    Ah, missed that---thank you!

My poor brother in law just bought a new Air last night from some discount outlet in NY--hopefully, he can cancel his purchase!

I'm also sure this was planned out a few years in advance---probably when they realized they were going to remake the Air.

Apple just stated they modified the keyboard with a new material so you literally have no clue about its future performance.

A couple dozen (or even a couple hundred) complainers here on MR forums (or Reddit) don’t affect Apple’s plans in the least.

Nah the Air started at $1199. It is now $100 cheaper starting at $1099 and is $999 if you’re a student.

See my above response. A discount outlet in NY? Hopefully they have a good return policy.

Perhaps not as many people are complaining about it as the Apple centric internet thinks?

No. You can get 16GB if you want it.

So regarding the Eurasian database filing, it’s 2 down, 5 to go?

I was just testing that and it looks like the 2 and 4TB SSD updates got price cuts...

Oh, I doubt it. It was one of those places that also sells on eBay. He's probably frucked.

    1. Of course it's a small percentage. With millions of devices sold, that's still a lot, and with the amount of attention the keyboards get obviously Apple strives to bring that percentage down by iterating on the design.

    2. "Rumoured" isn't "confirmed".

Again, if they’ve had to revise this keyboard 4 times, I think it’s reasonable for me to have doubts about its reliability. No need to keep shilling for Apple.

Except for the keyboard and display cable, I'm glad I have the 2017 MacBook Pro with the T1 chip :).

In the face of this terrific news, I see many of the typical hate-bags here at MR come out of their caves to complain, especially about the Touchbar, which I love, by the way. I guess price cuts, with formerly pricey add-ons now included, are somehow...bad?

Knowing how Tim Cook operates maybe this has more to do with eliminating supply? Though they just added this touchbar stuff to sidecar so maybe they are trying to make it happen.

I do. I just want them to make an external keyboard with it already.

I was really hoping the next round of updates would have included the 8 core i9 from the 2019 15" MBP in the Mac Mini. An 8 core Mini with external GPU would be awesome!

90% of people's complaints with the TouchBar would be solved if Apple slightly shortened it to include a physical escape key.

I really hate the touchbar as I often accidentally brush my fingers against the function keys. I have set the F keys to launch/hide different apps using Alfred 4. I loved this Alfred feature with my Macbook 12 and now it is unusable.

A magic keyboard with number pad and a huge touchbar along the entire top of it. Think of all the Affinity Designer tools or a long Final Cut Pro timeline it could fit!

Also, it needs to come in space grey.
