Just bought the chlorine blue Nike band. Reminds me of a swatch watch back in the 80s LOL
Pretty bitter that the new Ironstone/Black Nike Sport band has a silver pin, and not black/gray...
That’s it, that’s the post.
Probably the only thread here that will really feel my pain lol.
Mallard Green is also available as an iPad Smart Cover / Folio, where we can see the colour a bit clearer
It’s close but not identical. I feel the renders online will probably be identical between them as Apple is most likely using the same Hex.Keep in mind that the „same“ colour for a watch strap and e.g. a phone case never really look the same, probably because of the different materials used.
That was a fun game of guess the watches! No Titanium love?Choices, choices...

I must befriend an Apple employee…PSA: It would appear that the Apple employee EPP store is no longer limiting the 25% discount to just one color per SKU as they seemed to start enforcing with the fall20 launch.
Perhaps my friend just wasn’t pushing the buttons right in fall and winter but I wanna say other people had the same experience.
SBTi is front left (lighting is poor I know) and Natty Ti is still on my bf’s desk, unused in the age of graphite. That was a fun game of guess the watches! No Titanium love?
Oh wow I thought that was a Sport.SBTi is front left (lighting is poor I know) and Natty Ti is still on my bf’s desk, unused in the age of graphite.
Looks like everything is up at Best Buy. I wonder when the sale is (Memorial Day too soon?) and if it will be $40 or $30. Open box works too.Ordered the Electric Orange braided loop size 4, looks pink enough for me
waiting for Best Buy to get the Cantaloupe
Let’s see how it goes! Cant wait for unboxing videos to soon start showing up.It’s close but not identical. I feel the renders online will probably be identical between them as Apple is most likely using the same Hex.
Looks amazing👌Choices, choices...

A classic Hermes color purports to be the color on that duck’s nape. My first Hermes band actually. That this magical compadre of mine sampled me. Called colvert. Guess what that means hahaLet’s see how it goes! Cant wait for unboxing videos to soon start showing up.
Mallard refers to a species of Duck, pictured below, getting very Peacock vibes from that - if it looks anything like that in real life, I’m soldOnly available as a Sport Band though, the other shade of Green, Pistachio meanwhile is exclusive to the Solo Loop line

I agree on the surprising price of the Hermes woven nylon bands. They look interesting, but it’s hard to justify that price. I don’t own any Hermès bands; is there something about the quality that justifies that high price, or is it simply due to the luxury brand name? Now that I’ve had a bit to digest, here are my thoughts on the Spring release.
Overall: Pretty disappointed. Way too may wacky color combinations for my taste. Will wait to see how Mallard and Hasta look in real life. But I’m thinking this might be the first season where I’m not tempted to buy even one band. That’s probably best for my wallet though!
- Sport Band and Solo Loop: Odd that Apple has decided to diverge the color choices so significantly. Pistachio, Cantaloupe, and Capri strike me as the only “classic spring” colors this year. Tamales looks like Linen turned into a solo loop. I am most intrigued by Mallard. It has the potential to be a re-do of Pacific Green (which turned out to be more blue when it wasn’t busy being black). Will wait to see real-world pictures though.
- Braided Solo Loop: Pistachio and Electric Orange seem like fine spring colors. Nothing grabbing me here though.
- Sport Loops: Umm...I’m sorry but what happened here? I hope Sunflower looks less mustard-y in real life because that combo with the brownish gray edge is...not great. Also, too many colors this season are just Fall colors with different rail colors that don’t match as well. Olive (replaces Inverness) and Red G4 (replaces G3) are the worst offenders here. Apple has completely lost me with their Sport Loop choices over the past year. And no Nike loops remains the biggest (and most worrying) surprise today.
- Nike Sport Bands: Honestly kind of surprised to see Chlorine given how muted Nike bands have gotten over the past few years. Sure to please anyone who missed out on Blue Orbit though! Hasta and Ironstone are right at home with most of the other Nike sport bands made since 2019. Maybe they’ll turn out to be more interesting in real life.
- Leather: No new Modern Buckles or Leather loops supports the ongoing speculation that those lines are on their way out and will likely be discontinued in the fall. Only one new Leather Link is also interesting. Perhaps that line is not selling very well?
- Hermes Woven Nylon: Not sure what is the bigger surprise here: that these bands were silently launched or that they cost almost as much as the Hermes leather. The colors and designs are interesting but I think Hermes may have priced these a bit too high in relation to the leather bands. I will also be interested to see if these wear any better than the Apple woven nylon bands from a few years ago. Those started to fray pretty quickly.
Only speaking for the leather bands since I don’t have any direct experience with these woven nylon bands. The question as to whether any luxury good is “worth it” is always hard to answer because it is so subjective and really depends on what you personally value in a product. For the Hermes leather bands, I can tell you that the leather is very high quality, soft and supple (really no break in period), and the bands are made by hand (there are a few videos on YouTube showing how). For me, that’s worth it because Apple Watch is my only watch, so I don’t mind spending extra for a nice band. I really enjoy that every band is slightly different because they are hand made. The leather is beautiful too and elevates the look of the watch.I agree on the surprising price of the Hermes woven nylon bands. They look interesting, but it’s hard to justify that price. I think of it in three legs of a stool: the cachet of the brand name and whatever proprietary colors or patterns it has, the time of the laborer crafting it, the raw material quality. And wherever the Hermes dye job and the ability of the leather to catch the dye fits, because it’s beyond even Apple’s bands.Only speaking for the leather bands since I don’t have any direct experience with these woven nylon bands. But, that doesn’t necessarily mean it will be worth it to you. The Hermes version of the watch does all the same things as the base level aluminum model. You can get the look of an Hermes band for 1/10th the price on eBay (though the leather will not be the same quality). So, it comes down to what you value. For many, the functionality of the Apple Watch is all that’s important and spending anything over the base aluminum model is a waste. Even now, tons of people by the S3, even though that watch was first released back in 2017. For me, my Apple Watch is quickly becoming my most indispensable device and I enjoy the look and history behind the Hermes bands. So, they’re worth the extra price to me. I know I’m well in the minority on that though...
Did you get the new jumping single tour? I was skeptic so at first but I can appreciate the amount of handcraft that might be needed.I think of it in three legs of a stool: the cachet of the brand name and whatever proprietary colors or patterns it has, the time of the laborer crafting it, the raw material quality. I wonder how much human handiwork goes into the Jumping and if the pattern, once we see it from real life angles and in real life lighting, pops like the scarf patterns on the leather bands. Because those patterns pop, and especially the Della Cavalleria from series 5, look quite fine and detailed in person.
Do you want the x/1,000 actual print from the artist who made a etchings from her own carved plate original or do you want the postcard version from the museum gift shop? Haha excuse the imprecise vocab here.
No way. I’ll pay low 2s at most. As I was saying in the other thread, it’s made to be a daily driver, I feel like that’s where you get the value. So I couldn’t give it the love it deserves. Whereas the leather bands are suited to their 3-4 a week rotation.Did you get the new jumping single tour? I was skeptic so at first but I can appreciate the amount of handcraft that might be needed.
Does anyone know if the jumping single tour pattern is hand sewn thread by thread or is it like a print that’s stamped onto the nylon?
