It’s the worst. I have been enabling colors I own and a few others that are nice complimentary accent colors. But I either have to guess and then check on the main screen to see if I got the right color or use Bandbreite to find the release season for the color I’m looking for. Horrible user experience either way.

I’m really not sure what Apple was thinking when they redesigned the color picker like this. Only the most die hard bandaholics (I count myself in that group) know/keep track of what season their bands came from. If I find this UX to be bad, how must the average Apple Watch user be feeling about it? I just don’t understand the logic behind this change.
Right? It took me about 5-6 mins to find walnut yesterday and since I didn’t really dive into Watch OS 8 before I got my new phone I was like what is this madness? I guess I better go through and pick all the colors I have currently to save time 😩

To be honest my opinion is split. In the past you had the name of the color, which of course was practical. On the other hand, I often had the feeling for myself that she didn't really fit into the band of the same name. I actually think the slider is really good. Mainly because you can see on the watch at the same time how it is changing and whether it fits the bracelet. It's just a shame that it doesn't come with every dial. There is always room for improvement.

What are you guys doing for the watch color picker on Watch OS8? Are you just checking all of the colors? I didn’t realize that it’s broken down by release year now and picking a color is not as easy as before.
Split opinion here too (as with other answers). On one hand I find it cumbersome to navigate through seasons as I honestly don't know all the issue dates of my bands by heart. I'm adding them on a need-by basis, so when I wear a new band, I'll add the colour. Haven't tried out the slider yet, but I find that to be a great idea. In the end we'll get used to it I guess.

Speaking of the new season bands, here's the one I got for now - I was traveling last week and stopped at an Apple Store and got a souvenir. 😁 Definitely in love with dark cherry.

For now I have settled for (and ordered) English Lavender solo, Clover SB and Dark Cherry braided.

one of my favorite bands is the Flash Light sports loop. The color picker in OS 8 only seems to show the colors of the sports bands - and there was no flash light sports band the season the loop came out. So I guess I've lost Flash Light forever. (Flash and Flash Light were two distinct colors before OS 8). I wish I had known, I would have left a watchface with that color when I updated so that I wouldn't have lost it. You apparently can't color adjust (brighter/darker) the "named" colors. And there is no yellow-green base color to start off with to create my own. It is just gone forever :-(

It’s hard not to suspect marketing in the case of the nuking of the beautiful rainbow picker we once knew and loved. Someone on here who had the beta early speculated it has to do with drawing customer attention to the fact that there are new seasonal bands to collect and that feels right. How ironic for us heads.

And I hate that the gradients aren’t all together in the top group, another cognitive burden to not be able to just go up top when I’m wearing a sport loop from series 4 or later.

Has anyone compared the new Olive Gray/Cargo Khaki Nike Sport Band to Spruce Fog/Vintage Lichen, yet?
I‘m utterly curious as to how similar those two look…
Seconded that I’d really like to see this comparison and also the new Olive/Khaki compared to the original 2018 Cargo Khaki sport band.

Wait spring 2018, flash light is still there.

Well I got the English lavender band, but next on my radar is probably Clover SB and possibly the marigold, now that I have the SG watch.

Received Marigold and English Lavender SB. Wanted share but please bear in mind it's night time where I am. Will try daytime photography later. I threw in my beloved Cantaloupe color so you can compare the difference between these two.

First thoughts. Marigold is orange, but not very intense. Like orange mixed in with a little bit of grey, but it's definitely orange. It'll be a great accent piece. Definitely goes beautifully with my gold aluminum AW6.

English Lavender is really lovely. I'm so glad I got it. Again it is lavender with a bit of grey. It's not bright purple, but I will get a lot of use out of it paired with my cool toned outfits.

I'm keeping both. :) :D :)

Nah, I kind of regretted getting the blue so I wanted to get the SG 6 in case apple discontinued it. Kind of glad I did since the 7 doesn’t seem to be too much of an upgrade

Clover 🍀 (and a few others) arrived today!

This color is really awesome. It can look brighter and shinier and also a bit more subdued. It's a deep, rich, generous green. This is what I would have liked Cyprus Green to be.

I love how soft and velvet-y this fall's sport bands are. They softly wrap your wrist like an embrace. The other good thing is that they are also way less prone to shine compared to the last two seasons' bands.
Now I kind of regret getting English Lavender as solo band.

Anyone’s Clover SB has already gone “shiny”? I got both Clover SB and English Lavender SB and it’s only been like a week and the Clover SB is already showing wear? Light use of both, they’ve only been out for like two weeks. The English Lavender SB looks fine.

Thinking it might be a quality control issue. I don’t recall doing anything different with this SB than with any of my other SBs. It’s my first SB with this problem, like some sort of coating is peeled off.

Hard to capture without a flash; this is taken with a flash.

That's annoying. Did you happen to come into contact with any kind of grease or lotion that might have worked its way into the band?
