Yeah it’s only worth getting if you’re going complete. Def one I had Chargie throw in with an order when I got so close to complete I just went for it. I don’t even bother trying to distinguish it from the Nectarine it sits next to by any method but peeping the etching. I would say Abyss Blue is richer in color but the meaningful distinction is that Deep Navy is purply and Abyss Blue is greeny. I call Abyss Blue “Green Horizon” though it’s not quite as rich as that Hall of Fame band. Please excuse the shine on Deep Navy. It was twenty bucks haha.
You make a good point, I never see black solo loop for sale. They must have all been pulped. I think default band wearers and solo loop fans don’t have a ton of crossover, as witnessed by the summary death of red solo loops, starlight solo loop, and white gen 1 solo loop.
Well that was handy, thank you! This picture is actually making me question WHICH MB I actually have. I bought mine used so I never saw the Box. But based on this photo, I kind of wonder if I have Midnight Blue 2. When was that released?
As for my original question, based on this photo I think I'd probably want to go with DN if I want to stay closest to Midnight Blue.
I have a Black Solo Loop Band, I got it from the UK last year. (I'm in the US.) I just discovered I have a tear in it.
It's still functional and the hole doesn't go all the way through. It's the first Band I've ever damaged! Looks like a replacement is gonna be difficult.Edit: I need to pay more attention. Apple is out of the Deep Navy Band. I'm going to give Abyss Blue a try.

Midnight Blue 1 dropped with the original watch, Fall 2015. When all the defaults got a fresh coat of paint in Fall 2018 for the Series 4 redesign, Midnight Blue got a little richer. Disclaimer: my MB1 is from Fall 2015 and got frequent flyer love and my MB2 is a Chargerstore custom with gold pin, but I mean it’s such a desaturated band, really small differences no matter what.
Midnight 1 would read 38/42mm, Midnight 2 would read 40/44mm on the underside. I would go for Deep Navy now to match, Abyss Blue will be around cheap for awhile, as a pack-in for the S7.
Thanks for that tip about looking on the back. Turns out I do have Gen 2.

Sadly I have seen this and other markings and QC issues in the past few years - probably due to pandemic and other reasons. I had multiple braided solo loop irregularities along with normal bands having spots of dirt or black etc. Bound to happen when they make millions? of these.Got another one with less obvious stain at the back (circle)

Sun was shining today. And decided to take this beaut out for an outing for the first time.
Scored a cheap new Grapefruit meant as a surprise gift for my auntie, who has been using only the black sport band that came budled with her series 6 last year. She was looking for a neutral, springly, pastel color, but I'm not sure if the Grapefruit meets these standards or maybe it's more fluo than it looke on promo pics. I'll keep it for myself eventually. Any good shot of the band on the wrist?
