Sorry, revisiting this as my original quick reply during a break in TV watching was a bit short.
Definitely a frosty blue. If you and my wife are in competition that’s a shame - I’d far rather there were enough protos to go around, but I guess that shows how rare they are.
As an aside I was thinking a few days back that this thread “Every watch band Apple released. Ever” is exactly the wrong one to discuss unreleased bands. I’d be very reluctant to have a thread with the word unreleased or prototype in the title in case it draws too much attention, but perhaps we should move this to the rare bands thread - or leave it here if peeps who aren’t into chasing unicorns are good with that?
I’ll do it in a few hours if nobody else gets there first. I have somewhere to be and don’t know if I’ll have time until I’m back.
I’m over the exposure aspect, Chargie is posting them on eBay now and before that stopped policing, seemingly too many of us have them now. Also he never made the original poster that made me aware of them take down their photos.
But yes I specifically keep mine off this thread entirely nowadays for the exact pedantic reason stated. Get your best group shots and maybe one on the wrist if you have a spare 38mm watch lying around and make it rain on the Rare thread and maybe Show Off
Yeah, agree, but I think if a thread on MR blatantly mentioning them in the title it might just up the profile to a point where it could be picked up as a news article, and then become impossible for a blind eye to be turned, if that’s what is happening now. I think that’s more likely than Apple not knowing they are getting into the wild.

I forget just how good it looks new, especially on a shiny SBSS. Love the Spicy Orange case too.
They look much more different IRL than that picture shows. Deep Navy is much richer and more saturated. That said I haven’t worn Midnight since I got Deep Navy so they are basically interchangeable.
Good choice, it’s much nicer than the almost black of Midnight blue.
As labelled - good spot as they are next to each other in my wife's storage drawer, so she considers them similar. The photo is a ProRAW I edited to get the colours looking accurate on my Mac compared with how my eye sees the bands
Also I took one of Deep Navy versus both generations of Midnight Blue because I think there is a difference.
I just looked down at the 3 blues on my dining table. Straight from the 12 Pro Max, Midnight 2 top, Deep Navy middle and Midnight 1 bottom. Difference much clearer in this lighting
