These look very nice but I just really love the reduced cables of an iMac. Plus, the Studio + Studio display is a bit more than what I need and want to spend.

so, I'm waiting a while longer for M2 iMac. I actually like the 24" size, so just want the new chip.

The announcement made it look like the extra space was used for cooling - fans, air flow, etc.
That would be my assumption too, except that the mini was already oversized. I am sure the Ultra produces more heat, but is it really generating so much heat that it not only used up the existing space it also needed more?

Boring! Not that I don't like the Mac Studio and Studio Display, but they are far too expensive for me to consider. I was hoping for new entry-level MacBooks because I've been thinking about upgrading, but it didn't happen.

Waiting for the 500 YouTube reviewers "blown away" that the 2 Max chips glued together benchmark 2 times faster than 1 Max chip. Like a fool, I'll probably watch them.

I take it, that all Apple silicon Macs from this day forward WILL NOT be user upgradable. ???

20 sec version

Apple TV+ - zzzzzzz
Green iPhones - meh
M1 iPad - hmmm
M1 Ultra - now we're talking
Mac Studio - Yep, exactly what I needed
Mac Studio price - hmmm maybe not
Studio Display - really want it, but damn $1600 clams

Instead of emotional roller coaster, your viewing had a fairly smooth arc to it:
  • Starting up the hill
  • Stuck on the hill
  • Getting near the top of the hill
  • The big drop thrill
  • Some great loops/curves right afterwards
  • Wow, that was too fast for the long wait in line
  • No I don't think I want to ride that again

No doubt that the Studio Computer and Display will both be low sales volume products.

That’s sadly none of what I wanted. The Mac Studio is too expensive for me. All I wanted was the M1 Mac Mini with 32 GB of RAM. I guess I’ll stay with my 2010 Mac Pro for now.

Since they left Mac Mini Intel in the store, I would still have good expectations for perhaps a silent update or press release update for something like that.

All I wanted was MAX MAXED Mini and I fully expected to pay a logical price (based on 14" MBpro pricing) of about $5K for it. Instead, they reveal Studio with that config at exactly that price. It adds a few port bonuses and almost certainly a better cooling system than had they put the same into the Mini case.

I had a pretty solid plan for that Mini including wanting to wall mount it but I'll adjust the plan for Studio: I wonder if it will be wall mountable?

How many YouTubers are gonna drop $10K+ on these only to process their 15min run time videos 1min quicker. Apple straight up milking these “creators.”

I am curious about the airflow. It sure seems like it has active airflow to pull air up and in and then uses the pressure to push it out the back. If that's true, and you mounted it with the cables down it might suck hot air back in. If you mount it with the cables up it might fill with dust. My guess is that it would work pointed left or right.

Well, I can name the creators who won't have to pay for one on one hand.

In otherwords things that could have been sent in an email. Reminds me of all those faculty meetings, an email could have covered it.

Maybe this summer or next fall. I was hoping for something really big. MEH...

Yes, left or right was the concept. I have to believe that accessory makers will roll out wall brackets by perhaps as soon as tomorrow now that specific measurements are clear. I wonder if there would be any downsides assuming the bracket can securely hold it to the wall?

Edit: I was wondering how fast the typically-agile Asian nations would have this kind of accessory, so I jumped on Ebay and typed in Mac Studio Wall Mount. I got pages of makeup products. Same on Amazon. That will make early accessory shopping fun.

I was right, the 27” iMac with pro chips would be out of question, and the M2 should be used instead (maybe at the end of 2022).

The real take away for this event was no new big name companies were announced as having moved their software to the new ARM Macs. They boasted about iPad apps being used on the ARM Macs but it was otherwise strangely devoid of much else.

Great machines but if the software doesn't follow Mac will back in the niche it was a long time ago which never really supported that large of a base.

In a few months the mac mini will get M2 with support for 32gb of ram; same thing about the 27” iMac.

Studio Display: Finally, how the eff did this take so long? Instant buy.

Mac Studio: Insane, I'm blown away

Green iPhone: Why do they release the coolest color now, after everybody has already bought it months ago ?
So those with enough money will probably buy another one ;)
