Me too today! As indirectly suggested by @choreographics via bandbreite.

Real pre-2018 vibes with this week's arrivals. Five solid yoinks and one good deal from a fellow forum member. Couple of nice surprises - Mist Blue was still sealed and Violet Dust/Plum Fog is clearly unworn and has the plastic still in place on the pin piece - not what I was expecting.

One pang of guilt is that I only snaffled the 38mm Rose Red for the Box...

No I kind of forgot to say “except Hermes Black” in my neutrals caption. Such an expensive band for a black even darker than the too-dark Black Gen 1. I just remember Toxtrepla getting one and being disappointed. And I have the black pin on my orange band so...
Too-dark black? Is there such a thing? Vanta black? Blacker than Hotblack Desiato’s spaceship? Don’t you want a band that makes part of your forearm disappear into the shadows?

And the main star of the new spring line up is simply called 'the void'.

So after getting ceramic and getting new bands that match better I’m just about to put ginger, vitamin c, beryl and cactus on eBay uk and I’ve just tried the cactus back on and I may have to keep it. Still unsure but this combo is nice. Really hard to get my amount of bands down 😁
I'm surprised by most of those being the ones you have decided don't work, especially Beryl. I haven't gone through my bands trying them on my ceramic the way you did, but I think it works really well with the very pale pastels - bringing out the colour that can get lost with other cases, and with strong colours, giving them something to "bounce off".

The ones I see as not working are the metals. By that I mean Milanese and Link Bracelet, especially in silver. I'm OK with silver metal lugs after @Fhotofaerie posted her pic, though I have yet to try it. Also I have yet to try it, but I don't see dark neutrals as likely to work - Gray, Black, Cocoa, Dark Olive etc.
Do you guys have any picture of the Pacific Green SB? What do you think?
I'm thinking about one but I don't think I've ever seen it posted in here.
I'm pretty sure @athousandbands posted some Pacific Green comparisons a week or so back. Also worth checking the band buddies thread as that tends to be more photos and less chat, and he (plus some others) have been documenting similar bands for a while now.

I have surprised myself that I didn't ever do an "all the greens" shot when I completed them, but Mr Thousand's "all but one" series is done far better than I do mine, so I'm reluctant to do that now, expecting his is coming.

While I realise the comment is in a big part facetious, I think OG Black is too dark.

I got it as my first separate band with my S0, which officially came with the OG Black LeLoo. I actually thought both were too black and hardly wore either. It's only since I got my SBSS last year that I rediscovered the LeLoo (both OG Black and the style itself), but I still haven't worn OG Black. I much prefer the Black 2 I ordered the SBSS with as it was a gap I needed to fill in the collection, and that combo was available more quickly than a Studio choice.

I assumed Hermes would be just the same, but if it is blacker, then definitely too much. Shame for the SBSS Hermes peeps as the orange with black pin gets more wrist time on my SBSS than the orange with silver pin does on my SS since I got it.

Couldn’t agree more with all these points. The black Needs to be lighter than the watch it’s being paired with, so we will need a Vanta watch case first (hopefully it’s DLC). The only dark neutral, if you can even call it that, that works with Space White is Olive Flak.

Olive Flak could be my single most favourite band ever, but that's with SBSS. I'll give it a go later perhaps, but I'm not seeing that as a good combo in my mind's eye.

My expectation is that very few Nike SBs will work - Pride (natch), probably the (as yet never worn) Spruce Aura / Vapor Green, unexpectedly Royal Pulse as demonstrated by @Fhotofaerie. Other than those the obvious candidates that are in my wife's side of the collection; Barely Rose and Light Violet might be it. That said I'd not have picked Royal Pulse, but the face colour pulled in the band and distracted enough from the black accent that it worked, so maybe there are more.

My profile pic works, but I'll never wear it - that's there only because it can be there.

Ooooooh... Vanta Black would need to be a matt finish case. That’d be interesting - wholly impractical, but interesting. Maybe with that nano-textured glass from the Pro Display XDR. S7 Edition anyone?

Royal Pulse has frost, which is why it works. I think even very colorful bands beyond a certain brightness quotient don’t quite work on Space White. People say “oh every band looks good on white ceramic.” I don’t think that’s quite true. I think it’s more that the bands that do work on it work better than pretty much any other case. I think bands as dark and rich as Rose Red or maybe even Reds 2/3 are a little too heavy for Space White.

One wonders what the materials science ambitions for the watch cases themselves are now that they don’t need to humor Jony “seriously I’m so sick of steel and aloominyum” Ive. I feel like Tim has capped the price for the watch and is more likely to rock new Alum colors every few years if the red and blue sales are strong.
