It is top secret. If I told you, I would have to kill you... sorry.
I was brave and got a white one.

The treble out of those must be amazing - it's shattered that iPhone screen!

I have never heard a HomePod - we don't get offered them here. I have seen the original in Apple Stores in Manchester and Vancouver, but not heard it play. I don't want to want one.
They sound pretty good. I almost never have it over half volume though. Hadn't taken it to full volume at all. If I did it'd do more than crack that phone.

I'm more impressed on how well siri works. you can practically mumble and she'll still hear you.

Maybe I should get a Mini to try. We’ve used Echo Dots since before they were officially available here, but Alexa seems to be getting dumber. I barely use Siri because he/she has been pretty dumb also, but maybe Siri improvements and the genuine worsening of Alexa has closed the gap a bit.

For music I have more than a few dollars in a Sonos setup however, and frankly HomePods aren’t even in the same game as the Arc sound bar with a sub and rear surrounds.

I (think I) need some help. When I originally just followed this thread buying some of the bands I had wanted here and there felt fun. But now as I edge past 55 bands from my original 12, I am looking at every band on sale and seriously even considering buying bands colors that I don't like just because they are available at good prices.

I need to stop spending money.

Haha yeah it takes some real self-discipline to hang out in this thread if you’re not trying to collect every band. I have had to make a few rules for myself.
  1. Only buy bands I actually plan to wear.
  2. Sell bands that have not been worn in over 2 months (excluding seasonal factors like only wearing sport bands in winter)
  3. No keeping 2 bands with almost the same color (for example, I have both a Ocean Blue and an Alaskan Blue sport on the way but will only keep one)
  4. No buying bands below market just to resell (not worth my time and it just encourages my buying habit)
That last rule has been the hardest not to break as it has led me to pass on some really good deals. But, overall, these rules have kept my habit mostly under control. My collection quickly ballooned from 4 bands to 12 when I found this thread. Since then, it has fluctuated between 10 and 15, which seems like a decently stable number.

I am absolutely not knocking anyone who is collecting bands. I just know that it would become an addiction for me and I’d rather not go down that road. This thread is addicting enough on its own! 😂

Except Nike. Buy everything Nike.

I like my colorful Froot Loop bands.

I think I need to adopt your rules.

Same rules as me, except for number 2.

And I did once buy two link brackets and then sold one to pay for the other. Random set of circumstances but basically resulted in a free link.

But otherwise, good rules and they help keep the obsession from taking over fully 😅

None of the above rules apply to me. I set a spending limit every pay period and I buy based on the spending limit. If the band comes in and it is not what I ordered I either return it or resell it. I stick to my spending limit to keep from over spending and it helps.

I agree. It is just easier to set the spending limit than it is to set the rules.
I guess it depends on your a ‘gotta get em all’ collector or a soft collector that buys the ones they like. I’m thankfully the latter as it means I only buy colours I like and not the near identical cousins (mostly).

Don’t hold me to that though 😅

I want everything except the leather and metal bands... you can hold me to that though😉

I know this is a longshot, but if anyone finds a 38mm/40mm Ultraviolet or Plum Sport Band for a good price, could they please PM me? I’m not a collector of every band - just trying to get a couple of my personal favorites that unfortunately seem to be some of the rarest.

Chargerstore has UV in 38mm brand new for $99.
