That band with a matching gold pin would be
Pairs up so well with the gold!
After the mindfork that is Pacific Green, I was slightly taken aback by how green this band is. Indoors right now it’s even less blue than when I was snapping it earlier. It might not be good green but it’s a great green. Finding better than Dark Teal even though I usually go for “wet” over “dry.” Mallard is definitely like its Series 6 siblings, smooth to the touch.

Amazon Prime day brought me the Mallard Green, open box from the Warehouse, like new, for 50% the retail price.
Couldn't resist. It's a very puzzling color, it looks green or blue or even black under different lights. It's really hard to capture in picture! But irl is beautiful, I think I'm gonna keep it!

It really completes the “spring 2020 but more intense” theme of the spring 2021 bands excluding pistachio. Surf/Capri for the glow, Grapefruit/Cantaloupe for the pink/orange straddle, and Cactus/Mallard let’s call the brain breakers.

Have you made a comparison shot yet? I was under the impression that Mallard is basically identical to Dark Teal.

I know the more bands one has, the less willing they are to call bands identical, but the comp here is nowhere near, say, Tomales vs Linen. Mallard in most light gives you a satisfying green and makes Dark Teal look relatively more blue. But then when you get to how they respond to light, it’s night and day. Dark Teal bounces the light like a classic watery band, where Mallard absorbs it and gives it a satisfying crispness, or like Clarke said, a black look. Here are some unedited shots with the kinda warm LED lamp I have access to rn.

Mallard left, Dark Teal right. Mallard ends up look more dull here and maybe it technically is, but it’s just a more satisfying band, maybe because there’s just so many blue bands. If Mallard was identical to Dark Teal, it would be Nike Midnight Turquoise and that would be kind of repetitive?

Great description, thanks! Even in these pictures Mallard is cleary green-er, which makes it much more interesting to me.

I’m glad that comes across. My eyes need a reset and maybe tomorrow’s daylight to see the green again. Scrolling all the Mallard pics on this page, I’m not seeing it. An indoor daylight photo is next, I guess.

It’s early, but strike another vote for Mallard. I am a green fan, and I hated Pacific green ( and returned it). It just wasn’t green for me, like, at all. I liked Mallard out of the box, and place it on gold, and as JBlass421 suggested, it is striking. Like Plum striking. Mallard is a classic for me in the true sense of the word, deep, rich, royal, and bursting with color. Love it? Maybe on my Hall of Fame, even. Surely for green.

Ever since the threat of an Amethyst sport band appeared, UV’s have been popping up nice and steadily on eBay. Great time for those that need it 😎

I just scored a 44mm ultra violet sport band for $140. It is new and sealed in original box! I will post pics once I receive it!
I always check sold bands on Mercari because I hate myself, and I saw that and knew it was you lol. Mazel tov. Not even an overpay for 42mm, that’s close to what Chargie wants. Didn’t realize my 38mm went for so much less.

Thank you for not buying it!!!!
