Well then, the Winter 2020 release of watch bands shouldn't be too far off from now, and if tradition follows, it'll be three new Sport Band colours - Winter 2019 released around mid-November (Beryl, Khaki and Pomegranate), and we are now in early November. Or if it's previous years, it'll be closer to December.

I've been eyeing a Solo Loop, but am holding off in case that one gets new colours soon! I mean, the Sport bands usually get refreshed at winter, who knows
Can't wait for the winter release! Crossing my fingers for some great dark bands. Also (irrelevant to this topic) I really wish my ebay band would arrive. I ordered it almost 2 weeks ago, and the seller messaged me last Tuesday to say that he got behind on orders and would expedite the band. He has only had like 3 items listed, so I'm not sure where he got overwhelmed. LOL

is it possible they'll release new solo/braided solo loop while they're so behind with the fall orders?

I mean, Solo Loop colours align with the Sport Band colours which has always gotten new winter releases so theres that in its favour. On the other hand, 3 new solo loops with 9 sizes each would create a whole new heap of SKU’s for Apple so soon, it wouldn’t surprise me if Spring is when it next gets refreshed, alongside every other type of Watch band. Braided Solo Loop i personally predict will be the same as Leather Bands, as its the same price point - one single refresh each year, in Spring. The sole exception last winter was there was a single new Product Red Sport LOOP.

Anyways wont know till Apple releases the new bands, this year they are trying something very different with the bands, anything could go, so fingers crossed wait and see

We made the app you love even lovelier. A newly updated version of "Bandbreite", the app for your ever-growing watch band collection, is now available on the App Store! | https://apple.co/3cEElZg

bandbreite-app-update-1-1-10.png

The update includes some new features, which didn’t make it into the initial release, and we also added some enhancements based on your feedback. Thank you to everyone who reached out to us!

What's new? Band details have been updated with pin/buckle colors and availability *A new medium-sized widget suggests randomly bands from your collection * Curated collections have been updated with a short introduction text *Approx. value in 'Stats and Insights' is now hidden by default.

Last, but not least, there’s now a tip jar available in our app. There will be no hidden features unlocked, but any support is greatly appreciated.

I just redownloaded the app on my new phone, am I doing something wrong? No bands are showing up. The 20 in my collection from my cloud backup aren’t in there either.

Oh, wow. That's a first. Never saw it before. There's a backup-database in the app, so even without an internet connection, it should work fine.

So, your iCloud backup is there, but everything else is missing?
Are you offline with your new phone?

Awesome, thanks a bunch.

Does anyone else here suffer from ‘Seller’s Remorse’?

I got a couple of extra 44mm SBs from Tox’s Group Buy that I didn’t technically ‘need’ as my wife had them in her part of the collection. I sold them for a small profit to help cover the US>UK shipping costs. Of course, I now regret that...

That may be why I started stalking the bands I had sold around eBay...

Let’s start with Papaya... I sold it to a guy who then clearly decided he didn’t like the colour, as he’d put it back on eBay for a few pounds less than he paid. I made a Best Offer of 2/3 what I’d sold it for and he accepted....

The Dragon Fruit I’d sold for £65 was relisted by the buyer a few days later, as she had allegedly decided to switch from AW to some Samsung monstrosity. Oddly, she relisted it for only £49.

It was then snapped up by a part-time reseller who immediately listed it for £109! Am I bitter? No... I found one on Facebook Marketplace for £15.

I managed to get hold of a sealed Surf Blue when they were still ‘new’ for £30. Again, as my wife had that colour, I traded it with one of the big U.K. resellers for a sealed Dark Olive. He sat on it for a couple of months before listing it with his usual markup juuussstt as eBay started to be flooded with them, as Apple were giving them away for free. Picked up a sealed replacement for £19.

It does work the other way too... paid £39 for one of my Celestial Teals. A quick bit of feedback stalking showed that the seller had paid £20 for it a few days before... I couldn’t believe I’d missed that one...

TLDR: Dude buys and sells some bands and spends far too much time back-tracing eBay feedback to make himself feel either smug or anguished...
What is this “selling bands“ you speak of? :D

I’ve never sold a band - except Hermes orange extras that I got when I bought a watch for the leather band, and then I sold the watch also, keeping the leather. I do have a couple of Mellow Yellows in 44mm, a Hyper Grape in 40mm, a 44mm Hibiscus and maybe one other I forget, all unopened, to sell at some point, but no rush.

Tip jar is great! Just did it now. I feel silly though, as I can’t find the “little surprise”??? Guess I’ll have to keep looking..

If Apple eventually releases more solo loops and cancel the sport bands like what they did to the woven nylons I will be royally pissed. I don't want to collect the solo loops. Personally won't pay more than 5 dollars for any of them.

I had issues with syncing my band collection via icloud among all my iPhones with version 1, hopefully that is fixed!!

It’ll all depend on sales. Once they see how the solo loops do after the “new stuff, must buy” hype dies down, they’ll make a decision.

They also did swapped a bunch of the better looking case-band pairings on the Apple site to solo loops instead of sport bands, and many people will not know any better, artificially inflating the "sales" of the loops.

Marketing. They need to let people know the new stuff exists. Selling a band paired with their new watch is easier than selling a band alone. IIRC, a lot of third party resellers are still using sport bands and loops to avoid sizing nightmares.

It just shows 20 bands on that screen, but when I click in to my collection there is nothing there. I can’t search for any bands either.

So, interesting discovery today in my quest to get a classic buckle band with space black hardware: the smaller oval buckle Apple used in the 1st-3rd gen versions of the band is not glued in as originally thought. Rather, it is attached with a traditional spring bar that is hidden inside the buckle. So, it is fairly easy to remove the buckle with a regular spring bar tool and a little patience! I was able to swap it out for a black buckle I picked up from Arrow and Board in about 10 minutes.

Still waiting for my black lugs to come in for the full swap out. Also going to try to remove a black buckle from one of my Woven Nylons in the same way and do a straight OEM to OEM swap of hardware. But, really stoked to be able to wear Classic Buckles again! None of the third party leather bands I have tried feel quite like they belong with the watch the way Apple’s bands do. I do wish I had been able to find a 3rd gen Saddle Brown with the stitching. But, the 2nd gen band still looks nice!

While I admit I have a little bit of cognitive dissonance going back to sport bands these days after a solo loop, wondering how I’m okay paying the same price for a thinner band without any steel, I’m willing to bet my collection the sport bands are heading to End of Life. I mean the lightness is a feature not a bug, at the end of the day.

The silicone bands just execute the “sport” aspect better on every metric and I’m getting the feeling they won’t have the shine issues to boot (black fading might happen).
