The pixels on my iPad are perfect! But I do have some light bleeding on the side not sure if I want to bring. It for a replacement. Maybe some glue has to dry over the week.

That's another test people should be running.

With the all black photo, check for light leaks around the edge of the screen.
You should have no light leakage.
Some will say its ok but don't lower your standards.

You paid $500+ for a perfect device.
Demand perfection.

They were pretty awesome about taking mine back and letting me inspect the new one. I found a tiny speck of dust behind the screen on the new one but otherwise it's beautiful. My wife and the apple person couldn't even see it, so in an effort to look less crazy I decided its fine. ;). Thanks for the test images.

did the test on my iPad and my brothers

he noticed a dead pixel, set up a genius bar appt and they gave him a new one no problem

mine is fine :)

LOL at should have no light leakage trusty me every display will have some. It is the amount and how big it is is where the problem is.

One! One dead pixel. But I'm not so sure I can bring myself to care enough to exchange it. This isn't something that causes surrounding pixels to want to die too, right? I would just feel like an ******* taking this back to the Apple store for the one tiny speck.

Yes, its contagious like depression at a foxconn factory, after a short while millions of otherwise perfect pixels will jump to their death right off your screen, they may wait till your looking at a pic of a tall building for dramatic effect though.

Okay seriously though ( yes that was an attempt at humor) if it doesn't bother you then thats fine don't let anyone tell you you must bring it back, but by the same measure if its visible to you they will more than understand don't feel like your being a putz. you gave them 500 (or however many) dollars, and every dollar was perfect, if one dollar was damaged and it couldn't be counted as legal tender, you can believe they would demand that you go find another one.

Agh, I've got one! Seems like its only the green part of one pixel, as I can't see it in the red and blue tests. (That blue test is really hard to look at, anyway!) The pixel is so small, I'm debating on whether or not to get a new one. Other than the one pixel, everything else is perfect. No light bleed or anything.

I haven't done the test but I found one dead pixel when I got my iPad. I keep forgetting where it is, and I have to turn the brightness up to find it again. In other words, there's no way I'm gonna notice it und normal use, so won't be returning my iPad.

I did the test and found a couple of dead ones. Going to the Apple store tomorrow to swap it out for another. Oh well.

Only one dead pixel, no light bleed, checked at 25, 50, and 100% brightness. I'm astonished. With this many pixels on a new type of screen tech, I figured I'd gave at least a few. I was hesitant to even check and confirm it. Very well done, Samsung and Apple!

For what it's worth, I didn't even find the pixel while I was doing the test. I found it accidentally while typing this, LOL. I can only see it now when I remember where it is and go looking for it.

Edit: Actually, it's just a green sub pixel that's dead, which may be why I didn't catch it. Sneaky little bugger.
