Looked super green. Then I noticed Night Shift was on.
Yeah for some reason it turned out really green. It's still pretty green in real life in that lighting though. Give it just a bit more green out the factory, then give it the soft finish of the 44s, and there you have it: the perfect sport band.

I can’t decide which is my favorite pure blue sport loop. Tahoe is the superior color to my taste, but Cape Cod has the better s3-era fleck checks. The former is more soothing, comfortable, perhaps a bit musty looking, literally long in the tooth, just Biden its time, whereas Cape Cod has a fullness to the design that is so vibrant and progressive and survives to the Nike Squad to this day and into the future with all of its New Deals, pretty much.

What does everyone think? (Cape Cod is the darker one)

I don't think its pictured, but hands down, the Cornflower Sport Loop would be my favourite pure blue Sport Loop, with the Surf Blue a close second. (I know Surf Blue isn't pure blue as its a two tone sport loop, but in terms of all blue sport loops)

I've also got the Cape Cod Sport Loop too, compared to Cornflower, I find its quite a murky blue. I think its okay. Nothing special, but also definitely not ugly

Apple: “500 threads woven together in a unique, colorful pattern.”

The thing is, those are 38mm, 38mm, 40mm. So there might be four Pink Sands (or at least parity between a 3842mm and a 4044mm)!

Or just really “creative” QC at the plant
Please, not four Pink Sand...

My wife has the generally accepted 1 and 2.

I somehow managed to buy it new in 44mm from Amazon UK and get it shipped via my mother to NZ when I was trying to buy Grapefruit, so I have it in a box, owing me more than I could have got it for from Apple in NZ, and I don't even want it. It's not cost effective to return it, it's a current band so would only sell for below (local) RRP, and to cap it all I opened it before I realised it wasn't Grapefruit. In other words it leaves a sour taste in my mouth to even look at it.

If it turned out to be the other 40/44 Pink Sand from my wife's that would be a small silver lining, but then if there is a second 38/42 as well to get...

That said though, doesn't apple update the model number when they change the colour. Does anyone know if there has been three or four model numbers for PS over the years, or only two (per size / pin colour of course)?

Cape Cod all day. Its LeLoo buddy is equally great.

Starting to think it's just bad QA as @athousandbands pointed out. The product image hasn't changed since Fall 2018.

I want more straps but I have no money for them. Alas.

A question - when the winter straps come out, is there a likelihood of the other seasonal straps being pulled from store? The plum one, or the purple pulse, for example.

Thats a bit of an interesting one to answer.

It's usually only once a new Watch launches in September does Apple pull the previous years seasonal bands from the store. However, the bands could also be marked as "Sold Out" on the Apple Store well before that, bringing an effective permanent end to the buyer being able to buy one outright from Apples online store.

Series 5 is the exception, they actually managed to stock bands the entire year around, both online and in store (there was someone who posted here pages back about being able to buy the year-old Meyer Lemon Leather Loop in store), but theres no guarantee Apple will do the same this year, especially not with all the SKU's they have with the new bands and multiple sizes

Hmm, okay. Thanks for the info! I was hoping that if they did do that, I could scoot up to the apple store in person asap and hopefully get one.

Yeah I’m just seeing things.

So maybe they changed the color without changing the picture? Or they’re just not consistent in batch color.
I suppose that along with Black (which is probably easier to produce consistently), Pink Sand will have had far more 'batches' over a long length of time than any other band. Perhaps some variance should be expected.

I suspect we have to use model numbers as differentiators, as that indicates which bands Apple believes are 'different', beyond any manufacturing inconsistencies within a 'margin-of-error' that the public are not party to.

yeah from what i gather, there are only 2 real color variants of pink sand with some either being a QC problem or even color changing from use

How does this strap not yank all the hair off your arm?

Years of practice.

Although wearing a Milanese for a day makes me wonder how I did it for better than a year, when the Silver Milanese that came with my Series 0 was my only band. I like the way Milanese look, but I dislike constantly having to adjust it to keep it as tight as I like my watchbands. And the pinchy factor with hair from time to time.

I have the impression that some watch face colors disappeared from the watch app lately. I always thought that Apple just extends the list when new band colors are released but now it seems to me that they also remove colors from time to time. It's a pity that I'm not able to select older colors like Pollen anymore.

Does anybody know more about this?

Pollen is still an option for some watch faces.

No, why?

I did order a band with small defect, talking really small nick out of the lug and he gave me partial refund. I was happy with that
I wanted to return something but I couldn’t find an English version of the return address and I wasn’t sure of the google translation. Anyway I contacted him and we worked it out. He’s great to deal with.

I know when Clementine came out, they got rid of the Nectarine watch face color. I'm assuming the watch face colors were so close that they were indistinguishable. I haven't noticed any others.
