Some people here or somewhere else are ridiculous of negativity.

You have the best video game designer on stage, Miyamoto. You have the best SOC on the market, the A10. You have the best wireless earbuds, finally, after years of expectations and dreams (I'll buy them day one). You have the most proven design, the iPhone, now water resistant. You've got the best wearable on the market, the Apple Watch, improved with better chip, better battery, GPS, and a great watchOS 3.

This is terrific news. Only thing disappointing is the price, but it's Apple (= no surprise) and it's well crafted stuff.
Who needs a translator.Really?

Sad that once again there were no new Macs. I love the "jet black" look on the iPhone. I'm glad Apple is finally weaning itself from the default 16 gb configuration. The new Plus camera looks amazing. Watch 2 is a good improvement. But there was nothing in this keynote that tempted me to open my wallet. The Plus is simply too large a phone for me. And the Watch will be much more useful when it finally gets its own cellular chip (which I'd bet will happen with Series 3). I'll be very interested to see how these products sell in the coming months.

Apple is back on top with two black colors, two camera lenses. In your face tech for jaded customers that really don't deserve products that good.

A simple summary is:
[1] new iPhones
[2] new iWatch
[3] new iWork collaboration
[4] new iOS version
[5] no Mac news

Yawn. Apple wake me when you begin to innovate again... how about a new Mac Pro? 3 years? Really?

It's amazing how vast majority of commenters on MacRumors now are so negative towards Apple. Why don't you guys go troll android forums or something?

I'm not saying we should blindly praise Apple, but I mean come on...

Still a super fan boy... just bored and they make such a big deal about nothing... what about the 7 could you not live without if you only have a 6? (even a 5s)

Redundant explanations. Ooh, you don't need this.
Let me decide what I want or not.

Not a chance. Steve loved to cut things. This will all be a storm in a teacup in a year when everyone cuts their jacks and moves to wireless. Bring on a wireless world. I hate cords. On everything.

I hate cords too but I also hate managing batteries that constantly need recharging. If the iPad introduced device fatigue, wireless headphones introduce battery fatigue.

Sure if you had a highly regular, routine or boring life you could work out a charging routine that works for you. But for many, life isn't so regular, boring or routine. And even if it was maybe sometimes you just forget to bring that portable battery or charger to keep everything charged and working.

I don't want to have to deal with headphone power levels and the best headphones are all analogue anyway. Managing my iPhone, laptop and external DAC is more than enough for me.

That and the earPods look so tacky. If this is what wireless looks like, give me wires any day.

PS: I'm guessing they'll have a Mac event in the next month to update the Mac lineup. They can't take these outdated models to Christmas. Can they?

:(

Does anyone else have a problem with EarPods/AirPods design? For me they don’t sit tight in their place so I always hear a lot of background noise. This and they get so much ear–filth over time in their tiny openings.

I believe Steve also loved to listen to music. If you have a love for music, I don't think you would remove the headphone jack. I just don't think Cook is a big music listener, so he doesn't get it.

Both of you are making good arguments of what Steve would want. I am 50/50 on which direction Steve would have gone. I do agree with you that Tim is not a big music listener. I also think he is a light mobile user. A Mac means nothing to him for his specific needs. I think he does likes politics, privacy, and watches.

I find many of the internals of iPhones fascinating. The A10 is bleeding edge and perfectly equipped for a mobile device; Apple’s A chips are the envy of other smartphone manufacturers. Apple promised that the quad-core chip with two energy-efficient cores would improve battery life by up to 2 hours, with future potential for additional optimisations. This is the kind of technological advancement that I want, not just meaningless CPU-performance improvements. Same with the audio. Apple finally added stereo speakers as they did away with the audio connector. There are also lots of tiny changes that Apple doesn’t always disclose or explain at keynotes. Take Apple’s Secure Element chip or Motion co-processor. Apple is levering the benefits of that technology directly to add features that Android phones might have had for longer, but were almost always inefficient software implementations. Apple is also using things that you only find out due to obscure technical notes. For instance, I recently learned that Apple uses custom flash memory to fuse hardware and software together, in this case to provide a robuster solution for disk encryption. Apple doesn’t do this for Macs.

The iPhone is doing fine, although the display (rumoured for next year) and storage (although better) are indeed still disappointing and the insistence on the proprietary Lightning connector is almost infuriating. But when you compare the level of technological advances on iPhones to Macs, then the whole picture becomes utterly depressing for the latter.

I think I'm just ready for a better display and longer battery. I am getting the 7Plus because I'm excited to finally get a real Zoom feature and my primary uses for the iPhone are music, video and audio recording - which is why a better battery is important to me. That hasn't really changed in 4 or 5 yrs. You use the camera app on the phone and the battery drains within a few hours.

The future is wireless.

Were you against the graphical user interfaces too, because we had text interfaces before. If you want old technology, Apple is not your company.

I agree wireless is the future, but don't think Apple is the company of the future.

Siri doesn't compare with google now, Samsungs all have OLEDs, rumors are that the next iphone will adopt some sort of edge to edge tech (something samsung did two years ago), iphones don't have a file system - god forbid you want to move a movie on your phone, rumors are Apple will adopt iris scanning (samsung did it), and Iphone 7 form factor is outdated (most companies have smaller benzels to not have a ridiculously foot print.) And then there is the whole wireless charging thing, which many companies adopted Qi many moons ago.

Most people are disappointed today and for good reason, it really seems that this is an iphone 6SE, and not an Iphone 7. There wasn't any oo la la moments, and the wow factor was minimal. I do like the dual lens though, but the processor updates are good. But are you really that excited about haptic feedback, taptic home button, and speaker? Is that worth the hassle of doggles galor?

If Apple is the company of the future, I guess we can expect rose gold Apple TVs, and more bands!

He was singing Sweet Home Alabama with James Corbon. Nothing says music kred like Carpool Karaoke.

How is it possible no one is talking about the biggest news from today? MARIO on IOS!!!!!??? Hell has frozen over and this is a gateway towards, maybe actually getting Zelda on a mobile device - something I didn't dream would ever be possible. Although, I do feel bad for thinking - when is this man going to learn some English. I bet he does know...

There almost has to be a Mac focused event in Oct or November because they have to release Mac OS and the new TV OS and they can't do that without announcing new Hardware.

Amen to this entire post. I don't need another device to charge. They work for only 5 hours and there's no way I'm going to remember to charge them constantly. And now I have to carry that stupid case around too just in case? I agree on the look as well - I'm sure they'll turn into some fad, but I'm not putting those things on. They look odd.

retarded? Are you like 12 years old.

Man, I remember when this site had a serious comments section and this type of garbage post was moderated out. Now, it's all we get; children with no tech knowledge, posting meaningless insults that they don't understand.
Really, do you hold 2 Ph.D., one in CS and EE?

I'm happy with what Apple offered for the iPhone 7. Looking forward to the upgrade. I like what they did with the 6s and scrapped the 16 GB for a 32 GB, which still incorporates the 3.5 Jack for those interested. I also think the dual camera has a lot to offer.
