Me too. I want the strawberry shade athousandbands mocked up awhile back in the Concept Art thread.

I was watching a soccer game yesterday and Mexico had on some adidas jerseys with Rose Mexico just like the Hermes bands from spring…maybe it’s trending!

But I also worry that in the way that so much of the fall 2020 band collection was dedicated to/limited by the blue and red aluminum and also rebooting old colors as silicone solo loops, fall 2021 might be a bunch of bands with muted 24” iMac colors.

I really see the edition watches and series 3 SKUs being replaced with the new Apple rainbow approach in aluminum, especially with Gurman’s new chatter about “outdated in one year/useless in under five years” Titanium (🙄).

But perhaps the rainbow might change. Hard to say if the iMac colors make sense for watches into spring and summer 2022.

My first instinct is ooooh, rainbow colors, how fun! But in the end I think I might get tired of a candy colored watch, like I got tired of my “rose gold“ (pink) aluminum AW1 and lately my “gold” (rose gold) aluminum AW4. I haven’t kept up with all the comments about the new Macs but the ones I did read were kinda dismissive of the pastel colors, so I wonder if there would be a big demand for pastel watches.

It looks like I ended up being late ordering 40mm Obsidian Mist Nike Sport Loop Placed my order on 7/4 on a local webstore (electronic stuff seller) and after that on a weekly basis, I've checked the status: every time the availability has changed to "two days from now". Well, it's been a month and now the status is "availability unknown". Funny thou, the store still has my order and they haven't informed me via email that it looks like I'm not gonna get my Obsidian sport loop So, just now I send email to them asking about my order and asking that if I can't get the Obsidian, could I possibly then have some other band (priced the same and actually available for delivery) because why not? Let's switch bands before I cancel my order and you lose your precious 49€ 🙃

Thanks for your hints about the fake band. It's a shame that these people focus more on optically copying the originals instead of simply improving their own quality 🤔🤷🏼‍♂️ At least it wasn't expensive and worth a try 😅

It would really be a nice addon if the Bandbreite app had photos of the back as well with the colors of the size prints. This would really help to identify the different bands more precisely and also to identify fake tapes more easily.

Thanks for the tip but unfortunately I'm not located in the U.S 😶 The seller did replied to me, they say that they have ordered the band from the importer and are waiting to get it themselves, on the 6th. They asked me if I still wanna wait or do I now wanna change the band? I replied that if indeed they are gonna get the Obsidian, I'm willing to wait to finally get it 🙄 That's one special Sport Loop indeed 🤪

Spring was such a disappointment, Nike sport loops are the best.

Speaking of spring, today's arrival, Abyss. A surprise of a band. I wanted a new daily driver which I didn't like enough to feel remorse for getting it dirty at work but now that I have it I like it too much. 😅

Another interesting watchOS 8 tidbit: for the Numerals Duo face, the 2-toned options have been renamed from the Roman numerals in watchOS 7 (I, II, III, IV, etc.) to actual color names. We already knew these colors corresponded to sport loops from the S5-S6 era. But now we can use the new color names to figure out the “official” colors used in these bands. There is also a hint of a possible unreleased Summer 2021 sport loop in here.

Some general observations:

• For the S5 era bands, Apple used one of the two main runway colors and the rail color for the watch face. Usually it was the “main” (folded over) runway color, but not always.
• For the S6 era bands, Apple used the two rail colors to make the watch face.
• A few sport loops (Neon Lime, Pomegranate, Olive, PRed G4) apparently incorporated past-season colors.
• There are a few 2-tone combos in the Fall 2019 section made up of 2017-2018 colors. These don’t correspond to any sport loops that were ever released.
• Several loops released in Spring 2021 are categorized as Summer 2021 colors in watchOS. This makes me think Summer 2021 bands are not coming at this point and all bands that Apple was actually able to get out the door were crammed into Spring 2021. Really the only color we never actually got was Cloud Blue.
• Apple became absolutely obsessed with the color Olive in 2021.

I think the fact that Blue Horizon is the digital manifestation of the obviously Capri rail points out that the relationship of textile to watchface is more of a muddle or a loose mood board and perhaps a limitation of the translation (Capri is just too vibrant to be used as an official face color; can’t wait to use the new custom color to actually bring it to the watchfaces).

Sure Lemon Cream vibes with camel yellow but I’m going to stop short of calling the upper runway (or lower if you’re team reverse) Lemon Cream in the way that the rail is indubitably Beryl.

Edit: extremely interesting that cactus/light orange is the sunshine face. Makes sense given we’ve always clocked cactus as the runway and the order of the faces, but i always used lemon cream/beryl for sunshine and viewed cactus/light orange as a sort of mystery face. We def are owed a light orange/sunshine goo band now, that’s for sure!

Incidentally, I just spit-cleaned those small marks where the body meets the crystal. They all came off.

I can do that, I'm a mother. Although my college-age daughters won't let me to it to them anymore. Ha!
