Nah, all other countries that mater will follow the eu and implement something similar. Apple’s monopoly is over.Innovations will happen outside of the the EU.

Ok. There is no monopoly. It’s true Japan mandated something similar to the EU by the end of 2025. But there again I believe there will be some nuances. However what you wish for may not happen.Nah, all other countries that mater will follow the eu and implement something similar. Apple’s monopoly is over.
Ok. There is no monopoly.
That’s not a monopoly as you can go to different hardware and buy that app. For example I can get the WSJ app on different platforms.Sure there is. I have exactly one place I can buy apps on my hardware.

Completely acceptable. Buy an android then. You can do what you want with the hardware. You don’t own the software. On my hardware, which I own, I cannot buy apps from somewhere else. Unacceptable.
The only thing that causes innovation is competition. Apple should be looking to make the App Store more enticing to developers rather than beating them with a stick for leaving.
You only need look at the stagnation in OS development caused by the iOS/Android duopoly to see what I mean. Their last big competitor was Windows Phone. This caused Apple to drop skeuomorphism and Android to finally tidy up what was a very messy OS. They were shaken by a competitor and we all benefited. Every OS 'innovation' from them both in the last decade has just been whatever they could pick from the carcass of WebOS.
Then why did you buy an iPhone, you knew how the platform worked before you bought the hardware. On my hardware, which I own, I cannot buy apps from somewhere else. Unacceptable.

I’m sure you are not a bot, and you are either ok with or against closed platforms. You can't allow some to have closed platforms and say other companies can't.you can tell who is a bot or a child if they compare iphones to game consoles when complaining about anti trust regulations
I'm more interested when I can just install an .ipa from anywhere I want, without any store or middleman checks.
We’ve been over this: you own the hardware, but license the software. You don't get to do whatever you want, and you agreed to that the day you turned the phone on.No, I own my iPhone, therefor I should be able do what I want. If Apple doesn't want to let me download others apps, they should provide a way to let me replace the OS.
It needs to be one or the other.
It doesn't matter why.
Agreed.I’m sure you are not a bot, and you are either ok with or against closed platforms. You can't allow some to have closed platforms and say other companies can't.

Wait till you want to change something to your house, but then you need a permit, else you cannot do it. "But it's my house, I own it, I can do whatever I want with it!!!!"No, I own my iPhone, therefor I should be able do what I want. If Apple doesn't want to let me download others apps, they should provide a way to let me replace the OS.
It needs to be one or the other.
It doesn't matter why. I'm against closed platforms across the board. No exceptions.
You are free to build your own phone; all the hardware is available. And again, then let me do what I want with the hardware.
I can't, because they bootlock the device to prevent it. Give users access to other stores, or give users access to the hardware.
You are free to build your own phone; all the hardware is available.
Good luck with that, but the world doesn't work that way. You're missing the point; I own the hardware. That's all the matters, end of story. Apple doesn't own it, I do.
No company should be able to dictate what I do with my possessions. Not a single one.
I agree. Its crap I can't play Zelda on my Xbox!On my hardware, which I own, I cannot buy apps from somewhere else. Unacceptable.
Epic is the main reason Apple was forced to open the iPhone. Epic won the battleDo the Macrumors editors know that other games exist beyond Epic and Fortnite?
That's nice, but completely wrong. You're missing the point; I own the hardware. That's all the matters, end of story. Apple doesn't own it, I do. I didn't license the hardware, or rent it, or finance it, I bought it.
No company should be able to dictate what I do with my possessions. Not a single one.
That's nice, but completely wrong.
Maybe you should sell your iPhone and get an Android? No one forced you to buy and keep an iPhone.
