Word 2004 often has better performance, but Office 2008 has better compatibility with newer Office features. If you do use Office 2004, make sure you install the OpenXML converter so that it can open, edit, and save Office 2007+ file formats.

And to add to Intell's post:

You are limited to those versions.

Thank you both above. Another question...

A DVD has got stuck in my PowerBook's drive. When I eject it, it comes out slightly but doesn't eject fully. There isn't enough for me to grab on and pull out. It stays out for a second but then goes back in. I haven't used the drive since replacing the keyboard - could it be something to do with this?

Pick up and hold your PB in both hands. Tilt the PB so that the optical drive points down towards the ground at an angle. Press the eject button. Essentially, you are using gravity to aid you.

I used to have to do this with my old 17" PowerBook. Otherwise the eject worked in the same manner you describe.

I using Mac OS X 10.4 of rackmac3.1 with powerG5, CPU x2, Cpu speed2.3 GHz, L2cache 512KB Memory 4GB. It is as a file server for 20 mac client. Users always complain about slow performace in accessing file which are using in Photoshop.
