70% is significantly higher.after tax you looking at 400-500k, point is 30% is rather high.

There is nothing valid here. The guy makes a valid point & your answer is this?
Doesn't Google Play also take a 30% cut?1) This is a website designed for Apple enthusiasts so it isn't weird to find people here who are fans of Apple. it is weird however to find the opposite.
2) Developers are not being forced to be in the App Store, they are choosing to be there. 30% cut is the deal upfront, it isn't a hidden thing. If they don't like it, they don't join the store. Simple as that.
No clue, wouldn't surprise me thoughDoesn't Google Play also take a 30% cut?
Actually, if an app makes 1M, Apple's cut is reduced to 15%. For smaller developers.only 30% lmao, if an app makes 1m apple takes 300k.
Why do so many people here support these blanket taxes Apple / Google impose on the creative development work from developers for mobile customers,
you're saying the developers wouldn't survive without the app store? you guys are giving the app store way too much credit here 😂70% is significantly higher.
actually, if an app makes less than 1m, apple's cut is reduced to 15%, for smaller developers.Actually, if an app makes 1M, Apple's cut is reduced to 15%. For smaller developers.
Now you're just being pedantic.actually, if an app makes less than 1m, apple's cut is reduced to 15%, for smaller developers.
Yeah, but if you have to put prices up to meet the new rent it’s the same thing.Uh no. Since when does a landlord have the ability to dictate the prices the business leasing the space has to charge?
We’re not talking about rent.
can't help it if facts are on my side 😂Now you're just being pedantic.
or, how about this, you just don't sideload yourself, and let the rest of us who does be, not a hard concept to get around no?If you want a **** App Store and the ability to install any number of garbage apps on your phone, go buy an android. Leave the better experience with iPhones to those of us who appreciate it.
The Billion iOS users that Apple has built an enormous amount of trust. Remember, any company can create their own platform and attract their own customers and have them signup directly and offer a free app that accesses their platform. Think Netflix or even Spotify. If they need Apple to acquire customers or Apple’s API and platform, they should and will pay a commission.Tim finally spoke the real truth....
Actually, it's called the "Exchange rate" and since the US dollar is the defacto base currency and Apple is a US company, they use the dollar as the gauge to keep other prices consistent. Well mostly. It's called inflation mr Sweeney Todd. Since 2007 99 cents is now worth more than $1.40. So with these new prices apps are actually cheaper now than they were in 2007 when the iPhone launched. The App Store actually launched 2008, so inflation since then means 99 cents is now worth $1.36. Raising the prices helps developers more than Apple, because developers get 70% cut of their app sales, Apple only gets 30. Of course if you can't or refuse to sell your app on the App Store then you get 0% and Apple gets 0%, so no one wins there.
And, more to the point, the developer sets a price and (shocker) Apple marks it up to get a 30% cut. Just like any store does. And the developer makes 700k. What’s your point?
And Apple tells the developer the terms upfront. Some people in here act like they steal the money from the dev. And, more to the point, the developer sets a price and (shocker) Apple marks it up to get a 30% cut. Just like any store does.
The developer gets whatever price they want for the app.
