My Tracking was updated at 12:37 with On FedEx vehicle for delivery, whereas the estimated arrival time still says 4:30. The location is coming from about 15-20 minutes from my house but I'll bet they won't deliver it until the end of their route.

Most of your orders might have been updated as well.

I got the same thing. I called FedEX and explained everything. And they came back at delivered it at 11:06 A.M.

Bug FedEX! Let them know you need it today.

At 10:09, I got the "Delivery Exception - Future Time" thing. At 11:21 I got "Delivery Exception - Customer Not Available" with a note saying it will be attempted again on Monday. I am sitting right here -- no one knocked.

At 11:30 I called FedEx and got a rep on the line without much of a wait. She couldn't figure out what the driver had done or why, but determined that my package is at a nearby FedEx facility. They have it sitting out waiting for me and I am on my way to go get it.

BOTTOM LINE: If you are getting the Exception notices, call FedEx and find out where your package is. You may be able to pick it up yourself today since it looks like they are dead serious about delivering on Monday.

By the way, I'm in Atlanta and I noticed someone upthread got theirs delivered this morning in Atlanta. I guess whether you get yours depends on how busy your particular driver is today or how hard he hit the bong this morning!

Success! I have it my grubby paws!

If you are in doubt of whether you will get it today and live anywhere near a FedEx distribution center, call and tell them to hold it for you and go get it!

I just called too, the fedex women was very nice and asked their team. she told me the product from apple since being so big and so many was late delivery to them and they were unable to guarentee a shipment date by 10:30am.

BUT

it will be delivered today sometime( they hope)

:)

oh well. fedex should have know they hit there limit with such a apple following. they just got a dose of apple and how big there following is. :)

I'll install it tonight after I get off work(if it comes today)

I wonder what fedex exec made that deal have all delivered by 10:30am.

I wonder since fedex is not following through on some orders what kind of refund for a mass shipping APPLE will get.

Mine was on a truck set for delivery by 10:30 am and then it got delayed til 4 pm by requested delay? WTF. Dam Apple. I wanted to be able to install it and play with it before I had to go to work. Now that doesnt look possible.

I too have been awaiting my delivery. I came to work and checked the FedEx tracking.

It had a "Delivery exception" as 8:43am ("Incorrect address").

Needless to say, I was PISSED, especially since the Apple receipt for the order clearly states my address.

I called FedEx, and the very nice and apologetic lady said they only had my apartment number listed.

How in God's name is that possible?

Well, she said I could pick it up in Moonachie, NJ later today or tomorrow. I live in Hoboken, NJ and don't have a car. I wasn't in the mood to pay for a Zipcar just to pick up software. The reason I pre-ordered Leopard from Apple (instead of picking one up at the Apple Store, CompUSA, or J&R) was because of the corporate discount. Having to get a car to drive to Moonachie to pick it up would be stupid.

So I gave her my proper address. At first I thought they would still deliver today, but she said it would have to be delivered on Monday.

That, like, totally ruined my morning.

I'm...glad...?...that I'm not the only one who is experiencing this problem, not that I wish this ill on anyone else. But reading this forum, I decided to check the FedEx tracking again.

Strange. As of 12:09pm, it's "On FedEx vehicle for delivery". Perhaps I called early enough to fix the problem. I might just get it today after all (I wanted to have the weekend to upgrade my MPB with Leopard on the new 250GB HD I bought for it).

As someone else noted, it indeed sounds like Apple broke FedEx.

Whatever. Just get me my bloody software delivered! ;)

Oh for cryin' out loud, this is not Apple's fault! These were shipped via Priority Overnight, which is supposed to guarantee delivery by 10:30 AM the next day (as opposed to Standard Overnight, which is by 4:00 PM the next day). The "future delivery requested" is not a request from Apple, it's a request to Apple. FedEx is having a lot of trouble handling the massive amounts of shipments and they can't get them delivered by the 10:30 deadline, so they're requesting that Apple waive that deadline so they can have more time to get them out. Otherwise FedEx will get hit with all sorts of penalities for missing the time deadline on about 1 million packages.

Calm down. You'll get it today.

Mine said Exception as well but, then it arrived about a couple hours later... Unfortunately I'm at work and can't install it until I get home tonight... It's gonna be a long day indeed.

They deserve to get hit with the penalties as well as cancer and they should've allowed some people to pay for priority overnight and made free shipping standard overnight. I would gladly have paid for actual service and for Fedex to make the real commitment time.

Getting it today is not the issue, I should've gotten it by 10:30. If I only wanted to get it today, I would've gone to the Apple store and just bought it in person.

I have to agree with this. If it says delivery by 4pm you may get it at anytime today.

That's fine, but that's not Apple's fault. This is a FedEx issue. I'm sure if Jobs sat down with the FedEx guy and asked if they could handle all of these packages via priority overnight and Mr. FedEx said "hmm..dunno," Steve would not have done it this way.

The release is at 6pm, if you get it sooner without paying for shipping then you have NO complaint.

I never said it was Apple's fault, the conspiracy theorists who thought Apple wanted to make us wait until 6 said that.

I would gladly have PAID for shipping to get it sooner. That was my point. I don't really like the way this was handled- let free shipping be what you said and let paid shipping be when Fedex actually makes the 10:30 commitment time. Standard Overnight is still by 3 (4:30 in some areas).

Anybody else have this reported in their Leopard package tracking? Originally I had this morning by 10:30am, but I was just recently updated with a Delivery Exception "Future Delivery Requested" and now my delivery time is pushed back to 7pm today. Apple trying to make sure EST folks receive it as close to 6pm as possible? Only thing I can think of as I surely never made a late delivery request.

Yep, I got that. It went from 10:30AM to 4PM. I called up FedEx and they said since it was priority overnight shipping it was to be delivered like when everything else that's priority overnight, but Apple made them delay it till later in the day. Plus they waived the required signature too.

Edit: The guy also said they had some 250,000 deliveries of Leopard to handle too.
