I wonder why Apple doesn't offer a golden aluminum AW 7 and no more sand pink or at least a normal sports band in chalk pink 🤔 It feels like 70% of the watches here are worn by women with this combination 🤷🏼‍♂️ And I can almost see the solo loop here never what I understand because I don't like it either 😅
Something I noticed when the dust settled was that Apple’s new aluminum rainbow, combined with the SE, covers a lot of ground keeping the old colors around. I think two things to consider:

1. Apple is still mainly targeting first-time watch buyers, so if they really want that fem classic look (I totally agree it is the setup I see most, period), the SE is still there, and I imagine the pink sand sport band sticks around in the background, if not the main bands page where it has been erased, and certainly at third-party stores as the default for se gold. Starlight as the pack-in is also feasible, as Stone was for gold SS s4.

2. Rose gold went out of style last year haha. Clearly they think Starlight+Starlight, in all its diet champagne glory is the new go to fem look. It will be interesting to see if the pink sand sport band will be available in the Studio, when they drop the 7.

It seems to me that Apple changed the aluminum colors just enough to differentiate the 7 from the 6. The blue 7 looks lighter than the 6 (at least in the renders), and I’m guessing the red will be somewhat different, too. Personally, the starlight render doesn’t seem like it would complement bands with a pink or coral tone as well as the rose gold did. I saw a YouTube review of the starlight solo loop and to my taste it was blah. I just wonder if starlight and beige will ever be as popular as rose gold for us pink lovers. Based on the reviews rolling in for the iPhone 13, the pink color is getting a lot of love.

I don’t think the third iteration of the Nike sport loop will ever cease to be polarizing but if you can set aside the heavy branding (if it rankles), the sublimated pattern is very interesting.

It’s a little more mysterious and refractory, sitting under the fuzz. Definitely feels more modern than the full-tile flecks and reflective strips of the second Nike style, and the Nike wordmark isn’t legible from every angle and distance. The logo also sits under the wrist and is more for the wearer than other people.

And the new Cargo Khaki face on the digital Nike face seems to actually be Olive Gray and has overwritten the old Cargo Khaki color. Analog is still the old color. At least on my s3.

Hahaha. I am that pink gold metal/ pink sand sport band girl. No, I don't think starlight+starlight will quite replace my current combo. Because at the end of the day, I want my watch to match most of my gold toned jewelry.

Cantaloupe is my second favorite color. It's a very happy color.

Here's my dilemma.

  1. Braided solo loop. Can't choose between Maize or Pink Punch.
  2. Sport band. Can't choose between English Lavender or Marigold.

Arghhhh....Any advice welcomed.

You're like 1/10th (or less) of some of the users here. 100 is not an addiction in these boards, just to the average joe! ;) forum is also the only place where luckily it feels normal 😂
But the forum is the only place where (luckily) it feels normal 😂

In the end, it might both be 😇 Lavender because it's beautiful and who knows when there will be an almost saturated purple again. And Marigold just goes so well with the golden AW. A tad happier and sunnier than Cantaloupe. Almost in the direction of terracotta depending on the light. A new favorite combination for me.

Here's Abyss, Northern, and Tomales. Tomales to me has too much purple to it and I never liked Northern, but Abyss is pretty sleek. My Abyss Braided got delayed, but I'll post it with all of my blues later if anyone wants to see the difference. I decided the other day to collect all of the blue Solos because I never seem to wear anything else.

Thoughts:

Marigold is the light orange I've been wanting. Darker than Cantaloupe, lighter than Papaya/Kumquat. And yet... I don't know, feels mediocre on first impression.

New Red braided loop is very bright, closer to the past Red sport bands or Red Raspberry. Makes me appreciate the original more though.

Dark Cherry (braid) is subtle but in most lighting still has a definite hue to it. From what I've seen the sport band might tilt more towards black-in-most-lights. Liked this one more than expected.

Maize is basically impossible to capture with an iPhone camera. A little less saturated and a touch more orange than the iPhone wants to admit. Interesting color but not for me.

English Lavender (braid) is one of those that looks widely different depending on the lighting (and also a hard one to capture on camera). A lovely light blue in some lights (outdoors/daylight), a dull gray/purple-blue in others. I still just want a Lilac sport band.

Abyss sport band is nothing special. Sits between Midnight and Dark Teal. Probably a dead ringer for Mallard or Pacific Green. It's nice if you don't have one of those though. The braid, on the other hand, might be my favorite so far. I like the Atlantic braid a lot more than I expected but I tend to prefer the darker shades so Abyss is a touch better.

Received Clover sport today! I feel like it's kinda hard to photograph color comparisons due to lighting (mind you, I'm using an iPhone 12 Pro Max LOL), but I wanted to show some comparisons to other greens I have.

Clover is by far their best green IMO. If I had to only pick one, it would be this one.

In all photos, it's L - R
Mint - Spearmint - Clover - Pine - Cactus

I think you just sold me on both English Lavender and Marigold. I love the idea of a braided loop, but because of my lifestyle (active and I sanitize my bands daily) and my strange desire to change sizes during the day. On hole 3 during workouts, and hole 4 when I'm just out and about, and on hole 5 when I go to bed.

Any single loop band will give me bad anxiety. Yeah, I'm weird.

Strangely enough, that sounds more normal to me than you think 😂
In terms of optics, I think the braided loops are simply beautiful. That's why I have two that I couldn't resist and Maize could be next one on that list. But I feel like you that I change the holes every now and then for the right or comfortable fit. The Sport Bands are just perfect for that and easy to keep clean 🤷🏼‍♂️

Clover is by far the best green band color they've had. I'm still holding out for a something in the vein of the Sage iMac G3.
