Ah right so if that’s the case then where is Microsoft’s competition in the desktop world?

why is google not dominating in china & other companies do
Does that mean in china these companies produce better products than google?
Google doesn’t compete in China because they don’t want to have to abide by the Chinese government’s rules. They pulled out of the market rather than agree to the government’s demands.

No they are actually still in china
However as a consequence of that other companies directly compete on a level playing field

So in turn you actually have better innovation because of it from search engines to mobile operating systems

@surferfb is correct. The fact that they have a presence in China is irrelevant. Their main product is not available there. And sure others will step in to fill the void. Of course it's much easier to fill the void with a software only solution, than a hardware and software solution.

What does that even mean?
Right so what you’re basically saying is the only way to stop Google’s search engine dominance is by to have restrictions on it & as a consequence of that other providers have seen their user base grow

It’s the exact same in the mobile operating system category in china as there are actually 3 competing companies not just 2
So who would have thought that it’s easier for competition in china than it is in the west

No, the way to stop google dominance is to make people hate the product. Same as iphone. Both a popular due to consumer choice. If one wants to compete the competitors also have to make a popular product.

Sure we've all seen what government regulations can do. Ban a product and have local companies fill the void.

Right if that’s correct about the iPhone being popular then how come it’s not that popular in china & often discounted
yet it’s not banned

In regards to search then I don’t think it’s wrong if countries want their own products prioritized what’s wrong with that
Plus bing actually competes in china

That Apple sells hundreds of millions of iphones a year, means it's popular. It doesn't mean it is popular on every square inch of land on earth and is more popular in some places than others.

There is nothing wrong with any country having their own search. If they want a sub-par search experience, let 'em have it.

Right the iPhone is popular but as I said it’s not that popular in china because there are 3 mobile operating systems to choose from

Right but how do you know it’s a sub par experience have you actually used it
Based on experience?

It’s called government control.

By extension it wouldn't be popular either if there were two major operating systems to from. OS3>-OS2->IOS which is what you are saying.

Based on experience?
Yes, based on experience that google has the most breadth and most depth.

It’s called government control.
Right it’s called government control to allow 3 competing mobile operating systems in a country?
Yet in the west there is only 2 right but I thought you were for competition in mobile

Right so one minute you’re accusing the EU on relying on other countries products like search engines & then it’s government control when a country prioritizes a search engine in there own country

Right it’s called government control to allow 3 competing mobile operating systems in a country?
Yes to promote their own operating system first.
Yet in the west there is only 2 right but I thought you were for competition in mobile
That still is competition. And of course nothing is stopping any company from developing their own operating system. That would be competition.
Right so one minute you’re accusing the EU on relying on other countries products like search engines & then it’s government control when a country prioritizes a search engine in there own country
The two are being conflated in a non-logical manner. The EU regulating tech is not comparable to China regulating it's people.

No what I’m saying is because there are actual 3 mobile operating systems in china then as a consequence of that Apple discount there iPhones in store because they don’t sell as well.

Right so you have had experience using the most popular search engine in china to compare it to Google’s then

right so you think the Chinese OS is the most popular mobile os in china because it’s not however it is more popular than another.

But it does actually matter because why is there 3 mobile operating systems in china & yet in the west there is only 2
A bit strange that.

Right but it actually does because the way the market is setup in the west the EU are having to go down this route because google essentially has no competition
So unless the EU turn into china and regulates for a dedicated European search engine to be mandatory then this is what is going to happen

I know history and current events. You are nonsensical.
Right so these past few days you have said look at history & competition will come through don’t worry
Yet I’ve pointed out that the only country that has 3 major operating systems your now saying that’s not right yet it’s actual competition for google & apple

You then said the EU should make it’s own search engine & not rely on America & china so they should make their own
I then said china have their own search engine & it gets prioritized you then said that’s government control.

I understand that is speculation.
Right so you have had experience using the most popular search engine in china to compare it to Google’s then
Yes, a widely used search engine (Baidu) that filters much of the worlds content does not meet the breadth and depth criteria.

Right so it’s now speculation that iOS is in 3rd place in china regarding market share
Yet the evidence is online

Right but have you actually used baidu as a search engine because how do you know it’s poor if you have never used it.

Yes, it's complete speculation as to the cause.

Seems to me common sense, that a search engine that eliminates/filters the world's content does not have the breadth and depth of google. So yeah, a popular search engine in a vacuum.

Right so it’s speculation as to why the 3rd operating system has 1 billion active users and it’s not do with its an actual good product?

Right so it’s seems common sense to you
But you don’t actually know if it’s a good experience based on never having used it
Right
But it’s got a market share of about 70% so if it was a bad experience then people wouldn’t use it then?

Well it's your speculation as to why? I can probably dig up quite a few posts using chatgpt that claim or insinuate people use iphones because they are the best of the worse and there is no way to prove people think they are the best of the brest.

Google has a breadth and depth of product and services, which is why it's probably so popular. Can you prove other search engines have the same breadth and depth? I'm guessing not, but just being contrarian for contrarians sake.

Right so its speculation as to why people would pick this OS over iOS in Asia and not because they actually view it as a better product
But when people pick iOS it’s because it’s a better product?
Right

I don’t get what you mean?
Baidu has a market share of over 70% and you’re saying it’s a sub standard experience yet you have never used it & it can reach a population of about 1.4 billion people just in one country.
Yet google is pre installed on every android device & it’s the default for safari and you don’t see any wrong with that
And yet when a country prioritizes its own search engine there’s a problem

It’s a communist country! What don’t you understand about that? Consumerism does not exist in China.
Now I’m convinced you’re trolling. You cannot possibly be serious. 🤣

If that’s the case then why is android the most popular mobile os in china
Then harmony os
Then iOS in 3rd
Because you have a choice

Then in search engine it’s baidu
Then bing and then others
Because google are in china however they give priority to a Chinese search engine

Hence why as I have consistently mentioned that in the west it’s very unlikely that a 3rd party will manage to either make a OS to compete with apple & google as its only in china that there is competition

And in search currently the only way to stop Google’s market share is by regulation because the only country that’s managed it is china.
But you keep saying that someone will come alone to topple them.
