One other observation, the band itself seems to be slightly longer than my other 2 braided solo loops right out of the box.

S5 Space Grey/Black - S7 Midnight
The more I see it, the more I think Midnight is the nicer "black". Despite or because of the subtle blue shimmer.

Call me stuck in my ways, but I'll always think Black G1 is the best black. It's the closest we've gotten to a void sport band.
Now take a ceramic pic that looks the same when a B/W filter is applied. Shouldn’t be too hard?
The black braid looks more Winsor and Newton ivory black. Meanwhile the unity band looks more charcoal black (matte black), allowing the specks to take more prominence.
Both are necessary bands. 😊
Tier 1: Charcoal, Unity, Red1, Red2, Maize, Pride (mostly)
Tier 2: Atlantic, Abyss Blue, Electric Orange, Pink Punch, Inverness, Eng Lav, Dark Cherry (maybe higher)
Tier 3: Pistachio
Black1/noir still reigns king of all.

FWIW, I noticed the Unity Band I picked up felt slightly looser than my other braided solo loops, so I ordered another. Here they are side by side. One from today on the right, left one is from a local store.
Suffice to say, will be returning the larger one. Both were 45mm size 6. So keep your peepers peeled for variations

Pink is the one woven I feel really bad about getting rid of. I have not been able to find a single one at yoink pricing since then.
And I sold it for like $15, too. 🤦♂️

While I’m aware there are normal size variations within tolerance, this is a bit too much, both right out of the box too. In relation to the band, absolutely. But based on the case and the overall combination, I find Midnight/Midnight a more than worthy successor to Space Grey. Also for people who have worried that there is no more "black".
Starlight/Antique White. It's nice to see how well old bands harmonize with the new color and become up-to-date again.
