 🤬 Some people! I tell ya... ruining everything for the rest of us!

I honestly don't know what direction to go in... do I be up front and say "look, I know how this sounds, but I'm being up front and honest". Or, do I play "dumb" and be like oh... what do you mean it's "fake"? Guess we will see in a few hours after my work meeting.
I would tell them the truth. If you were the one trying to rip them off, you wouldn’t be stupid enough to tell them. For $50, they won’t put up a fight.

No, he definitely should mention that. Otherwise it will just go back into the system to be sold again.
Yeah Ive had this happen with Best Buy Open Box (and amazon) too. They WILL challenge you if you call attention to it. I hate to condone this, but your best bet is to simply return it, Period.

i definitely edited this for whatever reason it didnt take it but i said that you shouldnt mention it till youve returned it and are walking away.

This has happened to me before and I thought I would be nice and tell them it was fake. After talking to a manager, I was out $44. If it ever happens again I would NOT mention it unless you want to pay for a fake band to save the next person.

Yeah, I would probably wear a real Nike loop when I went in and then show them the differences to show them it's a fake. Dunno if that would work or not though.....

The people who are looking at product returns and certifying them for retail are very likely not trained on how to spot a fake, just look at it, and if it looks sorta like what's on the box, then all good to go. And with fakes getting better....
