do

I think us leveling up as a group is important. I know when I was a villain in the previous EM game my greatest fear was the group leveling up. With one level up it means 6 additional AP and HP when we stick together as a group.

I could be wrong, but I doubt the keys are on the goons. They might be protected by a goon, but I doubt they are physically on a bad guy unless it's Sceptical or the Enforcer.

I say we check the room to the right of the North/South hallway. At least we can add to the map. If you all think we should have Moyank sneak in there first then that's an option. Moyank do you have unlimited sneaking/searching?

I wonder if this might be a time to split up? If we have to search for keys, maybe we should try and do it while we're still having 4 turns.

Just a thought.

----------

Oh, true, we'd be leveling while we search, so maybe it's best just to be patient and stick together.

Patience is really not one of my virtues. ;)

one more thing, moyank, when you search a room would you pick up any stuff in it, or do just find out it is there?

in any case, before the next search move, let me know and i'll drop the +3 gun so moyank can pick it up

p.s.; i agree with mscriv, let's go in the room on the right

Il Don here,

My keys are across the mansion. My people have the keys, my rooms have the keys. Since you were never invited to my mansion, it is obvious my most private part of the mansion is sealed off. Go back. Quit.

If you still consider yourself foolish, you won't find them up here. However, my Enforcer will never let you have them.

better locka yourself up. we are coming for ya

So if we have to get the keys from the enforcer, the question is do we have enough HP and AP to take him down?

I don't know that we can trust anything Jav says. According to the rules he's not even supposed to be talking. It could be true or he could be trying to throw us off. It's possible that there is one key and it's possible that there are multiple keys. At this point the only way to know is to be thorough in our efforts to search all the rooms.

Side note: I couldn't talk because the enforcer was supposed to do the talking. Now that I dont have one (human) I have to speak to you guys directly. However at a very limited sense.

I wasn't lying. You need keys, but where, where, where could they be? Good luck upstairs tho. I have many surprises still. You are all just off to an easy start.

I'm actually waiting for some clarification from raven as well - regarding searching. Though, I don't believe I can actually pick anything up...But I'll let you know when he comes back with a response.

And, yes, I can come and go as I please. Do you want me to scout the room before we go in? If so, let me know and i'll send the request to raven.

Others can chime in with what they think, but I guess I'm still unclear as to how your ability works. You can scout ahead, but sometime you can get caught and if you do get caught then you are stuck in a battle on your own. When you do scout you are able to see what is in a room including both treasure and goons. Does that pretty much sum it up?

I guess what I'm unclear on is if there are limits to your abilities? Does sneaking tell you how powerful the goon in the room is? If there are objects that would require us to "explore" to find them are they seen by you when you sneak into a room? What determines whether you get caught or whether you can stay hidden?

Sounds about right. FYI - my ability has a similar caveat in that there's a 25% chance the torture fails and someone is alerted.

what happen when 'someone is alerted'

also, the enforcer also was not supposed to speak (although i am not sure whether the don being silent had a purpose or not). the Consigliere (SS) was supposed to be the only one 'doin da talk'

for the time being, i would just ignore anything Jav says.
...and in the future too :D:p:D

Let me clarify. I can torture a goon and s/he will reveal who and what is in the next room. There's a 1 in 4 chance the torture will fail, and if it fails, the goon will scream loud enough to bring whoever is in the next room running, and presumably, I'll (we'll) get attacked.

With the group of 4 of us, it seems like a chance we should take - and I've let raven know I have my "toolkit" ready.

we are 6 and it seems that even if it fails it could still be a good thing in most cases.
if you torture a goon with multiple adjacent rooms , do you find out stuff about all of them?

Yes, but do we want Moyank to search it first? It would seem that the only time she runs the risk of getting caught is if it's a hallway where she has nowhere to hide. Thoughts?

Not true - I have the same caveat as the Queen does. 25% chance of being seen.

But I'll sneak if you'd like - just let me know.
