I need to find me a midnight blue solid. Only option I see is Chargerstore at like $35, ouch
Yeah they’re surprisingly hard to come by. It’s kind of weird because it was offered for 2 seasons just like the Navy/Tahoe Blue band. Yet, the Navy/Tahoe is way more common. The midnight must not have been a very popular color. Maybe it’s because it debuted at the same time as the stripe bands and they ended up getting all the attention.

Shipment from Chargerstore arrived today along with a solid Midnight blue I picked up from a different seller in the US. Comparison shots below. My goal is to only keep one solid and one stripe (though the stripe is going to be hard to choose).

Solids
Easy choice here for me. Midnight blue doesn’t have enough contrast with my SBSS watch. In dim lighting it looks almost identical to the solid black band I already have (and the buckle on the black band matches my watch). In bright light, the more reflective threads kind of take over and you can’t really tell what color the band is. Those reflective threads are one thing I don’t like about the solid woven nylons in general. Tahoe is the clear keeper for me here.

Stripes
Much tougher call here. The Tahoe tends to look more saturated in pictures than it actually is in person. You basically can’t tell that one of the stripes is black and the other is navy blue unless you are in bright light. The stripes as whole blend better on the Tahoe than on the Midnight. From farther away, the Tahoe reads as a dusty sky blue, whereas the Midnight has more defined blue and black stripes. The Tahoe is clearly lighter and definitely the more vibrant in bright light. Midnight’s more subdued colors might make it more versatile, though the pattern might be too similar to the black stripe band (and the color too similar to the solid Tahoe band). Not sure which one I am going to keep here. I like them both in different ways!

very nice! I prefer Tahoe blue solid and Tahoe blue stripe...unless you like the nearly black look of the MN blue solid. I suspect that pic of the MN blue stripe is making it look darker in pics. MN blue stripe When I had it for a brief time was much lighter in color than any pics I had seen before. I prefer the more grey presence seen in the Tahoe Stripe back.

Does anyone remember the last time they went to the actual MacRumors landing page and consumed news and info about non-watch Apple products? I don’t...

Finally got to see the refurb watch I sent my mom at the start of quarantine and what the cosmos blue looks like irl the other day...as recent forum posts have attested, it’s a stunner. And, yes, the clothing coordination and hand-cup are clearly hereditary.

...and just like that I also received my cosmos blue leather in the mail today and I really like it also! Being a fan of Teal colors, wanted to share this 😁

Yeah I think Apple really erred by calling the Midnight Blue stripe band “Midnight Blue”. That name makes you think the band is going to be much darker than it actually is. Only the lugs and the edges of the band are really Midnight Blue. The main blue stripes are closer in color to the solid Tahoe band than they are to a true midnight blue. I think Apple would have been better off branding the Midnight Blue stripe as a “Navy/Tahoe Blue stripe” and then calling the existing Tahoe stripe band something like “Sky Blue stripe”. But then, that might be too much time thinking about the names of AW bands that haven’t been sold in 3 years!

Could anybody Post a picture with a Silver SS Watch and Pine Green, Blue Horizont, Surf Blue, Rose red Please?
i Cant get the Idea OUT of my Head to Choose a SS One also when i like the alu weight.

Oh wow. That red background really makes it pop up!

Ha, yea, if I only had a teal colored mat, would have used that as background 😁

Yep i agree, 100%! That MN blue stripe band should have been called Tahoe, its much lighter than what a midnight blue band suggests. I like “Sky blue stripe“ for the other too, makes total sense. The connector color and the edges are certainly the only MN blue elements I see on the MN blue stripe band.

This was a comparison I was waiting to see for some time since I sold my MN blue stripe band and Was always curious about the Tahoe blue stripe. Curious to see which ones you decide to keep! 👍🏾

Honestly the weight is far from an issue. You’ll notice that the SS has a little more heft to it for like 24 hours. Very light watch either way.

Lookin good!

......Must resist urge to search for one...

Going for cheap on eBay right now!

the infamous $20 Sapphire Classic Buckle from the discounts thread arrived.View attachment 949182
Dang that looks sharp! I wish I didn’t dislike the square buckle of the later classic buckles so much or I would have been all over this one!

I think I’ve missed some posts since I was last here, deciding if I was on a break or left for good. Due to encouragement not least from @mikedop I decided to post again - so blame him.

I think my wife and I probably picked up around 30-35 bands since my last post, but most were just making their way down here after being ordered months ago. I did have a bit of a win at the weekend however, which is really why I’m posting right now.

I scored an almost pristine S2 Hermes 44mm with a Fauve Barenia, Feu Epsom, (another) Hermes Orange SB, black Classic Buckle, Midnight Blue Nylon Buckle, silver Milanese Loop and 4 sport loops (plus 4 third party bands, but let’s not mention those). Not as big a bargain as some of you US peeps can score, but NZ$850 (about US$565) for the lot. Most look literally unworn and it dovetails nicely with my previous bands with only the Hermes SB as a double. I’ll sell that, likely with the watch.

So my questions are; I think the Milanese is genuine as it looks the same my wife’s 38mm one. Any confirming factor to check with? How do peeps clean them as it looks a bit dull. We have an ultrasonic jewellery cleaner somewhere I could try.

Also as some of you know I’ve been zero on sport loops until now. What are the ones I have, other than Electric Pink?
