Me too. I'm going to have to go out to see it but it should be good. But as for the Turks, I'd love to be in Istanbul tonight... or even Stoke Newington. :D

Can't see them beating Germany, though. Which is a shame.

fair enough. but i didn't see them beating the czechs, or the croats either.... did you? ;)

Another great game today. That Russian number 10 is something special.

Would love to see a Russia vs Turkey final.

For those of you who have been watching the whole thing, can you remember any matches that were poor. I've been watching most of the matches but am struggling to find any that were truly disappointing

I thought Dutch would play aggressively and try to score as much as they could. Instead, it was Russians. They definitely deserved this win.

The first 118 minutes of yesterdays game was pretty boring.

This is not the beginning of a joke, but I've just returned home from a wedding party where us blokes were in the bar huddled around a small TV with a terrible 'snowy' black and white picture and no sound. I have no real idea of who played the better of the two teams or if Russia deserved to win, but we were dedicated to the very - fuzzy - end! :D

France vs. Romania?

I don't support any of the remaining teams.

Who should I cheer for?

Well, I 'm going for the Russians.
Not only because of their Dutch coach, but because of the way they play football!
I am hoping for a Germany - Russia final. :)

So, it''ll probably be Turkey vs. Italy orso...

They (the Russians) definitely deserved this win.

They certainly did!

It's a huge shame to lose the Dutch from the tournament, they always add so much atmosphere to these events.

Throughout the tournament the Dutch defense has always looked weak, you can only rely on van der Sar so much. The Russian forwards played gorgeous football last night. If I wasn't dressed in Orange supporting the Flatlanders I think I'd have enjoyed it more.

It will be interesting to see how the Russians cope with their next game.

Since my side (Portugal) were eliminated, I'm now and underdog fan. I'm hoping those Turks can beat Germany and that Russia can eliminate whoever wins out of Italy-Spain. If not then I suppose the non-underdog side I'm most supportive of would be Spain.

It seems that the Turks may only have 14 players available for the Germany game.

From their squad of 23, they have 4 who are suspended (Volkan Demirel, Tuncay Sanli, Arda Turan and Emre Asik), 2 who are definitely out through injury (Nihat Kahveci, Emre Gungor) and 3 more who face a race to be fit (Servet Cetin, Tumer Metin, and Emre Belozoglu).

Of the remaining 14 players, 2 are goalkeepers, and the Turkish manager has said he may use his reserve goalkeeper as a late outfield substitute.

Spain vs. Italy coming....

The Spanish have done the same thing as the Portuguese, Czechs, and the Dutch: Certain of qualifying for the QF's, and therefore rested the A-squad when they played the 3rd game of the group stage. And the Portuguese, Czechs, and the Dutch have all lost their QF's....
I wonder if the Spanish will find the same difficulties in finding their rhythm again, just like the other group-winners....

Added the fact that Italy have a far better track record at playing these tournaments than Spain, and Italy have won more a lot games against when these two have met....
EDIT: Spain haven't won a competitive game against Italy since the Twenties...??!!
...Spain should win!! :D
