Everything Apple Announced at Today's 'It's Show Time' Event in 6 Minutes

My feeling is that Apple is trying to juggle too many balls at the same time.
I always think of Steve when he returned to Apple, simplified the hardware line and focused on software big time. While I get we live in different times, I wish Apple could focus on what matters most and stop trying to jump all over the place.

Less is more. Keep it simple.

I am already giving them 179.88 euro a year for music (family account), it is worthed? YES, but will i be able to say (speculating here) give them another 179.88 for Movies and another 179.88 for Games?

That would total 539.64 euros a year.... WOW.

While I am sure it would be worth, there's no way I am subscribing to more than Apple Music, and I am sure I am not alone.

They say they are not an elitist company, but action suggest the opposite.

Same.
I am never really negative about apple, but this today took it over the edge.

Why wouldn’t it?
Yet again a classic case of Cook showing his total lack of leadership. When will he learn that it's more than just being seen in the right places and saying the right thing. If your product is not up to scratch then sooner or later you'll fall. RIP Tim Cook. The writing is on the wall.

Studios thrive on the uncertainty as to whether a movie will eventually end up on Netflix. If you knew movies will absolutely end up on a service, you’d just wait (and you’d have plenty of movies to watch in the meantime).

If I think I will like a movie, I go to the cinema to see it.
If I am not sure but might want to see it sometime I will wait for it on Netflix.
Movies on netflix seems to be hit or miss for me (because I see most of the big ones at the cinema).
TV shows on netflix on the other hand are great.

I won't watch any TV shows on terrestrial tv because of the out of rating season pauses, time over runs, schedule changes at the drop of a hat.

I am guessing that Apples TV offering will be more than I am willing to pay for a service.
The magazine service is too expensive for the number of magazines I actually read on a competitor service.

They already stream the music. They could charge 39.99 a month for it all and put Netflix out of business quick if they wanted

You do realize that the market penetration of the Apple ecosystem is tiny in the grand scheme of things? It wouldn't even be a blip to Netflix.

Everyone in the comments section is looking down on services they haven’t yet experienced.
Shows and Movies which haven’t even wrapped on filming or at the very least don’t have so much as trailers.
Games yet to be released and pricing which is yet to be announced.
All of you need to suck it up.

Most of you seem to think that the key to Apples success is releasing a new Mac Pro. These sales and this market is important but it will never be a key driver for revenue or growth because the pro market is comparatively niche.
That being said those products will come - Apple has said as much.

Apple is also not spreading itself thin. As others have mentioned they are a much larger company than when Steve was around.

Apple is helping to develop new content with content creators. It’s a win win for people like game developers that could result in better games and more revenue.

Is the 'hey kids I'm hip too' uniform mandatory at Apple? As a guy in his mid 20's it's almost kinda creepy.

Anyway pretty dull announcement. The only thing that sparked interest was the Apple Card, will need to know more about it and how it compares to an Amex. I am a sucker for metal cards and if it's cheaper than my platinum Amex I may switch.
One thing I notes from the small clip that I saw is that Oprah spoke in "Apple Voice", not her usual lively performance. Sounded more like an Apple robot. Did all the other star presenters speak in "Apple Voice"?

For a credit card? Sounds like it will change your life...
So why would someone be that excited over a credit card dare I ask? (Or were you just being sarcastic?)

I don't get the credit card excitement.

It's Apple, the shows are going to be PG after school special rubbish. I can already feel it.

I don’t care what people say, that was one of the most fun and feature packed Apple events that I can recall in recent memory.

Hardware is important... and so is software... and so is content and services. It’s not just about what hardware you can buy but what you can do with it. Apple announced a ton of new ways to use your Apple devices.

The presentations were well done, they moved through everything at a good pace and that intro video alone got me giddy about Apple like I haven’t been since the Steve Jobs era.

Thanks for this post

I typically do not watch Apple events. However, I was impressed with the Apple Card.
Something tells me, I will be signing up for one...

A **** day for Apple Fans in the U.K.

Just another day when more people will start to drift away.

My iMac and MacBook are gone already; Apple TV disconnected and on eBay; iPhone is going this week. Itunes dumped. Only the iPad pro left to replace. I'm just tired of overpriced tech that is too slowly upgraded to stuff that is even more ludicrously priced.

Don't give a stuff about their new services; they're years late to the party. Magazines? LOL!

Why do you think Apple is doing anything new? Same services as every other provider out there.
Shows and Movies which haven’t even wrapped on filming or at the very least don’t have so much as trailers.
I guess it all comes down to the price as to whether it takes off as a movie/tv subscription service.
Games yet to be released and pricing which is yet to be announced.
Games haven't taken off of the Apple platform why is a subscription service change that?
All of you need to suck it up.
Really?

Apple has always spread itself thin, thats why it takes so long for new releases to come out.

I don't think games developers will make much out of this.
People get bored of games and then move on to the next game.
So games developers on other platforms takes the $80 per game.
In Apples model, the developer will not get $80 out of each subscriber.
Games developers only have a short time to make money out of a game.

No she didn’t.
I must have been listening to a different Oprah :)

Will they allow drinking, sex and smoking in the movies and tv shows?

I dunno, as a fan of Apple products, these service offerings seem very lackluster.

Perhaps they are not my demographic.

It is as if Tim Cook himself hand picked these shows.

Perhaps, they should add some Angela Lansbury and Golden Girls episodes.

Apple card by Goldman Sachs... would not touch a Goldman Sachs thing with a 100000 feet pole!

EDIT:

Goldman Sachs Finally Admits it Defrauded Investors During the Financial Crisis.

Yeah that's the kind of partner I would want....

If they would have bumped the cash back to 3% on every purchase, they would have hit it out of the park

The problem with the conference wasn't the lack of hardware (we knew that already so I don't understand people that felt "disappointed" because of it). The problem was that they announced a video service with original programming without showing ANY footage (apart from a few seconds). No matter how good the technology behind this service is, no one is going to pay for it without being interested in its shows. HBO Go for example is atrocious technology wise, but is considered a must have because of the quality of the shows available.

I was hoping for less fake whoo-whoo-er's salted in the audience. I mean really; who whoops at every time a random presenter walks on stage, or at every nuance service feature. It was so patronizing that I became nauseated. When the camera panned across the audience, a woman appeared a bit freaked out by one of these creepy posers' sitting next to her. They seemingly edited it out because when I watched the event on the following day; the panned shots were missing. Tim was about as convincing as a used car salesman, and the lackluster presenters echoed the tenor. Oh well, at least we'll have a few more useless Kindergarten Apple emoji's.

For me I am geting paranoid how much Google and Facebook track us and profile us. Even from third pard apps.
I find this scary as ****, I am getting paranoid in how Google, Facebook China are taking over the world.

So I need to honour Apple for making money on hardware and software and services.
I find this post funny as Google and Facebook don't operate in China (shhh... Apple does though)
