Well, no luck again this morning. They keep telling me my EID says unrecognized. My phone was purchased directly from Apple as a T-Mobile phone paid in full. Would this matter?

Did you try my steps? I had the same issue and I got it to work.

Yes. I get "This code is no longer valid. Contact your carrier for more information."

I tried this and it worked but data is not working. I see that the line is enabled and set for voice and data. This is Tmobile. Any one else?

I am now set up on eSim. If I go to sell my phone (i.e. Craigslist or to a friend), how do I get my esim info out? Do I just reinitialize my software.

Before esim, I would erase/reinitialize the software and remove my sim card.

Yes they can. But not group between the two different lines

You will need to remove the eSIM profile before doing so, since reinitializing your phone will not clear your eSIM profile data. There are instructions in @M.Rizk's post here:

In this case, you need to remove your eSIM profile from the existing device before registering your eSIM profile on the new device. Do not simply restore your phone. Restoring your phone through iTunes will not erase the eSIM!
You need to go in Settings > General > Reset.
There, you have two choices:
- Remove All Data Plans, then restore by any method or
- Erase All Content and Settings, and click "Erase All" when prompted.

That’s strange. I went and tested this and it dropped the first call. I also don’t get call waiting alerts. The call goes straight to voicemail on the callers end.

Same here. I tried calling it out of different lines and it didn’t work. Tried calling out of the same line as call #1 and it dropped the first call.

My husband pulled the physical sim out and then it worked.

I think you CAN, but only the primary will fall back on CDMA if no LTE coverage.

It just mean the device must be unlocked to use different carriers. Otherwise, you're limited to one carrier but you can add 2 cellular plan with the same carrier. Dual SIM function will work differently on CDMA if there 2 lines.

Yah I know what the former portion of the paragraph is saying, it's the latter about CDMA that isn't very clear.

It’s very confusing. All I know is that some people on Reddit have posted screenshots showing TWO Verizon lines working, which goes against what that information from Apple says. I’m not for sure, but maybe that’s working for them because both lines are from the SAME CDMA carrier. Or maybe it only poses a problem when not on LTE.
