We made the app you love even lovelier. A newly updated version of "Bandbreite", the app for your ever-growing watch band collection, is now available on the App Store! | https://apple.co/3cEElZg

View attachment 977670

The update includes some new features, which didn’t make it into the initial release, and we also added some enhancements based on your feedback. Thank you to everyone who reached out to us!

What's new? Band details have been updated with pin/buckle colors and availability *A new medium-sized widget suggests randomly bands from your collection * Curated collections have been updated with a short introduction text *Approx. value in 'Stats and Insights' is now hidden by default.

Last, but not least, there’s now a tip jar available in our app. There will be no hidden features unlocked, but any support is greatly appreciated.
Yesss ! we love updates šŸ˜ thank you so much for this great app.

Tip jar is great! Just did it now. I feel silly though, as I can’t find the ā€œlittle surpriseā€??? Guess I’ll have to keep looking..
Did it too just now. I had the distinct impression the screen refreshed afterwards, and.... it's late and my eyes are tired, so off to bed for now!

I had issues with syncing my band collection via icloud among all my iPhones with version 1, hopefully that is fixed!!
Did you reported it? Because I didn't heard of any problems with iCloud after the release. Please note, that for now it's a backup method and not a push service (syncs immediately) yet.

Pink Blast, SBSSLB, Black "LeLoo" (gen 1).

So, interesting discovery today in my quest to get a classic buckle band with space black hardware: the smaller oval buckle Apple used in the 1st-3rd gen versions of the band is not glued in as originally thought. Rather, it is attached with a traditional spring bar that is hidden inside the buckle. So, it is fairly easy to remove the buckle with a regular spring bar tool and a little patience! I was able to swap it out for a black buckle I picked up from Arrow and Board in about 10 minutes.

Excellent.

That explains it. I always thought it was for syncing across devices. The only way I could get it to work was to delete the app on one device and reinstall it a bit after for it to get the updated list from iCloud. And no I didn’t report it in the app. Just mentioned it once or twice here.

Quick question, how much should one look at paying for a light gray sport band that is bundled with the titanium? There’s one available in the local forum but the seller is asking quite a bit for it, I am thinking of negotiating

While I admit I have a little bit of cognitive dissonance going back to sport bands these days after a solo loop, wondering how I’m okay paying the same price for a thinner band without any steel, I’m willing to bet my collection the sport bands are heading to End of Life. I mean the lightness is a feature not a bug, at the end of the day.

The silicone bands just execute the ā€œsportā€ aspect better on every metric and I’m getting the feeling they won’t have the shine issues to boot (black fading might happen).

While I can’t say I disagree with the prediction, I can however say that it’s a sad likelihood. For an allegedly eco friendly company, solo size options really don’t sound great for the world. Also takes some of the fun out of it, too.. eg. so much for easily swapping bands with friends/family.

Most significantly though, I’ve asked around and found that I am not alone in the habit of changing fitment throughout the day (sport loop & sport band).. and that’s obviously not an option in this imagined future.

It’d be an interesting pole for our little group here, really — sport band vs solo loop. (Note: For the record, yes I have tried a solo loop.)

Will you be distributing your collection to all of us if Apple cancelled the solo loops?

Wearing the solo loop for me is like wearing a bangle, or even worse, a cuff (not of the HermĆØs variety). It makes me feel slightly claustrophobic. I don’t have the issue with the braided one. Just the silicon. Also, I hit the watch against the Apple store table several times when I was putting them on with the solo loops, so I can’t imagine doing that to my own watches. No way. If Apple kills the sport bands then I am done collecting any band.

Yeah I totally get it. I will say I am definitely biased by being a sporty dude and specifically the silicone design being so good for yoga, in which one is grabbing at themselves a lot and that pin feels not-so-good, but more than anything as someone whose main kits are:

1) gold 2) black 3) white...the lack of mismatched pin is a major win for me. Also I feel like some of these colors look better in the silicone. My cyprus comes later tonight on the USPS late truck and I feel like it’s superior to the look of the fluoroelastimer version?

I can’t decide which is my favorite pure blue sport loop. Tahoe is the superior color to my taste, but Cape Cod has the better s3-era fleck checks. The former is more soothing, comfortable, perhaps a bit musty looking, literally long in the tooth, just Biden its time, whereas Cape Cod has a fullness to the design that is so vibrant and progressive and survives to the Nike Squad to this day and into the future with all of its New Deals, pretty much.

What does everyone think? (Cape Cod is the darker one)

Guys, I think there’s a third generation for pink sand.

Picked up a lot of 42/44mm bands on eBay today. It included a 44mm Pink Sand. I just assumed it was a second generation like the one I have already, but it’s actually ever so slightly different!

Finding lighting that captures this difference on camera is difficult, but here are three different shots..

Outdoor natural light:

Indoor Natural Light:

And the best to capture the difference, indoor artificial light on a white background:

(The printing is also more evident due to the lighter color)

So... third generation Pink Sand? Or just a defect in the fluoro?

(Both bands are free of any discoloration. The color difference is present throughout the entire band on all 3 pieces, and both bands are new.)

My guess would be that they’d need to stick with Sport Band format for the Nike bands. Not sure you could put the breathing holes in a Solo Loop and maintain its structural integrity...
I also have this wild new baseless hunch that maybe they ditch the Nike line completely (or just the sport bands) as something that was just meant to help introduce a new product line but also was perhaps a part of their acquisition of the Nike Fuel Band team and lab and now maybe does not survive the hypothetical transition away from clasps and buttons on non-Hermes bands.

How much does Nike board member Tim wanna keep the vibe going versus Supply Chain Tim wanna just sell solo loops. I totally agree the silicone is way too thin to perforate.

I think you’re onto something...I noticed this too when making my buddy picture. I’m sure you’ve already contacted Chargie.

No love for OG midnight blue? Solid, dependable blue, but still able to get along with smattering of red and a variety of other colours too — it’s kind of a concesus-builder, seeking to reach across colour lines to bring the best together as one cohesive unit.

Or maybe Alaska Blue? I hear you can see Russia when you’re wearing it, and it sends you a cheque every year just for wearing it.

Or second-generation midnight blue?

Just kidding.

Nobody loves second-generation midnight blue.

Okay yeah your pic definitely helps to confirm its not just a bad batch.

I honestly have no idea. I bought both of them off eBay, and both are silver pins.

I guess someone better let @toxtrepla know there's one more out there?

The thing is, those are 38mm, 38mm, 40mm. So there might be four Pink Sands (or at least parity between a 3842mm and a 4044mm)!

Or just really ā€œcreativeā€ QC at the plant
